This is one of most accurate videos I've seen on EMS. Burnout sneaks up you and affects all aspects of your life. I've watched this video a couple of times and each time I keep seeing myself do the same things over and over as the themes you so masterfully portrayed in this segment. Subbed. Keep at it, both the videos and working on a rig
This video was great. It addresses what many of us deal with on this job. There’s another dynamic which is how it affects our intimate relationships (spouse, domestic partner, significant other). It’s so stressful the impact this job can have on those relationships.
This film is too accurate! Especially after EMS week consisted of 0 PPE, running all day, and dispatchers stacking calls on crews. Thanks for creating this !
Great job Randy. I know how many hours its need to deliver that kind of video. I like your channel. Comrades from Europe follow your channel,... Can't wait for next video and hope to see you again this year.
First and foremost thank you for making this film. It really hits home. burnout is such an issue in our field. As someone who's been there, hell I'm still there, but getting better day by day. I had gone my first 3 years in EMS without a vacation, and right at that 3 year mark I was about as burnt out as you could be. It took an angry outburst from my partner who realized I was basically killing myself on the job for me to take a step back and take the time off I needed. I can still say I'm not quite back to where I want to be but hell. I actually enjoy coming to work again which is a huge step in the right direction.
This was great Randy! I am an EMT rookie not even on the job 6 months with a fire department and private transport. Decided to make a career change during a pandemic. I am trying to establish healthy habits now to prevent burnout. Thanks again for this.
Listen, thanks Short Round for doing this. Truth is we will never get the pay or respect we deserve. Passed burnt out long time ago. I’m just grateful I work with great partners and for the most part a great station. Yours Truly Dr Jones. If you can figure me out hit me up. Stay safe brother
I dont even work for EMS and feel like quitting already after this video🤣 you guys are real life superheroes its definitely not an easy job and its also important to do self care also, need to relieve any stress you may feel after long days and crazy situations that occur on the job. Awesome video!🔥🔥🔥
Coming from AMR as full time EMS thanks brother for this video I absofuckinloutely loved it !!!!!!!! True story hitting head on nails lay people don't get.....
This is an awesome video, thank you for making this and sharing it with us. It takes one to become this to recognize it. I hope you are doing well for yourself brother.
I love this video. Starting EMT training after being a C.N.A for awhile and I see a lot of similarities but the differences are why I'm switching. GREAT video ❤
Randi. That was excellent work. It is very true. Everything you said. I have burned out no less than three times in 25 years and still found a way back. I have learned that It all stiwith the mindset you bring to the job. As an instructor, I teach my students the truth and hope I prepared them to do the job. Most importantly, I teach them that it's ok to not be ok, and to get help.
We all experience burnout. It’s the decisions we make to try and break the feeling and try and try to make healthier choices in life and try to make time to socialize with friends even though it’s hard. Love the cinematic a. Great job. 👍🏻
My fiancé has been a paramedic for 38 years. 24 hr shifts every 3rd day for THIRTY EIGHT YEARS. I can't imagine the extent of the toll. Watched this video out of love for him. Thank you for making it, great work.
RescueRandy I’ve been there. I had to leave ems. Between ptsd and burnout after 10 years. I moved on to nursing in an icu. Now I can go back to ems and actually enjoy it again. It’s my calling it always will be. But sometimes you have to step back and reevaluate things.

Old school rules still apply. You, your partner, and then the patient. We’re no good to anyone if we burnout.
