Abandoned Haunted Dam - Found Tunnel System
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 дек 2024
- In this video we check out an abandoned dam/hydroelectric power plant that is over a century old. A whirlpool spins eternally in the center of the dam and is said to be connected to paranormal occurrences. After exploring it in the daytime, we return at night to see if we can witness anything out of the ordinary, and we find a huge underground tunnel system.

I love how Bryan laughs when the guy sings, but the guy is absolutely serious about his notes
I loved that part of the video had a halo CE theme song vibes
Take care everyone and stay safe out there.
Hes got a good voice. I'm guessing a choir boy
Perfect Pitch.
"theres a whirlpool that spins eternally"
what i thought: intense Poseidon type middle of the ocean Atlantis whirlpool
reality: toilet
LOL! I imagined something completely different too... and much bigger.
I was expecting 20 feet across but it did look close to 6 foot compared to that guy on the stairs.
"Let us know if you feel a shortness of breath, a persistent dry cough, or your heart stopping. Because that's not part of the tour. That's asbestos."
It seems not many people caught on to that Cave Johnson reference
_"The good news is, the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show a median latency of forty-four point six years, so if you're thirty or older, you're laughing. Worst case scenario, you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face."_
_That's_ _an_ _elevator,_ _not_ _a_ _bathroom_
It's not looks like asbestos to me even if it as as long as its not distabed. Even if it's a bit broken it won't affect you you would have to have alot off exposure to asbestos. Fibers.

You saw a block of hay in a strange place and didn't go "What the hay?"?? Opportunities like that don't come around often
everyone is saying that it is hay, its straw hay is partly dead grass and used for animal feed and straw is completely dead grass
@@lt.schlechtnacht9414 LOL! Straw is NOT dead grass!
@@frankvandendool882 according "to google dried stalks of grain, used especially as fodder or as material for thatching, packing, or weaving."

