      If you haven’t seen it already, I recommend watching the Iron Claw. It’s stars Zac Efron. It’s based off the true story of the Von Erich brothers.

      First couple seasons of Agents Of Shield was really good and after season 3 or 4 it got horrible with the storyline. It went more dramatic than anything and the stories were boring. Just saying lol I did watch the whole series when it was on. A few Marvel shows was like that I loved in the beginning and just failed after a few seasons. I loved Loki but still have to see season 2

    I read the Carnage graphic novel back in high school and loved it, but for me what made it so effective was that Carnage was such a threat that Spider-Man and Venom had to work together to take him down. Knowing that they couldn’t use Spider-Man for this film I didn’t have high expectations but I was still disappointed lol. It was fun rewatching the sillier parts with you at least!

    I actually enjoy both Venom movies. They’re not perfect and fall under B movie territory. Tom Hardy is easily the best part of both and I like how they embrace the goofiness of the 90’s Venom comics. Basically after Spider-Man & Venom teamed up to defeat Carnage, Eddie & Venom made a truce to Peter and they moved out of New York to become anti heroes which is what the films are based on. Venom is more of anti hero now a days than a villain. All that’s left for the movies is meeting Spidey and that’s what people want most.

  • @CrazeeAdam

    Why the ending post credits scene is awesome to me is Venom says symiotes have a vast array of knowledge across the universe. So.. While our Venom played by Tom Hardy has not seen Spiderman, the Venom played by Topher Grace has. Maybe that is how Venom knows of Spiderman. It's something to think about i guess.

    In the comics, Eddie and the Venom symbiote were not fully bonded, so they would refer to themselves in the third person. Cletus and the Carnage symbiote were so fully bonded, that they were connected down to the molecular level. Also, the cop, Patrick Mulligan, bonds with a symbiote that is a “child” of Carnage, and is named Toxin.

  • @sithlordkaeyl21

    As a big fan of the Carnage character from the comics, I was seriously disappointed. Woody Harrelson did an okay job as Cletus Kasady. I mean he played a serial killer in ‘Natural Born Killers’ back in the day, but since the movie was limited by its rating, he really didn’t go far enough to make the character believable enough for me, and they totally screwed up the character of Carnage, which was very disappointing to many fans. The movie was far too goofy and silly, and completely ruined the seriousness of the subject matter.

    The best thing about this movie is the relationship between Eddie and Venom. I'd happily sit through 90 minutes of them just hanging out in Eddie's apartment talking to each other (TBH I'd enjoy that a lot more that a lot more than I enjoyed Let There Be Carnage).

I seen Mark Bagley that is the artist of that comic. He signed my comic and I got it graded by CGC and got it back last month. The grade I got was a 9.4 KL idk if you ever seen the movie My Week With Marilyn with Michelle playing Marilyn Monroe. That is my favorite movie of hers. it has a very good cast of actors

    I came into this reac with low expectations for the film, and I wasn't disappointed. The movie was entertaining, but it definitely didn't distract me from the reaction (I'm probably spoiled... you've covered some bangers that require multiple watches to digest.). Of the two Venom movies (so far... 3 is on the docket for the end of this year), I enjoyed the first one more, but they both had their moments.
    I agree with other commenters that highlight the bickering between Eddie and Venom as some of the best moments. I could watch an hour of the internal dialogue between the two characters while they are just strolling through a Walmart (a Canadian Tire?).
    Anyway, here's your 😛, and the ❌that was on my ledger from last week (I had nothing of substance to add to the X Men conversation).

    The fierce fighting between Venom and Riot in the first movie, Riot was an absolute beast. Amplify that brutality and you get the true potential of how dangerous Carnage can be. If we got that combination and an R rating then this would be a bad@ss movie.

    Few tidbits: Venom was actually pregnant when Eddie went to interview Cassidy in the comic and that piece of him was left behind. Despite them saying Carnage and Cassidy were not matches, he's actually so bonded with it in the comic they refer to themselves as "I" rather than "We" Like the other hosts.
    The comic Venom first went solo in is in fact called Lethal Protector, and he was working for Shield because they put a bomb in his heart, which he cut out mid plane flight on his first mission, but still kept working for em cause he wanted to reform.
    The detective if I remember correctly becomes Toxin. The strongest of the original hosts. Not sure if that sticks still cause I haven't read the comics in awhile.

