Just finished building my chair after owning the plans and watching this video for years! I can't believe I did it all by myself. Still need to sand and seal it but it was a fun and rewarding project. Thank you Pete
I made your original double chair for a retiring colleague. She loved it!
Thanks.
That’s awesome! What a great gift!
So glad you started making videos again, hands down my favorite content creator.
Thanks Tyler! Great to hear from you and I hope all is well!
thnx for sharing, best double chair video on RUclips
You’re the man Pete! Instructions are always so clear and detailed - great job mate! All the way from Sydney, Australia
Thanks so much Adam! Hope all is well down in Australia!
Thanks
Your double chair was the very first thing I ever built and that was in April. I have been hooked ever since! Thank you!
Awesome to hear Amanda! Keep up the good work!
Brilliant Pete and i remember getting the plans for the first Double Seat that you did as well, this version is much much better with that little Table and Cup Holder enclosed.
I still can't wrap my head around the cracking views from your house, you and your wife must be so happy sitting there with those views, i know me and my wife would be.
Stay Safe,
Barry (ENG)
Hey Barry! Yeah I am liking the new version as well :) Britt and I definitely love enjoying the patio and spending time outside. Hope all is well across the pond, and that you and your family have a great Christmas! Cheers!
Your videos are hands-down the best on RUclips. Thanks so much, Pete
*🛑 Mantap, keren & sangat bermanfaat.*
Terimakasih atas ilmunya, Semoga sukses selalu, Is the best.. 💓👍👍👍
I built the single chair. Works great
Awesome Sam!
Great job with this! I think my next iteration of this bench will be this version. I made your original version a few years ago; finished it 2 weeks before Hurricane Harvey hit us and we got 7 straight days of rain. That nearly stripped all of the "outdoor oil" finish I put on but structurally it's still going strong in the backyard. I am looking forward to making something new and fresh in the coming years. Thanks for your content, Pete.
Great to hear from you Chuck! Great job on the first build of the bench and I hope you are able to get a new finish on it when the weather is right for it:) Cheers and thanks so much for following the videos!
COOL JOB! 😊
Awesome work, and way to go with the video, couldn't ask for a better teacher , and thanks for the free download , making one now for the wife. you also have a beautiful view of the mountains and snow
lSubscribed for 4 reasons.
1. Simple, do-able build with cheap affordable material.
2. Well filmed and explained.
3. Looks good and solid.
4. Your name is Pete, (and if I had a build channel, I'd want to call it DIY Pete, but i can't now).
This was brilliant as is the scenery!!!
Great project, Pete! I have been waiting for the Florida heat to end and winter to start so I can build a double bench using your old plans, but now I am going to use the new plans and add that storage compartment!
Great to hear! I hope it cools down for ya soon!
Awsome build buddy that turned out great I’m going to try that
I love your work, I'm going to try this.
Хорошая работа!
Great build! My only upgrade idea would be to make the box a framed cooler with drain valve twist underneath to drain water from ice.
Enjoyed it Pete
Wow Pete, what an epic version 2!
Great work 👏 awesome video.
Thanks Scott! You da man!
Very useful and interesting video. You are a professional in your field.
Great plans thanks from Melbourne Australia
Awesome looking chair Pete. Love to have that on my deck.
Thanks Mike! Hope all is going well, and amazing work with your youtube channel. You concrete expertise is top notch. Cheers and have a great weekend!
Thats AWESOME!
Thank you Stephen!
Almost done with this project. Just need to do the box and then we're using exterior paint to match our current colors. I actually bought the plans because I've tried other projects rewinding the video and honestly it got annoying to me. The plans are really easy to follow! Thanks for the idea fam.
Thanks so much Ed! Great to hear the plans were helpful and easy to follow :) Cheers!
It always a pleasure to watch your videos ! ;)
Thanks so much!
My summer project goal!!!
Love watching your videos. One thing though and this is education not hate. Nominal lumber sizing is what you referred to as actual size. I believe what you are referring to is dimensional lumber being actual 2“ x 4“ and so on. Nominal lumber would be inch and 1/2 x 3 1/2. Please keep the great videos coming
Awesome video as always
Thanks for watching Robert!
You did a great job man!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Great project I am going to have to build some of these.
A design idea could be to make it a full three seater bench with a modular console/storage so it could be removed to make more seating area or left on for the intended use of storage.