I have a feeling the maintenance guy set up the chairs and stuff.
me too -_-
He didn't, make a quick research on google, it actualy is a geocache, that setup has been there for a long time.
fullraph Oh that's interesting, good find!
Assertive Biker that tonight's gonna be a good night
Main thing that concerns me for the legitamacy is the money. Those shiny pennies are the newer style. I really doubt any money that had been sitting in such environment would still remain that shiny and clean, instead of corroded or the such, has been there long.
-edit- The new style that is seen so shiny, the Union Shield, was started in 2010, so while I still haven't grasped that 2010 was almost nine years ago(anyone else..?), I still feel 2010 would have corroded the penny.
Why would the firefighters who were doing the inspecting run out when they hear screaming? They are trained to rescue. I would think their first instinct would be to not run away.
Dark concrete tunnels can scare anyone. In my youth I explored black 3ft diameter storm drain. Long story short, never go into storm drains. The water comes all at once and almost right to the top, not fun. Very creepy in there, sound acts weird in concrete tunnels. Thats why guys voice sounded good
If I heard screaming in a almost fully locked down tunnel where there was almost no chance of it being human plus the place being known to be paranormal I would run the heck out as fast as I can. I’m sure they probably felt the same way.
Agree - Firefighters would run toward screaming.
I was wondering the same. Firefighter should go checking what's wrong, they are not supposed to be scared of some "scary" corridor.
Trained to rescue, not put themselves in unnecessary danger. We don't know what kind of screams they were, ghostly disembodied screams from something just feet from them coming from something invisible, threatening screams yelling I'm going to kill you, animal screams warning they are getting too close, etc... If they were calling for help, I'm sure they would have investigated.
That echo. And that guys chorus sounded like a church for some reason
I was really hoping one of them would start singing Ave Maria
+Basic Bird that would of been cool
+Arlian Rubio (Arlian70) That singing is amazing!
Gregorian chants
It was the acoustics in the room
Stalactites is spelled with a c. C for ceiling. Stalagmites is spelled with a g. G for ground. This has been my Ted Talk. Thank you.
Those are neither. Its calcium leeching out pf concrete from humidity. Those aren't from water dripping through
stalactites cling tight to the ceiling. Stalagmites have the might to hold the ceiling up. (thats how i was taught the difference in grade school.... yeah mite and might are different words but still works)
Stalactites are hanging down, just like "tits" which are almost in their name.
I learned a couple of mnemonics for that... the "tites" go down and the "mites" go up... The letter T (tite) looks like something hanging from the ceiling, M (mite) is the opposite... or looks like two somethings rising up.
"StalaCtites from the Ceiling show; stalaGmites from the Ground up-grow."-- my almost forgotten first grade teacher. Thanks Mrs. Harris!
Please don't ever stop making these. You guys are by far my favorite urbex channel!
Agreed! I know it's 2 years later, but after watching several Urbex RUclipsrs, I've taken the best liking by far to this channel.
I feel like this was just nice acting on the maintenance guy's part and not much else.
"Oh this just opened right here! Look! Oh these planks weren't like before! Oh a staircase!"
He also kinda rushed them in the room at the beginning and that room was connected to the tunnels. I honestly think he was the one that set up the creepy scene with the stuffed animals too. It really felt like just show
You guys should explore an abandoned airport. Or at least a dead one.
It's pretty rare to find a fellow Sabres fan in RUclips comment sections lol
+Can't think of a name lol Well you've finally found one 😁
+TheSabreDance Oh damn I could have suggested one in Canada too, but I'm not sure if they've torn it down already or not. :/
***** Edmonton! There's an old airport right by my college (NAIT) and I know they're developing the land, but I can't remember if they've torn down any buildings yet.
***** for sure I will!
Plot twist the maintenance worker is a ghost of a guy who fell to his death during construction of the dam.
The maintenance guy should have hid down a dark hallway or something making it look as if he disappeared. Shortly after the owner should have showed up bitching "What the hell are you people doing here?! Do you want me to call the cops" They would reply "No man! We are here with Johnathon the maintenance worker! He said he went and got the keys from you!" The owner turns pale and asks "What was he wearing?" they reply "he was wearing a camo jacket" the owner calms down a bit and says "yeah that was Johnathon alright, haven't seen him around here in a long time though." the group asks the owner "haven't seen him? But he works here" the owner says "Well sort of, see he used to work here back in 1957. One day there was a problem with one of the turbines and John went to work on it. Somehow while he was working the turbine kicked on and sucked him right in. It was terrible, there was literally nothing left of him. He must have thought you guys were special to appear and show you through the dam. He usually scares off visitors with his ghostly wail to protect any more people from perishing in this place."
I thought that was expected.
He’s always there
Firefighters ran out because they heard screaming? Yeah, I want those guys rescuing me if I'm in trouble.
Well it could have been a threatening scream.
+MrsFefeNinja True. Or they were just a bunch of practical jokers.
+Kari F all they were doing was a maintenance check.
Doing maintenance check.
Screaming.
Fuck that nigga.
Well, that´s usually how you die in a horror movie. The one that hears screaming and walks in the direction the noise came from dies first.
I was driving to Tennessee today to visit family, after watching this video a couple of weeks ago, and I'm driving on a bridge over a lake, and I look to the right and I'm like "Hey! I recognize that dam!" 😂
For real, that dude needs to link to his singing youtube channel. Nice voice
It's more annoying that nice, I mean he was doing it first when they came in ok, but to keep on doing it like that is just fucking annoying.
No.
I found it irritating and fucking annoying the first time.. but when he did it over and over again i was slowly losing my shit... it was so fucking annoying.
Sean Kethcart Have you never heard of the phrase losing your shit before?
Sean Kethcart I think they meant losing
Pretty cool that they legit let you guys explore this facility. Not many of those corps let people roam around their private property like that. And awesome maintenance guy, giving you tips and all.
Thanks for sharing!
Its not technically abandoned and they had a guy keeping an eye on them. The building is historical and I think they let people in who don't seem like delinquents.
They're exploring asbestos they can.
This place is on my bucket list...so long as I'm not kicking it in the process. It looks so awesome.
Random guy offers you to come and explore some dark tunnels at night. Yeah sure, why not.
It is the best time to kill them
Totally not gonna get raped
It's literally the hills of Tennessee, people are fucking weird down there. Used to live there.
How legit is that maintenance worker even? I mean, why does an abandoned damn like that even need a (dedicated) maintenance worker? Also he did not always seem to know the way and he was amazed at the presence of turbines under that wooden plate down the spiral stairs. Furthermore he did not know the entrance to this tunnel system, even though it is part of the whole complex...
+0OO0O0000OO0O00O maybe maintenance for the other buildings and surrounding areas, and he probably hasn't explored the dam area much, i know i wouldn't if i didn't have someone with me
+0OO0O0000OO0O00O He was the maintenance worker for the marina that owned the dam. This was his first time going inside the dam.

