On my long trips. As soon as the sun sets or the majority is off the hwys. The nightmare starts as soon as everyone wakes up and gets on the hwys. I love night driving. So peaceful. I get to use cruise control.
Tipping. Here's my take. Unless I'm seated at a table, and a server takes my order and brings it to me, I don't tip. if I'm ordering at a counter or kiosk, no tip. Tips are for good service provided by generally underpaid waitstaff, not someone doing the job they were hired to do, and getting a standard hourly rate to do it.
Overslept? Oh well, life happens sometimes. Stay safe.

I live in Pennsylvania between Philadelphia and Lancaster pa and there's a rd it's Pennsylvania rt 10 a state rd and a busy rd to and a lot of people use rt 10 as a short cut to get from interstate 95 to the Pennsylvania turnpike a few weeks ago they were repaving rt 10 and they did a lot of the road work at night

Gotta say as a former trucker kudos on how you take them round abouts truckers up here in lacrosse wi they take both lanes and when folks aint paying attention it does give me some good laughs but i say to myself idk how they cant manage the same stay safe its crazy out there amd glad they waived your late fee kudos to them as well

Late charge? What is the bonus for being early? My former cardiologist started the same thing. I asked if the policy was both ways, the gal out front got pissed and raised her voice and shared her bad attitude with me. When doc cam in an hour after my appointment was scheduled he was a bit snippy. Done, no more. He is part of a large group of cardiologist. I will be talking to one of the owners.
My KW wouldn’t have known what to do, if I started it in sunshine. To me, the nighttime always worked best for me too. Stay safe!

That exactly why I had an alarm clock that would wake the dead.i never overslept.couple times woke the guys up on either side of me.i hauled a few loads that they would fine you for showing up more than an hour earlier than your appt.didnt haul those after that.i knew about ahead of time so didnt show up early.

Hate traffic like that, well if you plain sit still it is one thing but if you keep moving slowly the drive time just vanish, here in Sweden i have max 4.5h of drive time then i need a 45 minute break.
Credit to the guys laying asphalt in that heat, can't be fun.

I hear you about the kiosk asking for a tip. I get groceries delivered, and there is an option when ordering to include a tip. I have no idea whether the delivery driver actually gets the tip or not, and if so it's probably included in their paychecks with taxes taken out. I've been putting cash in an envelope and hanging it on my door for them when I get the "Your Delivery Is Next" notification. A tip is between me and the actual service provider. The company doesn't get it's hands in that pie.

Hey Kurt , May I suggest a alarm clock so you can set the time you want to sleep and a alarm will wake you up when its time to be there for your delivery.. I'm in noway a trucker and don't mean to be a know it all. Just a suggestion..

Shortcut 65 to 38th street over to 465 then two miles to 74
I live on Ohio and steak-n-shake has gone from actual humans to kiosk which is sad but I usually get the Frisco melt and the fries
Re- Ind-32 at I-74 .... maybe giving precedence to eastbound, to prevent backups onto the I-74 mainline from the I-74 eastbound off-ramp? They could've done something else, like close that exit... but that would've been harder... detour signs & barricades.

The real problem with driving at night - at least for me - is sleeping during the day. I have never been able to change my sleeping habits around without my butt starting to drag in very short order.

Up sets me how they can in force the late policy, but alot of them I go to there’s no recourse when you’re on time and they miss the appointment by 2-3 hours. It’s just lop sided

States like Indiana is why I only run out west. The only time I have to worry about that crap is when I get into Phoenix or the San Francisco area. And I'm gonna say it. I'd rather drive through L.A as to drive 1 mile in Indiana🧐
