I’d give Maruisz Pudzianowski the edge over everyone because of the way he fought through the pain. He always ground out a few more reps and for a guy who was weak in squatting she still did that better than most. You only seem to care about how much weight they can move. Im talking about who can get 1 more rep when the title is on the line. Also Pudz won WSM by a lot. It wasn’t close most years. He would have such a huge lead by the 4th event it was already over, hence his nickname “the dominator”.

I think eddie and thor are close in max squat and deadlift but ....eddie nearly died pulling 500kg ...thor looked like he had another 5 to 10 kg in the tank ....eddie is the stronger presser but overall i agree ...thor is the strongest overall
Given how smooth the pull was, i'm sure he had 510 or even 520 in him. He just wanted to beat the record so 1 kg more was what he loaded up as a "F you" pretty much.
I'd put Eddie slightly above Hafthor. - Deadlift is as close to being even as possible. Let's say Eddie was at his limit while Hafthor could perhaps have done 10 kg more - alright, that's 2% stronger. Not much of a difference. And that's only on a 1RM, mind you. If it was deadlifts for reps, I might give Eddie the edge. - Squat is pretty even, too. Again, Hafthor _might_ take the win on a 1RM (not even sure about that), but Eddie might take it on a squat for reps. - Press is the only big difference. And it is a BIG difference. Hafthor's best bench press was 250 kg for 1 rep. Eddie did 265 for 6 reps., paused! Even if we give Hafthor the win on deadlift and squat, they're still so even, whereas Eddie wins by a landslide on pressing.
@staceygram5555 i be thinking the same way only because eddie is such a good squatter naturally and i honestly believe eddie couldve had all the pressing records if he wanted them .....its very close ...hafthor has a recorded squat over 1000lbs thats why i gave him the edge but eddie couldve broken ANY static record he wanted to.
@gabrielsantosalves8386 Eddie didn't compete, he just showed up at the event for the 500kg attempt and then left. Trying to gatekeep strength is incredibly dumb, Thors lift was supervised by a bunch of strongman legends, it absolutly counts as a legit lift.

Thor has the best deadlift , best squat, probably like 4th or 5h best shoulder press and those are just the static lifts, vehicle pulls , over the bar, stones, frame carry he has a case for be the best ever in those events , even i would put dumbell presses here , he pressed 130kg i think at one of the Arnolds

Look at the thousands of 15+ feet skeletons that have been unearthed and you would realise we are tiny now. Those could easily lift 5-10x more if not even more.

Agreed with Fullthor as the STRONGEST of all time💪, sorry Kaz, Mariusz, Magnus fans. They are great but not the strongest ever. But have you seen the urban legend guy "Tom Haviland?" His lifts are just insane. He might have a crack if he can just join or if his feats are actually real and.....nevermind. 🤭 but his lifts are really huge.
His lifts are stuff to not scoff at, even Mitch says he has a shot if his lifts are to be believed, HOWEVER, there’s no shot he’s touching Thor in static strength, or even Eddie, hell even Mitch himself. He is a jack of all trades absolute fuckin maniac of a home strongman, but he has basically next to 0 chance of getting any world records.
@ Haha, correct, I even doubt if he will ever join. But Mitch said there are lifts that are really unbelievable. And his leverage is fantastic. There's a video of him benching 600 lbs like it was 250 lbs easy and without struggle in full range of motion even with long arms. That's why I want him to join coz I want to know if he can do it on a controlled environment with judges and if the plates are actually real. 🤭Because any lifter who watched his videos knows that his lifts are crazy. But yeah, He wont be beating Thor.👍
It's close at the top, but I immediately thought of Thor, he has to be the most freaky human being on the planet, we might have to wait for quiet some time before someone will match him in sheer uniqueness.
As always Bromley great video, You can’t argue with the numbers especially when you are Just going with the Numbers. For now it’s Thor, but if Mitch stays healthy you can’t bet against him being the Goat
Good video. Thanks for the qualifier at the beginning. It's a powerlifting guide to who is the strongest strongman. Too bad this is lost on most of the comments.
Exactly....Thor really has bested everyone. He is going to do 1 510-515 kg deadlift this year. His pressing is really coming back. I believe he will beat Mitch this year for the shows he enters.
I think that's fair. Thor tore his pec targeting the raw powerlifting total record; The rate at which he built strength in that run makes Mitch's progress look slow. That's probably why he got injured but he looked basically on track to get the record. That's the truest test of maximum strength there is and if he took it slower, I think he would have got it so he's an obvious winner.

