That book about lost manuscripts sounds so interesting!!
I think about how stories and lives so often go unread, unheard so often & I catch myself wondering about those people and their potential stories.
I also think about how lives, like stories, could be received and experienced so differently depending on the time in which they are lived and read.

@@EricKarlAnderson I've read it. Personally, I found Greenhalgh's constant interruptions of Lucas to explain, opine, and interpret to be very distracting and irritating. I wish had simply edited the diaries and provided footnotes and appendices, a foreword, intro, conclusion, etc, rather than droning on at me and butting in between me and Mr Lucas. Shame. I expected immersion and I got a very blocked glimpse.
Mr Lucas doesn't seem to be available in the US. Perhaps soon.

Perhaps the West's basis of criminal justice is more ideological than it is transactional? idk Were that the case then perhaps the question becomes what gives them the right? Sometimes the vision of an all-powerful government is a frightening one, particularly when it's unclear exactly what they wish from us.
