Santana 🇲🇽🦁🎸 explained in a documentary that he had the opportunity to see the Doors 🚪🦎🎹 in San Francisco, with other great bands of the moment. The counterculture of the 60s at its finest. So he formed his own band.

This is art pure... I've never met Mr. Densmore but I know he didn't want to play music with a fake Morrison singing. He played the songs with the original voice. Why do it again? His loyalty humbles me but this performance is a tribute to all the latin beats used by the Doors never really heard in pop music before 1969. This is a showcase of latin music in pop... not a tribute to Jim who has had a thousand tributes in his own right....this performance is a tribute to Carlos Santana, Latin music, and John Densmore... nothing else.

John is not a bad man. But he is soooo shallow. He needs guidance to make great things like in The Doors days.

Densmore was responsible for the Doors sound? UH..yeah..like Nickleback is one of the most influential bands in rock history. He reminds me of the guy Mike and Carol Brady would try to keep Greg and Marsha away from.
Most people are so unaware of what the drums do for a song. Damn right, he was partly responsible for The Doors sound!! About 25% of it. If you replace any one of the four, it just wouldn't be The Doors.