@vojtechkorhon4159 greatest is subjective. but in terms of strongmen Brian is at the top like the others but has the personality of the greatest of all time unlike the others. Strongman is more than static lifts as it becomes powerlifting skewed. Grip strength is not considered, endurance, agility etc After watching latest wsm I would have Tom Stoltman in top 5 for sure he strict pressed that axle at 460 with long arms. Best strongmen are good all rounders. Not bad overall
Brian Shaw is a close 2nd. I don't care what these other numbers say. Then the competitions are flawed. Brian is clearly stronger in most ways than most to these MUCH smaller guys
About static strenght is between Thor and Eddie (all the roads always come to this two lol). For OHP, or perssing for that matter, it has to be Eddie, has a higher bench, his axel PB is 216KG, his best log 213KG but deinetly could do at least 225 (speculative). And his best bench was 300KG. In comparisson Thor has 206KG, 213KG and 250. Not to mention he tore his pec pressing. Hover, Hafthor was a much better dumbell presser and also out paced Hall at lighter OHP events with ease. For the Deadlift it has to be Hafthor. The difference Hall has on him on press is the difference Thor currently (and since Hall is retired) will forever maintain on him on the Deadlift. But this is not just about the 501 vs 500. Is because Thor has outclased Eddie (and every other deadlifter): Thor has a 501KG strongman deadlift (WR) but done in a singly ply squat suit, yes, we are yet to know how much he could do in deadlift Multiply, plus the ease with wich he did, his EB WR is 474KG and his best PB is 480KG; Is the man that currently holds the most 1K pound deadlift with stagering 19 times over said barrier. Holds the heaviest record on the axl deadlift of 380KG with 6 (might be 7); the car deadlift record and the 350KG deadlift for reps with 10, but did them raw. In comparisson Eddie has 500KG IN multiply; 465KG EB, has done (to my knowledge) 8 1k deadlifts; and 350X9 reps BUT he did them in multiply and figure of 8 straps.
@@Gnybr Hafthor holds the world records in both equipped and raw strongman deadlifts. he is hands down the best deadlifter and also the squatter among the two.
Agree with some, disagree with some. The top three is agreeable, so is the winner. EDIT: Martins is also a terrific squatter, having won the 2016 WSM squat, did geat in 2017, and won again in 2019 WSM squat event, and did a max T-bar squat at 434kg, wraps and suit.
Hafthor. its funny though I tend to split strongmen into two type the athlete vs the brute. most of the weaker* strongmen used their endurance and athletic ability and recovery to make up for where they wont match the raw power . Brutes of course tend to smash the weights but they have abysmal cardio agility and endurance. Hafthor Hooper Stoltman and co are so scary because they have both in spades credit to Marius Shaw and Z for inventing that archetype and really changing everything irts why they are on the rushmore for anyone with a brain. but yeah its a new era.
Currently, the title of the strongest record-holder likely belongs to Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Thor) or Zydrunas Savickas (Big Z), both of whom have established numerous records in strongman history. However, the future of the sport seems to be in the hands of Mitchell Hooper. Mitchell has already achieved an impressive array of records and continues to make extraordinary progress. His trajectory suggests he could eventually dominate key events, including the deadlift, squat, and log lift. His rapid development is arguably among the most remarkable in strongman history. In 2024, Mitchell narrowly missed victory at the World’s Strongest Man competition due to an unfortunate incident with his hands, which was more a case of bad luck than a reflection of his abilities. Given his current trajectory, Mitchell Hooper is poised to become the greatest strongman of all time within the next five years.
Before I watch the video: Overall strength: Hafthor. Static power: Eddie Hall. Dynamic strength: Brian Shaw, perhaps also Mitch Hooper is in the running in the modern era. Lots of other factors and specialisations to consider (Tom Stoltman being a good example of being supreme at a single event) just my opinion but this is a fair list I think.
I mean, Haftor as a 200kg+ behemiuth was still able to beat the likes of Kieliskowsky in dynamic events while being the strongest static lifter and hmdefinitly far closer on the stones to Tom that some people give him credit for. Still holds the wr run on the heavy set of atlas at giant live, and better at every stone other than Atlas than Tom
Thor might be the absolute strongest, but I think everyone would prefer Hooper performance. I mean numbers so close to those of these 2 best behemoths, while 100 lbs less, way faster and with the endurance of a horse!?!? Sing me up!

