A Top 10 Extreme Demon. When I came back to the game, in early 2020, the games list of hardest levels felt nearly unrecognizable. When I stopped playing all the way back in 2018, it felt so much more approachable. I beat my first couple top 10s in 2017, being subsonic placed at number 7, and bloodbath placed at number 9 upon completion. When I came back in 2020, subsonic had fallen down to the 67th spot. I wanted to get back into extreme demons, because part of my want to get back into the game, was to improve yet again, and prove once more that I was up for the task of beating the hardest levels, something I had done multiple times. In 2014, I verifed and beat some of the hardest levels in the game on mobile, prior to the steam release, and when returning in 2017, I beat some of the hardest levels on the newly formed pointercrate demon list, but coming back in 2020, that didn't feel reasonable to me. I wanted to beyond subsonic, but I wasn't sure if I was ever gonna reach the peak of the demon list again. I came close with Bloodlust at number 17, and Rust also at number 17, but the top 10 grew ever further away, but here we are, 2 years later. I have beaten a top 10, 5 years after my last one, and with my Hard Machine completion, I thoroughly believe I have proven that I can keep up, despite being an "old" player. I've been around since 2014 with varying activity, but every time I return and my activity spikes again, I prove that I can keep up. Even tho I never really became the best, or one of the best, I was always in the top league, and I feel really proud of that. Maintaining a top position as a demon slayer for the entire lifespan of the game isn't something a lot of players can claim, but with this, I also think it's about time to retire from the top as well. I explained it in my "I was Banned from The Demon List" video, so you can watch that if you ever so wish, but I am satisfied with myself. I'm satisfied with my legacy as a player, and I've accomplished more with this game than I thought I ever would. Hard Machine is my peak, and I would be surprised if I ever decide to go above it. Maybe one day I decide I want to return to the summit of GD skill, and go for something harder, but that day is far in the future. I don't want this to sound like me bragging or anything, but I do genuinely believe that this proves that I am an incredible player. I'm extremely proud of my GD journey and legacy, and I hope that Hard Machine won't be the end to my GD career, but a showcase of my legacy as a player. Thanks for everything, everyone.

Watching you play this was one of the most painful yet motivational things ever, genuinely massive congrats on beating this, you fully deserved this man!
Hard Machine is a 1.8/2.1 Extreme Demon collaboration created by Komp and nikrodox, published by Komp, and verified by Varium. The gameplay for the level was originally built in 1.8. Komp created the level for the sole intention of being harder than ICE Carbon Diablo X, which most of the community at the time, (around 2014), thought was the hardest possible level in the game. Komp created Hard Machine to win a bet against his friend, who said he "couldn't make a level harder than ICDX without it being impossible".[1] After the level died for quite a bit of time, Komp was reminded of it when going through levels on his old tablet. Later, Komp asked nikrodox to decorate the level in 2.1-style to get the level to look more modern.[1] The level went through two verifiers before Varium verified the level on August 16, 2021.

Edit after reading a lot of comments: if you have ever seen once in your life a video of Aeon or watched a stream of him you should know that he doesn't like any of the levels currently above Hard Machine (with the slight exception of Silent Clubstep, and he has said he likes Acheron as a top1 but is not interested in doing it himself). If you haven't, now you know. Also doing a new hardest when you are at this level isn't like doing a new hardest when you're doing hard demons, you need to invest a lot of time and effort. If you don't like a level it's not worth it. I don't see why this simple concept is so hard to realize and people complain about what another person wants or not wants to do. Also, to people saying he doesn't want to do a new hardest because he's not able to do so, you're so stupid lol. This man has proved to stay at the top of this game since its release, do you really think he wouldn't be able to grind something else if he wanted to? He has also said that if a new level harder than Hard Machine comes out and he likes it he will go for it. Right now this level doesn't exist and so Hard Machine is his final hardest. Peace

Wassup aeon. Good job. I was in many of the streams where much exciting didn’t happen. I think you should try doing Silent Clubstep as a new hardest considering it has very stupid gameplay, which you have came to like, and it is very fun, from my experience.