The Proper People Ah, gotcha, thanks!
That shits crazy when they find the chairs and stuff animals I would be tariffed
I get the impression that maintenance dude loves this kinda shit but has noone to do it with. Ain't finished the video yet, but I'd totally stay there at 3am chilling with him hehheh

0:58 - His voice is awesome!
I have a terrible voice, but even I sound good in a place like that. He was nothing special.
Damn 4 years ago that was fast!
U would think that if fire fighters heard screaming, they would run to help....guess not
They could probably tell the difference between screaming and singing. :)
+Broseff G It was probably some drug addicts that tried to scare them off. I would run too, if i only had a torch on me. But if i had my friend with me, and my mossberg 500. I would start running in further.
+Ross Gambino agreed

+Ross Gambino mossberg 500?
Nice singing, he has a great ability to sing. Thanks for all you guys share.
Out of all your explores, this place was pretty unique. I would love to go exploring this dam, myself.
This was one of ghost adventures best episodes with all the noises they heard that episode
There was even a shadow figure behind Aaron, spooky stuff
I guess those whirlpools appear and disappear because something in the flooded rooms (like a loose door or so) moves in the current.
Nope. Ghosts. It's the only plausible explanation.
someone should get a camera down there and see whats there id be interested
Its just water flows into there and then water flows out an opening. Go fill your bathtub and pull the plug, wow, omg, a whirlpool. Nothing special about it at all.
Water flows in at same pace water flows out = never ending whirlpool bam science
Awesome tour as always guys, I just got into watching urban exploring recently and now Im addicted. You guys are by far the best Ive watched so far cuz you have the history on these places and alot of your videos come with some good " chase scenes" of you two running from security.... love it, im so jealous of all the places you travel to just to film awesome places for so many viewers to see, keep up the good work guys........... big fan.... You were supposed to drop the toys and the money into the whirlpool.

+Mr. CamTheMan at least the whirlpool would swallow

That's not singing. :/

+chloe mcconnell It's a form of rhythmic vocal, but it isn't singing.
@18:15 That scream fucking killed me. Could not stop laughing.
Everybody gangsta until the chairs start chilling in a circle.
This is such a thorough, well - filmed program.

Are you sure you had a tour guide at night? Because I didn't see one

Way kewl! You should go back and just sit in the dark for about an hour with the lights off and see if anything happens. Regardless, it looks like a really interesting place to look around.
super cool place. and that whirlpool was weird as hell
I remember watching the Ghost Adventures episode about this dam. Ghost Adventures is such a fun show to watch because of the way they dramatize their explorations of old and abandoned buildings and make it spooky.
This is my only reason to like Wednesdays.
Shout out to the maintenance dude for being super chill, what a good explore
4:47 this gonna be my new sms ringtone
"can you make any noises that echo?"
My man with the urbex rizz
I notice that the girl didn't show up for the evening tour...
when that man started singing i got chills and goosebumps!
"I get goosebumps every time"
omg I remember this! in Ghost Adventures, in that one room where the whirlpools are at, Zac saw someone on the thermal. I love this place and knowing the history and mystery behind this location. awesome video guys!!
You would find the mill buildings in Manchester, NH to be very interesting. There was once a canal with waterways running beneath each of the buildings in the complex (The canal has been filled in, and is now "Canal St"). But many of the old turbine wells, drainage canals and other turn-of the-century crap still remains in many of the basements of the mill buildings. The bottom floor of the buildings flood every few years, so I think most developers have just ignored them. We always saw cool old leather belt systems, pulleys and gearboxes spread throughout the buildings. Neat stuff!
omg omg just break out in Gregorian chant!!! wow instant love attraction!!! for the echo!! and his voice!!
Intro is always good, no matter how many of these I watch.
Not sure if you guys have the means for this but a Chernobyl video would be sick!
that will literally kill them lol
Exploring with josh made one in Chernobyl so it's possible
+Chevy Chase also that abandoned island in japan that was in that one james bond movie. both that and chernobyl would be so cool since theyre literally entirely abandoned towns
Actually alot of the surface areas are 'relatively' safe to walk around now.. I mean there are still a shit tonne of areas that are HIGHLY irradiated. but most of the buildings that are further away from the factory where the incident happened, are more or less fine to walk through.
That said... I wouldn't want to hang around there long...
"Safe" Is not the word I would use for Chernobyl (Which is the Nuclear Plant)
This is so great on mushrooms. Can go urban exploring without leaving my recliner lol. Epic location too.
Subtitles would have been great. Especially when talking with the maintenance worker.

