A fun parody style video where I show Charles Dance as being the most like his character Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones.
Tywin Lannister is doing an excellent job at pretending to be Charles Dance
Great one 😂
Him and Homelander should team up.
@@jakep1979 I don't think Tywin would like him
@@augustus_lex6126 Nobody likes Homelander but Tywin can use him.
@jakep1979 True, but I think Tywin would see him as a massive liability.
You know, he reminds me a bit of Christopher Lee. They have the same aristocratic energy
I prefer Christopher Lee though
Yes! Totally agree. If you like Charles Dance you should watch Uk version of House of Cards. There is a actor, who is similar to both of them.
I liked the mini series he was in and all I seem to remember that there was a fire at the house/mansion
@@ichbinderhund2109stgu who cares there both goats
This is the realest shit I've ever read 😂😂😂
Tywin had to audition to have Charles Dance play him.
Why no comments though😂😂
@@roigergoololo3966 1.8k people agreed so much that they were left speechless
I want an audio book of inspirational quotes in charles dance's voice.
he had done quite a number of audiobooks. You can google and find. Some are availabe in youtube too.
He is the narrator for some documentaries, one of these is one about the ottomans on Netflix
He'd do a fantastic job with Marcus Aurelius's Meditations
@@JaimeNyx15 He done Meditations?!?!? Audible, here I come
@@xifel72 He *would* do a fantastic job with Meditations. I don't think he has done it yet, to my knowledge.
I love that even when he is just talking normal, there is a natural presence and authority to him. You just listen when he speaks.
fuckin love it
"I was confused" is both the most polite and the most insulting way to describe the last seasons of a series initially lauded for its complex writing.
Man is a class act through and through.
He brings such malice. Even when he smiles he's scary
Aye. He has that look that says "I'm gonna have you killed as soon as your purpose has expired".
He has those predator eyes
@@purpledancer8255That's a bit too much...
He's not, he just plays it up for gullible people like you😛
@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 it's a metaphor... what's your point
I could easily see Charles Dance as Saruman the White in a different universe.
if you had to direct the LotR films today, Charles Dance would pretty much be your prime choice for Saruman
Or Count Dooku
If Star Wars were made today, I could easily see him being Tarkin as well.
@@wd3185I was fuming when they didn't cast him for Tarkin in Rogue One.
Dance and Lee always remind me of each other.
"Ungrateful little stump."
I'm calling every single one of my short friends this when they talk crazy from now on.
watchout for the modern day crossbow from them
the one chambered in 5.56
I mean REALLY
They should really really think about getting Charles Dance to redo all the audiobooks for A Song of Ice and Fire.
The premium edition
It would be awesome if GRRM finished the series, but he never will, so what's the point?
@@ramael3299 he will
@@61Gowi. when? He's not getting younger and the next book is not the last one. Unless he can keep writing after death, the series is not getting concluded by GRRM
And after, they can do a Fifty Shades of Grey audiobook with him
“Silk purse out of a pigs ear” that’s such good line
it's a common saying, is it not?
That saying has been around for decades. Mr. Dance didn't invent it. Even the Disney movie Mulan had that saying in one of the songs well over 20 years ago.
@@Whiteboykun I didn’t say he came up with it. I said it was a cool line.
@@WhiteboykunFrom an average person, it's a saying.
From Tywin, it's a Line.
This dude has the most awesome voice ever. Equal parts soothing and intimidating.
He reminds me of some of the older British actors like Sir Christhoper Lee and Peter Cushing, has the same energy as them as well.
Tywin did an excellent job portraying Charles Dance
i've never heard anyone say the word 'tent' with as much derision as Charles Dance
Haha, I noticed too. TenT
Only james may
effectively freezing weather, in a costume of plastic & metal, under a bag, completely separate from the stage "why the hell are we here.." 😂
As an American, hearing 'I was arrested, for behavior likely to cause a breach of the peace' is the most hilariously British shit I have ever heard.
As a norwegian, hearing «a toddler with a machine gun shot up a mall, imprisonment causes riots because people are offended» is a very american thing and one i expect soon in the papers 😂
@@DJHumla What the fuck is wrong with you?
@@DJHumlaAs a Canadian, I would be shocked if I heard anything about your country at all
@@SirSealandLister as a Norwegian i would be shocked too 😂 even though we just became the richest country on earth without a shadow of doubt since we just found phosphorus here. We have more than all of the other countries in the world combined of the stuff, on top of export, oil and weapon production, yet no one (not even norwegians themselves) heard about it 😅 i dont think our foreign news-agencies are very good 😂
@@DJHumlanice to hear that the anti gun propaganda your masters are pushing is keeping you in line. I might be impressed with your country if i couldn’t jog across it in five hours.
1:19 "You bring a presence"
Charles Dance: "You're goddamn right"
I'm sorry you cannot say that and not hear Heisenberg voice instead.