    This movie was a send-up to the edgy 90's era Venom comics I grew up reading. Where Venom was this more brutal version of Spiderman saying he'll do all this over the top violent shit, but still being a big goofball. Also, did we need Carnage, really? The movie could have just been Eddie, Venom, Dan, and Annie and been solid,

    Yeah... it was... a movie. I'm glad you're glad you watched it. I'm glad I watched your reaction. Venom isn't really my thing. As I mentioned in your first reaction, I just really don't care for the concept. Well... I say that... maybe it's the execution of the concept. Now, if you want to see an interesting, 80's monster / human movie, I recommend The Hidden. Same concept, different execution. Not as campy (although, there is some camp.) The Faculty also is reminiscent. And, there's another one... but I'm having trouble remembering what it's called, or the story, or anything about it. Hmmm... Ah, well. That's me being old.
    As always, thank you for the watch. I hope you have a pleasant rest of the week, and weekend.

    0:59 curious that she said the mutations are advancing.
    Could that mean there are more mutants in this universe?
    I know for a long time the MCU wasn’t allowed to use the words mutant or mutation.
    It is curious that Sony would be allowed to, even though at this point 20th Century Fox was properly owned by Disney.
    Maybe it is part of the cooperative partnership between Sony & Disney.
    Looking forward to you jumping back into the MCU proper now that you are caught up with the Venom/Spider-Verse.

    0:59 Shriek is actually a Mutant in the comics so it makes sense that they'd use the term "mutations" when referring to what's giving her these abilities. Not sure how this legally works but by 2021 Disney own the movie rights to X-Men so I imagine Marvel Studios would've been okay with them mentioning mutations unlike Fox who wouldn't even allow the term Mutant or Mutations to be used in the MCU, Why characters like Wanda were referred to as "Enhanced Individuals".
    1:39 Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane is like the Arkham Asylum of the Marvel universe, mostly connected to Spider-Man stories. it has a very Gothic depiction in the comics and actually showed up in Amazing Spider-Man as the place Electro was being held along with Harry Osborn. In the film it had a more fort design and seemed to be within New York itself on an island. While in the comics Ravencroft was located in Westchester County, New York making it close to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters also located in Westchester County. From this movie it looks like Ravencroft is located somewhere close to San Francisco unless they Carnage just drived across the East coast and back to get his girlfriend. So for the sake of keeping away from New York City then just moved Ravencroft to the West Coast.

    This is technically the first time I've seen this movie 😅 It was okay, but I'm glad I skipped watching it in theatres. • @FutureBoy85
      @FutureBoy85 6 месяцев назад

      @Exocrime It is what it is. Venom is the only successful movie Sony has produced thus far (excluding Sam Raimi's SpiderMan trilogy). Largely due to the fact that there's a lot of hardcore Venom fans. All the other movies they've made are just subpar to put it lightly. Yes, I am aware of all the post credit scenes and Sony Marvel Studios deal. They tried to do the same thing with Morbius. That's all I'll say about that movie. Sony needs to worry more about making a more coherent movie than trying to ride the MCU's multiverse coattails.

    • @Exocrime
      @Exocrime 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@FutureBoy85most sony movies are not about profit at the moment, its about to keep the franchise "spiderman". if they dont produce movies related to spiderman at a frequent rate the license gets back to marvel. and at the moment its still more profit to loose 50-80 million on movies every few years and keep spiderman in the house.
      i want to know how much marvel had to pay for spiderman movie rights in civil war and continue in MCU and the other thing for "no way home" ( dont remember if she already watched this spiderman movie, thats why i write spoiler free).
      i dont think that sony made a loss on there end in the last 10 years with keeping the spiderman franchise.

    • @FutureBoy85
      @FutureBoy85 6 месяцев назад

      @Exocrime I totally get why they want to keep making movies and not lose the rights, but you can't sit there and tell me that profit isn't something they're not worried about. I just wish their movies were better and they would take more advice from Kevin Feige when it comes to setting up their own multiverse. Instead of just making all of these bad movies and hoping casual fans will spend money to go see them thinking it's an MCU movie. It's bait and switch really. I'm not a numbers person but there's no way they're making a profit off of Morbius or Madame Webb. I'm almost positive Kraven will be more of the same.