Okay, I need a hobby and this seems like a good one. I will start with investing in a used miter saw.
Ótimo projeto...consegui fazer 4 bancos.showwwwww
As usual nice work Pete, and oh that view!
Thanks for sharing,
DC
You bet Dan! Thanks for watching!
Very wonderful
Отличный видос! Все предельно понятно.
Отличная лавочка!
Hi Pete . Im Make 1 chair and looking great 👍 timber use c24 and size frame 95x45 . It’s strong and good thank you for plan 😉👌 Scotland
Hi Pete I'm so new at this cutting my 15° Angeles I made a big mistake. Silly me I didn't cut them at oppaset side's 15° Angeles but at the same Angeles. Sometimes it just BEEZZZ THAT WAY! We live and learn don't we? So I had to purchase more wood to do the correct cuts. One thing is the wood here in Thailand is quite different in size but I bought wood as close to size as I could. Plus the wood here is all rough cut not smooth. Like the wood you purchased in Montana Lowes. I know you said cut as you go! Actually I cut the all of the wood pieces. Except for the final part of the project. The storage box corner pieces.
I got stopped at the beginning building the frame with the two sides. Take care from Thailand. Bur I don't think that you are going to reply to my comment I see you only replying to just a few people. Take care from Thailand.
Awesome brutha. Good build and what a view.
Thanks Harry! I hope you have a great weekend!
Great DIY project, Pete. I like the design, and I am going to build a couple for next spring and summer.
Thanks for sharing. Felix.
Great to hear from you Felix! Sounds great and have a good day!
Teu kadeuleu jeulas ah video teh.... Tulisana ngahalangan...🔥🔥
Very nice Pete. Ill be building 3 of these for around a fire pit. Thanks for the knowledge. Cheers from Alberta!
Hey Shaun! Great to hear from you and hope things are well up in Alberta! That is awesome you are going to deck out your fire pit area with double chairs. You'll have all sorts of seating to entertain. Cheers!
Pete! great build, so great to see you making some man glitter again. Hope your doing well, stay safe and have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks Rich! Hope you are having a great week, and Merry Christmas to your family!
excellent video, just a newbie here and been looking something like this to build for first time.. you make it so much easier between the plans and the vids. thanks
Hey Charles! Welcome aboard :) This would definitely be a great sill building project and it is super rewarding to build in my experience. Best of luck with your upcoming projects and let me know how it goes if you build it!
Thanks Pete. I really enjoyed the video hope I can do as well as you.
You will do a great job! Have fun with the build :)
Not exactly the same but here is my table. Made it for my son's pool area. Mostly reclaimed wood. I will incorporate the drink holders.
Good design!
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome video as always! But I will have to say the view of the mountains in Montana were way better than any video! Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks! Will do!
Great video. I love the idea of the storage area, great idea !

Awesome thank you for a great idea
You are so welcome!
Always look forward to a DIY PETE video in my sub feed. Well done friend!
Thanks JP! And always good hearing from you :) Have a great Sunday!
Great video!
I had already planned to build your first version of the bench but now that I see this I will build this version instead.
Thanks for the inspiration and greetings from Stockholm
Very nice. I want to build one now
Awesome Chris! Still finalizing my plans for it but those will be ready to go Tuesday. Hope you have a great Sunday!
I’m planning on build a version of this bench this weekend and purchased your plans. What size cooler do you recommend to use and you happen to have a plan on how to build the box around the cooler and rigging the lid?
Amazing build. Only alteration I did was to add length to and increased angles so the back rests had a bit more recline
Hey AJ! That's awesome you build it and came up with some modifications to best fit you family! What angle did you end up going with on yours? Mine are all 15 degrees and work great for bbq's etc, but probably not for a siesta :)
@@DIYPETE Yes sir I am a old man that sits out back with a cup a joe, fire pit burning and looking at the stars
@@professormoriarty703 Love it!
Excelente!!!
Thanks for watching Marcos!
Love this! Can't wait for the plans!
Thanks Ronny! Finalizing the plans and they will be ready on Tuesday. Cheers!
yo Pete, that looks like a beautiful place to live ! nice project, wife and doggo approved. :D
cheers from Italy !
Thanks so much! :) Hope things are well over in Italy! Cheers!
Awesome !!!!
Thanks Tim! Hope all is well man!
Nice.
Awesome
Very nice
Thanks Doc!
