    Hello everyone,
    In this video I head into the woods with the OneTigris Rock Fortress hot tent for a quick overnight camp. The tent should make a good winter canoe camping tent I reckon, it's a cracking tent, great quality. This video is slightly longer than usual as I left the low calibre banter in which I usually edit out!
    Thanks for watching,
    Cheers! Ben.

    Awesome video, I love that you actually talk to the camera and your viewers. I’ve watched so many other solo camping videos that just focus on everything they do and the scenery but never talk to the people watching and even worse if they bring a dog along, never talk to it either, it always look so sad it’s heartbreaking. But this was great, loved hearing the stories and you made me chuckle a few times. Very entertaining, new sub here!

    Great video, I walk through the woods and forests at night anytime in UK no issue..................... mind you I was brought up on Dartmoor and as a kid used to rescue sheep who had wandered into the middle of very dangerous bogs; one mistake and you are gone deep down forever......... I have a very logical mind and me Gran (a Cornish lady) used to say to us kids........... 'don't be afraid of the dead as they cannot harm you, it is the living you need to be weary of!' Wise words indeed! Subscribed

    Great video! I have the Rock Fortress for Winter camping here in New England, USA. I loved seeing an external frame backpack being used! Best old backpacking rig I still have (someplace) is an old Kelty Tioga 5500. The still have a place in the rotation, especially for hunting! Thanks for the tent review - just subbed!

    Great Video Sir! thank you for posting. I have just bought one of these. I have got to the age where I am fed up of being cold when I camp, which tends to be Spring or Autumn. Tried hammocking, bought the tarps and the underblankets, but could never afford the sleep system to make it worthwhile. I don't do any backpacking nowadays so it doesn't justify paying extortionate prices for expensive lightweight gear. Looking forward to trying it in a blizzard! :) Although I will be a hundred yards from the car :)

I have the One Tigris Baker style, and, the One Tigris Iron wall hot tent, and I have showcased them both on my channel, and now that I have seen the Rock Fortress I will be getting one. The difference between with how I camp, is I use a motorcycle, and the .weight, and bulk of a tent is not a problem for me. Great video. I think that's a bargain! I agree though, those plastic rings on the guy lines definitely need changing and surprised they give those pegs with a tent that big. Apart from that, looks decent and clearly warm enough as you're in a tee shirt! My friend has bought an old farmhouse and a couple of hectares of land that he's allowing me to do some Bushcraft stuff (I know NOTHING about bushcraft) buti reckon a tent like this with a stove, especially here now with the cold, would be perfect. Hope to see it in more action on the canoe trip. As for ghosts in the woods, the thing that gets me every time is what I see in the sky! We're definitely not alone. Thanks again, great video. Cheers mate, it's a great tent! I noticed you were up in the mountains, sounds like a great place to relax for a while. I'd like to retire to an old farm, somewhere on the edge of the Pyrenees eventually, keep a few chickens and goats, grow a few olive trees etc.
      I sat in the garden for a couple of hours last night under a clear sky testing out some cold weather clothing as it was below freezing, and you're right, there's some weird stuff going on in the skies!
      Atb mate and enjoy the farmhouse 👍

      @@Adventure-Outdoors Sounds like you have the same dream as me, I'd love a small farmhouse up there. I'm currently south, not too far from Flix, but higher up. But yes, the Pyrenees is magical and you get all the seasons too. You can get cheap old farmhouses up there. There's one where I am now, 60k, acres and acres of land, house, all sorts of olive and fruit trees. Wish I could afford it, I'd snap his hand off! Keep looking for the 👽👽👽 ATB mate.

    Great review, single pole Teepee style ticks a lot of boxes, thrive not just survive. Good choice. Disagree with you on the pegs though, I think they are OK and you should use them in normal soil they're sized for the tent like pressure relief better to pull a peg out than tear your tent .it's a fine line I learned the expensive way lol atb.

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  2 года назад

      Thanks Roy. I think the pegs would be fine for string lines but they don't have any sort of catch for the buckle straps on the tent itself which are almost an inch wide, so the strap just slides off un hindered. Other than that, it's a canny tent! Atb mate.

      Hi, I don't think I've used the tent in heavy rain yet, but the odd shower has passed over and I didn't notice any water ingress. The flu exit has a roll up flap above it which will likely stop any rain running down through the exit.
      I've used the rubber flue collars on other tents and I've got a couple off them in my garage but I don't think it would be worth fitting one to this tent. I hope you enjoy the tent 👍

    The spirits of that ancient woodland probably approve of you, as you're felling the pines and planting oak, birch, chestnut and cherry in their place. I'd bet you are one human who's perfectly safe mucking about in that forest after dark. Unless, of course, you did run up face to face with the Jabberwocky. Everybody knows how unpredictable they are!

      I think I encountered the Jabberwocky a few months ago. It was a clear sky and full moon so I was walking without a torch and was stopped in my tracks by a loud growl ahead of me. I still have no idea what it was, nothing should make a noise like that in the woods, unless it was actually a stray dog but I'm sure I would've seen it if it was. Naturally I slowly backed off and then ran like hell!