@drae6984 are you dumb? Im not calmin down when u make stupid statements. Eddie literally deadlifted 500kg first. And squatted 700 plus beltless raw on a whippy bar for reps in training. J think even 800, thor cant do that shit
Enough of this crap. Angus MacAskill was stronger. Go on prove me wrong.. You can't which is the point of my post.
"POLSKA GUROM"!!!
well being the strongest does mean moving the most weight hence the focus on how much weight they can move.
No way does a channel I watch and love for baseball vids also love strongman. Ily dude.

9- Derek Poundstone at that show where he won every event besides the last
10- 2022 WSM Tom Stoltman
11- 2013 Arnold Classic Mike Jenkins
Why 2016 instead of 17 for Brian? He placed close 2nd in 16 while winning dominantly the year after.
@vojtechkorhon4159 I meant to do the bale tote year, which I think is 2015 not 16 so that's my bad
@@simondean5227no ur thinking 2017 - that’s the heavy bale tote. 2017 B Shaw Arnold is the strongest person I’ve ever seen tbh. Crazy dominant and unbeatable.
The 2014 Big z Should be way high on the list because like Hafthor in 2018, Big z won both the WSM and the Arnold strongman.
@thewestfaceofdhaulagiri6697 I'm not choosing them based on their best year, I'm choosing by literally the best SHOW, and in an interview Z was asked what his best shape ever was and he said 2012 Europe's.
Cant argue with the top three or the tier of those three. All three are amazing.
Dude, what an incredible video!
Appreciate the work.
That was a very well done video. Thank you.
Eddie's 500kg was in the middle of a competition, Thor didn't, big difference
@gabrielsantosalves8386 Eddie didn't compete, he just showed up at the event for the 500kg attempt and then left.

My pick aswell. At the beginning I already knew it was between Hafthor and Eddie. Did not actually see The Moose all the way up there. Guess he is stronger than I thought.

If Eddie gets partial credit for his barely missed log record I feel like Mitch should get partial credit for getting a 505 deadlift to his knees. That said I do agree prime Thor is the winner here without a doubt
I think most of us believe that eddie could set the log record at that time based on all of his excellent overhead performances, if it wasnt for his ankle....
Eddie's was way more convincing and he had an ankle injury that hindered him. Mitch just wasn't ready for the 505
@ Mitch also didn't prep for the 505 atttempt, he just felt like trying it on the day. Neither is a record but both were still incredible feats of strength

I believe it is pretty safe to say that 2020 Hafthor is the strongest human to ever step on Earth, up to date.
Hooper said it was Thor 2018 to 2020. So i'll trust the man on the top 3 of this video

"Tell Eddie Hall to cry about it" 😂 Definitely has to be Thor by a hair over Eddie. It's wild that Hooper is already in the discussion. If he keeps it up, he'll go down as one of the all time greats
I think I would have included a stone lift as a static lift, I get that most of the atlas events include a lot of movement between lifts but the core lift itself is static. Think that would make a good part two to see how it changes the rankings (if at all)
Why when it would just add to thors lead over the top three?
Hafthor is the greatest stonelifter in history.
And he will further cement himself as the strongest man of all time with deadlifting 501 raw on elephant in March. It will be the greatest lift of all time.

I'm not a big fan of Thor as a personality but as a strongman he is mythological

If only people would've warned him.

How can Brian be considered greater than Žydrūnas? Z's accomplishments across his long career are better.
@vojtechkorhon4159 just my very biased opinion
@AdamTec fair enough
@vojtechkorhon4159 greatest is subjective. but in terms of strongmen Brian is at the top like the others but has the personality of the greatest of all time unlike the others. Big Z is the goat as well but he is much more reserved and quiet strongmen than Shaw. Thor and eddie both act like children which tarnishes their goat status. Mitchel hooper is also looking to be a strong goat. and if he hits a 501 kg deadlift he will probably cement it. Brian shaw is al so moving the strongmen world forward by hosting the Strongest man on earth event to shake up the strongmen wolrd. goat isnt always the best numbers. brian is just near it and has the bravado to be that face of strongmen liek Michael Jordan to basketball or Muhamad Ali to boxing.