Good job.
Thanks Akhmad! Hope all is well bud!
That’s a nice chair, but I barely saw it once you were on your deck. That view!
Now....we need to figure out how to make that storage into a cooler!!! Lol
I agree!
I was thinking the same thing. options, build it around a coleman, igloo or rotomolded cooler, or simply line the storage area with 2" rigid "blue" board insulation. the best and easiest fix -- just make a drop-in opening where you can set your favorite 20 quart MADE IN USA cooler: Bison, Canyon, Cordova, Grizzly, Icon, Kenai, Orca, Otter Box, Pelican...
@@Clambelly My only issue with using a cooler is it looks really rednectified. I'm talking Samsonite luggage at the airport kind of rednectified!!!!
There are open top Poly containers made for this exact purpose, even double wall insulated varieties, but you are looking at a couple hundred bucks for a 40Qt size. I would put an RTIC in there before I spent that!
Great bench! Are the measurements the same on the first one compared to the first one?
Hi! This double chair with storage has wider chairs and taller backs than the original double chair project I did on the channel. It looks very similar, just has the storage and is wider etc.
Pete! love this- excited to build myself. I think we would all love to see an update video on the house! can already see some improvements to the exterior in this video! :)
Awesome to hear you may be building one too! I definitely agree an update video will have to be in order sometime :) Not sure if you saw the deck build video, but I show some of the siding footage and windows being added. I think I will wrap up with the upstairs guest bathroom and closets this winter and then could be ready for an update vid! Cheers!
Great video and great build. Question for Pete or for anyone who has built this double chair. Is the 15 degree angle confortable. The backs seems a bit upright to me. Changing the angle to lets say 18, 19..maybe even 20 degrees, would that throw off all the measurements in the plan or as long as you stick to same angle all will be ok?
You gotta be a Montana guy! Wilcoxsons Ice Cream is by far the best!!
haha Yup Wilcoxsons is the best! Gotta love Moose Tracks!
@DIY PETE Livingston is my Hometown
Awesome as usual. The simplicity of this build makes it very customizable.
Thanks Terri! Great to hear from you
Merry Christmas, Pete! You did it again, bro. Great job! I like the "blown away" part as always the case for every diy of yours. Stay safe!
Thanks so much Jess and Merry Christmas! Cheers!
Great video. I have a question for you. Are you making a backyard rink this year?
O my god 👏👏👏👏👏👏😍😍😍
great for lester
I love love love good job in Algeria we have good wood like le hêtre et bois de chêne but we have 'nt thé a good matériel or machine expert of this kind of work your sofa is so chic so élégant i hope to have one day but like a balançoire with white color you are very cleaver man and you have beautiful view enjoy with your fiancée fulllllllll like from thé mountains of djurdjura of kabylie berbère from Algeria
Thank you so much, I hope all is well in Algeria and take care!
@@DIYPETE yes all things is well and joyeux Noël merry Christmas
Great looking project.....will you be posting the plans on your website anytime soon? Thanks!
Hey Mark! They will be going up on the website within the next 24 hours. They took me a while longer to get done then I thought they would, but they are super detailed and will be worth the extra time it took to put together. Cheers!
@@DIYPETE thanks Pete. Going to tackle this project for a good friend for Christmas
Muito bom trabalho parabéns
Очень красиво! Класс!
Would you advise against using Kreg for the cross supports to hide the screws on the inside?
Hey Chop! I think if you used a Kreg jig with 2 1/2 inch pocket screws - and glue -- that you'd be fine for those cross supports.
@@DIYPETE Thanks! Love all the videos and plans, this one is next on my list!
Would you ba able to make an out door chest using a yeti??
Marine cup holders would also work for this project.
That mask you're using to make mitre cuts looks extremely comfortable...I can't find it online. What is it? Do you have a link for it?
Hey Pete, What spring loaded hinges did you use on the inside of the tabletop cover?
I noticed it on the last part of the video
Awesome work - Keep it up!
Are you going to do the ice rink this year?
I built 50 already sold alot and made for family members
Muito bom mesmo !
Hey DIYPETE! Are you making the outdoor ice hockey rink again this year? Would love to see more videos on that!
Thanks! Yep, the weather was a bit warm so we are finally skating as of the last week and a half. Will be showing the setup process in a video though, most likely later this month!
Would I be able to make it with straight 2x6?