It's hard to see at the angle you are holding, but @17:14 the item you are holding looks similar to a "solvent trap" or a homemade weapon suppressor. Could just be a bunch of random crap but those look like baffles inside of the canister.
The firefighters are not doing their job if they run *away* from screaming, aren't they supposed to try to help people? x3
Why do you assume it was people who were screaming and that it was a scream for help.

The acoustics are amazing!
for some reason flooded rooms with piping and machines really freaks me out, its both "spooky" and fascinating haha
Just found your channel..seriously awesome. Getting caught up on all your past videos.
I remember the episode where GAC investigated this dam, the reason I remember it so vividly is because Aaron captured an amazing piece of evidence just on that ledge above the whirlpool area. I'd highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already. I thought it would be a bit of a crap episode - but the history behind it is really interesting, & the evidence they captured rather impressive.
Great video, thanks guys (& Sarah) :)
Great acoustics dude nice video BTW 🙂
Firefighters are among the bravest folks on the planet. I really doubt they ran out claiming they heard screaming.
9:41 Stalactites and Stalagmites, if it has a C it hangs from ceiling, if it has a G it is on the ground.

Cool but not as fond of the ones with more people. Everyone gets too chatty. Silence seems to offend some people.
Totally agree. They should have cut that singing guy's vocal cords while they had the chance 😂😁
This place, extremely creepy 😳. Awesome video guys 🤗💕 great voice , fellow explorer 🤗
Fill that whirlpool shit in and make it into a hotel. Those big windows would make for some nice views of the river. A big, empty shell like that, it's like a blank slate. Could be pimped.
the dam is on resort property its boat storage now andvon list of historic places
The dam has terrible leaking problems.
well it has asbestos in it, and it would be a fortune to repair the dam and make it into a hotel at its current state
Very good video - lots of fun! Those hallways of little cubicles look like medium voltage to high voltage switchgear and metering transformers, etc. It's interesting that all the old panel-boards are still up - some look like white marble - those are old. For voltages 600 and less they used to have live front panel-boards with knife switches.
The turbines are below the water level in the basement space you showed. The shaft sticking up toward the big hole in the ceiling was coupled to the alternator, which sat on the machinery hall floor above.
why would they abandon a dam. renewable energy right there
+randomrazr they weren't making enough money probably.
At the beginning it said it was abandoned because it was frequently leaking
The leaks were a dam big problem
Cassandra Kniess so dey fucked up building this dam?
+PogoBear Punny :)
This was taken off line ~1968 when the gates were closed on a "new" dam about 5 miles to the south. Then part of this dam was blown out along with the locks to let the lower dam impound the water. I was 4 years old and can remember being there with an uncle at the new dam before the gates were closed.
Camera work really done my eyes in for some reason.
As you guys were shining the light into the whirlpool at night, I full expected to see the terrifying silhouette of a huge creature, like a sea monster.
Trying to watch this while also listening to my cat sprint up and down the hallway. -_-
How's your kitty doing? Is he still running up and down the hallway? ^_^
Ah chill kitty you're good you're in your mistress' home you're safe.
Yo uh atleast is not a big ass German Shepherd sprinting up and down your hallway
And to think that I used to do this on my own.
I got new equipment and I am going out again,ON MY OWN.Your senses open up big.Try it someday.

Thanks for doing this! You guys are awesome!
electricity from water, stairless stairs, mushrooms on the roof, thats crazy.
'Tight hang down, Mites climb up' Thats how i remeber it hahaha
Danger, danger! High Voltage!
The whirlpool is there because of the flowing water of river. As the water in river is flowing and the water inside the building is stand still so due to pressure difference the water tries to go with the flow of river. And theres are tunnels which feeds the water to the turbine runners and down there, there is an outlet so the water inside is always draining and gets filled simultaneously. Thats the reason for whirlpool..
If they had fallen into one of those uncovered intake gate channels in the beginning of the video, i'm pretty sure they might have found out you are correct in terrifying fashion. That would also be on the downstream side of the trash racks (assuming they are still down there).
So what is your job title? I am a dam maintenance worker!