You can say he was flattered
It's amazing how sometimes when actors play very iconic roles for a long time, they get tired of being referred to as "that one character", see Stephen Ogg with Trevor from GTA5.
With Charles Dance, one would think that'd be the case, it could even be justified, considering how good and experienced of an actor he is. But instead, he embraces it and he's even playful about it. Amazing gentleman all around.
think Alex Guinness getting annoyed for all the attention he got for being Obi-wan Kenobi
i think Charles Dance feels he did a brilliant job with Tywin and appreciates that people recognize that.
@@samogonbrotherHe's so right then, at least in the top 3 best GOT performances, maybe even the best.
@@genossejannikov8219 What´s your potential 2 others? I can´t think of any character in GoT who was so ON POINT with his delivery and captivated me like that. Maybe Tyrion during season 2 - 5, but his great downfall in 6-8 broke my heart :D
Tywin is just perfect in every way, couldn´t have been played better in my opinion. Everyone else has their highs and lows. He´s just IT all the time.
@@MP.893 Lena Headey for me. Dinklage did extremely well, but if you factor writing into it then he was certainly downgraded in S5-7 and butchered in S8. Cersei was not only portrayed beautifully by Lena, but was also consistently entertaining for at least 6, arguably 7 seasons. It's only in S8 where even she was shoved into the background and given (relatively) little to do.
There's also Alfie Allen who really sells you on Theon's specific mix between annoying-as-shit entitled asshole and sincere softboy underneath. You really buy his transformation, and the fact that his conclusion in S8 is one of the better ones certainly helps.
OMFG that face at 1:20. They flattered the shit out of him and got him square on the jaw.
Charles Dance is probably the most likeable and legendary actor in the entire show's cast.
Tywin is the GOAT
"You were very scary."
"Good!"
Lmao!!!
Even when he's being an evil prick, Dance brings such glorious elegance and badassery to his characters
"Where's my chequebook"
Remember, a Lannister always pay his debts!
0:17 He spoke the absolute truth
He has so much charm that during the show I secretly wanted Tywin to become like an anti hero so I could fully root for him
He truly was the anti hero because all Tywin really wanted was peace in the seven Kingdoms ruled by a strong and wise ruler and his house to survive, not necessarily him ruling
@@EzEcro He absolutely did want the Lannisters at the top, I agree with everything else you said.
who said he wasn't. Everyone in the books and book based show were colliding against one another to acheive their goals, he just happened to be ruthless while doing it.
This dude is just a chad without even trying.
He intimidates me even when out of character.
The way he just spits out his disdain for sponsors. *chef's kiss*
No one else could have played Tywin Lannister.
Truly an actor on par with Sir Christopher Lee in terms of his ability to portray a truly menacing villain.
Man, I was just looking for this the other day and was surprised to see it missing, but I'm glad it's back :D
He still behaves like Tyrwin in real life, except he smiles and laugh
.😂
His Phantom of the Opera is amazing. Love Charles Dance, his voice is the best. ❤
LAST ACTION HERO:
"HELLO! I just shot a man!?"
..360° FTW...
Why have we not got Charles Dance reading all the game of thrones books his voice and way of speaking would really make it great.
and pausing to give Tywin's insight when a major event stars or ends.
Aww makes me sad to know DnD made him and the whole crew work under harsh conditions when it wasn't necessary. Those 2 were lucky George liked them enough to let them borrow his baby
if only Christopher Lee and him could conversate in interviews- how charming and grim qualities clash and ravish the audience.
Love how both Charles Dance and Stephen Dillane both played badass, pragmatic characters beloved by the fandom, both disliked DnD's writing and both turned in some of the best performances on the show... and both are pretty much just Tywin and Stannis in real life.
he reminds me of my grandfather
Yep, in some ways, mine too
^^ MY CHILDREN....hmphff
Joffrey?
Reminds me of mine too. A lot actually.
I hope he gets one more villainous big role in his lifetime. James Bond, MCU etc...
MCU? That's be a huge downgrade
He was INSANE in Dracula Untold - the most chilling role I've ever saw, not bluffing his other roles, that was an epic role!
@@TheEtherny why ?
He'd actually make a superb M or Q in the Bond reboot
@@TheEthernyGet rid of the stick you have in your butt.
I would have loved a spin off series of just Tywin.
The man has real talent. Honestly, I can't imagine anyone else properly portraying Tywin Lannister. And yes, I've read the books and seen the show. Charles is the best.
He is the definition of what I think of when I think of a proper British man. His way of speaking is amazing.
That 2:10 this could literally be Tywin doing his best to be cordial while also making it clear he doesn’t respect someone
He is a legend. And honestly how he talks about investors is just such a sad example of why movies these days aren't worth crap.
everytime he was commented about Tyrion killing him, I couldn't help but imagine this conversation must've happened in the afterlife.
He basically speaks in the same manner, no acting really lol, dude was born with it.
