As an aviation person, the communication similarities between a VTS and ATC is really close. Love it

I was on shift in Vancouver Harbour when a motor cruiser cut in between a tug and the barge it was towing. The cruiser got caught in the towing cable and was dragged under the barge drowning five people on board that night. I worked for the Canadian Coast Guard and we handled vessel traffic and marine communications. It was rewarding but very stressful work.

Thanks for sharing John. Does the language and terminology used in your part of the world differ much from what you hear on this video?

amigo...I remember that night on the Ancholme when we got back from the hope and anchor a bit late and checked the Hull VTS and it a was like "Yo...all ship dudes. there will be things happening tomorrow" I remember us laughing about the idea that someone would be beating down the door to VTS😀