*Hafthor Julius Bjornsson is the Strongest Man to have ever lived.* My primary criteria is simple: Brute Strength supertotal across the Deadlift, Squat, Bench, Log and Stone: 501 (1,105) + 460 (1,014) + 250 (551) + 213 (470) + 260 (573) for 1,684 (3,713). Nobody comes even a hundred pounds close.
What is the total of Zydrunas or Eddie Hall?
@@НикитаГолухин-ы2х
*PEAK BRUTE STRENGTH:*
Deadlift, Squat, Bench, Log & Stone:
Brian: [467.5], [410], [245*], [211], 254 = 1,587.5
Zydrunas: 440, 425.5, 265.5, 228, 243 = 1,602
Eddie: 500, [405], 280, 213, 209 = 1,607
Hafthor: 501, [460], 250, 213, [260] = 1,684
For Americans:
B: [1,031], [904], [540*], [465], 560 = 3,500
Z: 970, 938, 585, 503, 536 = 3,532
E: 1,102, [893], 617, 470, 460 = 3,543
H: 1,105, [1,014], 551, 470, [573] = 3,713
Key:
- Numbers which are within [ ] brackets are done during training or not sanctioned by a governing body or not infront of a credible referee.
- The * indicates that no actual 1 rep max was done but a double (2 reps) was converted into a speculative 1RM using a standard 1RM calculator.
- Squats from Brian & Eddie are claims with no video proof. Therefore nobody can prove them with irrefutable evidence specially on what kind of a depth they hit, and nobody knows whether they actually happened or not. I have anyway given them the benefit of doubt.
- Zydrunas's Deadlift is 1 inch deficit. However his best standard height DL is lower than that: 435 (959) during training.
- Eddie claims a 300 (661) Bench, but it's equipped. Zydrunas also claims a 285 (628) raw Bench but there’s no video proof. Zydrunas also claims a 440 (970) for 2 raw squat, but there's no video to prove it either. His triple with the same weight (which there's a video) are clear half squats. Even if we give all those to them, their supertotals will be still less than Hafthor’s (who has video proof for all 5 of his lifts).
“Brute strength” shouldn’t be the only metric used though. The point of strongman is to have static lifts mixed in with dynamic ones, else it’s just powerlifting with a few extra fancy lifts added in.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but it all comes down to the fact that Hafthor bothered to compete in powerlifting, while the rest didn't, at least not at the peak of their powers.

I have yet to see any one stronger than Thor in 2018.
Strongman is more than static lifts as it becomes powerlifting skewed.
Grip strength is not considered, endurance, agility etc

Not bad overall
2018 Thor is the strongest human ever.
2017 Eddie Hall
@michaelbritz1110 in every event, in their prime, 2018 Thor would win.
Brian Shaw is a close 2nd. I don't care what these other numbers say. Then the competitions are flawed. Brian is clearly stronger in most ways than most to these MUCH smaller guys
13:47 ridiculous. They’re gonna send the WSM to the meat grinder to die in a unwinnable war. One of the saddest things i’ve heard.
Eddie's best bench was 280, 300 kg was done with a bench shirt

its funny though I tend to split strongmen into two type the athlete vs the brute. most of the weaker* strongmen used their endurance and athletic ability and recovery to make up for where they wont match the raw power .
Complains about Europeans...the whole video is about Europeans.
Given his current trajectory, Mitchell Hooper is poised to become the greatest strongman of all time within the next five years.
thank you ChatGPT for the analysis
@@aidanwillette4852 chatGPT just corrected the errors, the analysis is mine, I am watching it closely
Very good video. I like how everything is measured out and judged. I didn't like the cursing, but other than that, great job.
Big fan of Eddie for his antics fun to watch but agree with the rankings.
Thor peak freaky genetics vs
Eddie craziest drive ever
Solid ranking
Before I watch the video:
Overall strength: Hafthor.
Waiting for Eddie to have a cry about Thor's record for the 117th time.
2018 thor
NICE WORK,thanks for doing this.
Good assessment. Hafthor is the strongest ever.
If Thor hadn't torn his peck, he would have broken the powerlifting total as well. His strength was increasing at a rapid rate during that prep.
Hafthor
He said what we all knew. Thor is the strongest human ever.
1. Thor 2 . Hall.3. hooper 4. Z 5. Big Shaw. And 4 - 5 was the only part I went back and forth on 2018 Thor is the strongest dude ever to compete
Thor might be the absolute strongest, but I think everyone would prefer Hooper performance. I mean numbers so close to those of these 2 best behemoths, while 100 lbs less, way faster and with the endurance of a horse!?!?
Sing me up!
Thor pretty easily wins
Not having Brian in thumbnail is criminal
Hafthor ez
I'd give it to the guy that played Napoleon Dynamite.
Big z no one then thor but wait another couple of years and thor will be no one of all time, he doex everything with ease
I'm picturing the IQ chart meme with both ends of the bell curve saying Hafthor is the strongest strong man ever
Easy... THOR
Bryan thor and Eddie are the only men that can be mentioned. It's hard to think of a 4th