Who here first remembered Charles Dance for his scenes with Sigourney Weaver in the prison planet in Alien 3 by David Fincher?
his intonation is just so commanding
Dude has that old Elegant british lord Charisma 😅
I know Charles dance has had a lot of roles but I think it’s pretty clear, Tywin will be the one he is remembered most for, I hope he’s okay with that cause it was truly an incredible performance
have to agree tho givin the whole story tywin was overall a pretty good dude. even had a somewhat sense of honor
this guy definitely belongs to the medieval era
I imagine his portrayal was probably the most true to life for English noblemen with martial backgrounds
This guy would make an amazing judge Claude Frollo if Disney ever had the balls to make a live-action "hunchback of Notre Dame"
Hes an amazing actor and his voice matches him so well.
I never sore Tywin as a villain, he's more complicated than that, he's more like a Snape from harry Potter, feared but not at all a villain.
Everyone has their favorite book-TV actor; Charles is by far my personal favorite. He just nailed Tywin, IMO.
Any man who must say, 'I am the king' is no true king.
The 5 best characters on the show Tywin Lannister, The Hound, Arya Stark, Stannis and Bronn.
Not Tyrion?
Sir you are right it is a crime if you don't include Tyrion
@@stephenford6132 Indeed it is. I very much agree with the rest of the list(except for Stannis, didn't like him all that much).
I'd totally agree, except I'd replace Arya with Cersei or Jaime
Replace Arya with Davos and you gave my top 5
1:12 that grin at saying "Tywin"
Just Charles Dance being an absolute legend for three and a half minutes.
I know he played Louis Mountbatten in The Crown but he would of made a good Prince Phillip.
Now that you say it, I think I'd have much preferred him over Jonathan Pryce (though he's a great actor, too, of course)
Charles Dance is such a treasure! Wouldn't you love to have his voice and deportment, or at the very least have him as your uncle?
Dude sounds like he smoked a pack before every interview
my favourite part is how fed up he is about the tyrion toilet incident question
I want an hour long video of Charles Dance criticising the bad writing
I will sign a check for this
Such a great actor. So perfect for his role. Unbeatable.
An Imortal Character in Game of Thrones ⚔️
At around 2 minutes, I see Jack Gleason (Joffrey) sitting next to Charles. I really wish GOT fans werent so cruel to Gleason. He is an incredible actor and owned the role of Joffrey. I dont think anybody in the world could play him better.
we need him to narrate George R. R. Martin books and his voice should be sampled as much as possible and kept for future .
He would be perfect fit for Andross Guile if Lightbringer ever gets adapted!
he is british and I can understand what he says: such an unusual combination
Tywin Lannister is not dead, he still lives in this era as charles Dance
он одним голосом играет лучше чем большинство современных актеров
What an amazing character as Tywin.
I really want a tv series of Tywin Lannister in his youth
1:13 has to be closest I've ever seen him to being truly joyful on screen.
My dear sweet brother Numpsie!
Who let Tywin Lannister time travel and escape into our world ??
10 seconds in... "i was confused"🤣🤣 i am dead! Love charles energy! I wanna have that mans passion for life some day! Ah gwan ya blaagard ya 🤣👏
I think Charles is on par with Christoper Lee, there are not many like them! I think he's a fantastic actor, and really down down to earth.
My first impression of this guy was from Alien 3, and he did a damn good job in that movie.
Mr Dance was so good in that role, that he dramatically changed, how I perceived Tywin Lannister as a character. I love how act. Mr Dance as Tywin was badass, strong, terribly intelligent and uncompromising. That's how guy, who has power, should behave.
Imagine being a starbucks barista and having Tywin Lannister mad at you for making his latte wrong.
I was just watching a show from the 1990s, Dance was great a playing a menacing, rich bastard decades before Tywin.
I'm sure I'm not the only one to point out the resemblance with the late Sir Christopher Lee: the villainous visage, dignified air and deep vocal cadence
For me bcos of his performance as this char he stands the same level as Anthony Hopkins
yep, they're both very high class actors. Similar to Christopher Lee, imo. Not as badass as Lee but then again no one is
Definitely my favorite character so wise and no tolerance for stupidity
what makes it better is how much he enjoyed the character. its those who love what they do who do the best job!
There is a ''win'' in Tywin.
"You were very scary"
"Good"
Love this guy
he was the absolute best choice for Tywin
charles dance and christopher lee have that deep british voice that just screams power and prestige to you
I mean he's a good predictable powerhead in a realm. You either want him or Ned doing it
Just remember he tried to kill the golden child!!! Before Peter Dinklage stopped him it was Eddie Murphy!! 😂
I remember watching him in The Last Action Hero and kept wondering why I never saw him in a major production again. Then GoT came.
Charles Dance can get it. I’ll die on that hill. I’ll even defend it to my husband. I think he’d agree. ❤❤❤
Oh no, you're right. He can definitely get it.
Tywin is great.
He's known as Tywin Lannister but he will always be the master vampire to me😂😂
