I enjoyed rummaging around in your draws Becky 😂
ROFL Girl! You're a hoot!
I am new to Power Tools with Thread. Love your videos. I am a cricket....however, until I get beautiful cabinets for my sewing studio....I am a bee.
You are a girl after my own heart!
oh my goodness you must be looking into my brain...you are speaking my language. I buy stuff I forgot I had. I learn so much from you...scan and cut, embroidery, quilting and sewing Thank you for all you do.
i use jewelry hanging holders for my buttons. Clear pockets make it so easy to find what i need,
Smart!
Great ideas. I am going through seeing items soon. Finishing painting.
Two coats of primer. Two coats of paint. Then, do touch ups . Then, remove old rug. Put down tiles.
Then, finally go through all fabrics, notions etc. will be done then.
Wow! That sounds like work! Have fun!
You inspired me to go through my Alex drawers and organize and label the drawers. I really enjoyed how your space ended up and your little containers for everything.
i am so glad to hear there is someone else like me. Now I know that I am a total B. If I put it out of sight, it's out of mind. Thank you!
Buttons look really fun in a big Mason jar on your station. Just an idea for color. It's helps see what you have. PS..I am a bee 🐝 🐝 too and I am currently decluttering. Happy Spring🎉😊.
Always good to see organizing videos for sewing space. I get lazy sometimes, not putting things back where they belong. As our sewing evolves we need to reassess our organization. Very timely video.
Thank you Becky❤
Thanks for sharing. What information you gave us was very helpful ❤️
Labeled ALEX drawers are my life in my quilting room! They fit perfectly under my cutting station and my ironing surface (both surfaces raised on IKEA expansion legs). I took lids off compartmentalized storage boxes for easy access (like for machine feet).
Smart! That's a great idea!
Ty. Oh I love your tshirt
I need to see what I have. Between quilting and embroidery I have a lot of stuff. Thanks for video. Can’t wait to do this Again when I get back home.
I’m the opposite with my dogs. They don’t go outside until they are dry. If they lay in dirt they will be muddy
I just finished re-organizing my sewing closets....... will definitely tackle the drawers soon too. Thanks for the tips and tricks!
Awesome use of your time and space!
Great tips! Thanks!!!
Good job done!!!
Even if you don’t end up throwing away or donating anything, it’s still nice to review what you have once in a while. I also recently did away with tracing paper and tracing wheel (from high school!). I figure there are much better marking methods now, if and when I sew a garment again.
Agree, I haven't touched that tracing paper in YEARS. But since I don't live near a sewing store like Hobby Lobby, I keep it out of the "you never know" thought. I should purge it but it's sitting there being very good and not taking up much space so it stays. lol
Thanks for this video I must get into my sewing area too. I straight away saw that bag for the PQ1500 as I have the exact tools for my machine
Good job 😊 I find it so helpful to handle the things as it reminds me of their story. Becky i would add to your list Karen Brown of Just Get It Done Quilts! She does an awesome challenge every Jan that really helps one reclaim their sewing room.💞. Only part i didn't like was the regrets 😢 Who taught you that? To have that much sorrow on your heart can't be good. Happy Sunday 🤗🫶
Nice work!! Had fun joining you, love to have my things organise. I will get my scan n cut 225DX thursday, because you help me so mych with your videos. Thank you very much❤
Excellent video
That is the issue with the Alex cabinets. You can't open it all the way and forget stuff is in the back. I see alot of folks on you tube, facebook and pinterest saying that is why they are moving away from Alex. I am using plastic cabinets now and can get to the back. Great video!!
I have the same shirt you are wearing….! My hubby sees one just like it on Facebook… (apparently has not paid attention to me wearing it ALOT)… he calls to the computer and says sweetheart… “look at this shirt… IT SAYS MAY THE QUARTER INCH BE WITH YOU”…. LOLOLOL
🤣🤣😀😊
It did motivate me!
YOu are inspiring me. The single needle plate may be identifiable either if it has a part # on the bag or you can look up the replacement parts for your machine model guesses and see if it matches.
Everything has to be out and seen. And I like big categories. So a butterfly. Mostly. Occasionally a bee. And I don't see any point in putting stuff away if I am just going to use it again later. Or the next day. Next week. Whatever.
Becky. On the Luminaire 2 just above the screen is magnitized and is where I put the new Brother stylus.
Great idea! I keep scissors there and I never thought about the stylus. Thanks!
I took the quiz and I’m a bee 🐝
😅 have bought the same thing more than once!
The bobbin case you took out of the bag had some information to figure out witch machine it went to 😢
I have been decluttering a lot, because of some things in my life. (For ex, husband's uncle, a terrible hoarder, died and left a HUGE mess.) Anyway, I "hopped" up onto a chair to get into a high cabinet, came crashing down onto the tile, and bruised my entire side and elbow very badly. I was lucky I did not break any ribs. This has laid me up for several weeks. Sneezing is so excruciating!! So lets all declutter, but use proper stepstools and be more careful!! Lesson learned!! lol
Oh no! Yes, safety first. I have a shelf that is precariously hanging on the wall in my storage area. It always freaks me out. I think I'll put it on Keith's HoneyDo list. lol I hope you heal quickly. ((hugs))
@@PowerToolsWithThread Thanks. It hurts a bit less each day.
The 2 Janome elastic feet yiu have are for the Janome coverstitch machine (the 900 or 1000 series)
Cool! I'll add them back into the Machine Feet drawer (after I label them that they are for the Janome 900 Coverstitch machine I have lol). Thanks! However, not sure why I have two???? :-D
I'm a Bee also!
Very timely video! I just put together 2 Alex drawers together and I’m reorganizing my sewing room. So many good ideas! Which label maker do you use?
I wish I could find the Rubbermaid storage case you show
I did the same thing today. Bathed my lab and bending over killed my back!
Loved this video. I have a set of drawers in my sewing room over in the corner that have not been gone through in 20 years. My next issue is excess machines. What do you do with useable sewing machines that are no longer needed?
If I had machines I no longer needed, I'd take them to a dealer for a trade in on something shiny & new! lol. They may not give much for older models, but you never know. They service them and resell so be sure to get a good price. Hold firm to whatever they are selling on eBay for. The dealer will sell it for a bit higher and tell the buyer they are offering a service warranty on the machine so it's a good deal for you and them. You don't have to go through the pain of selling/shipping it, you get the trade on a new machine, and the dealer makes a little money. :)
I think I’m a visual organizer, I guess. Lol. Lordy..
I love your thread tree. Unfortunately, my Janome embroidery arm is at the back of the machine, so I don’t think it would work for me.
How do you use the dental floss on the embroidery machine? I hate when a thread starts shredding and need to get it out of the needle area! Wohoo on finding the bobbins. I don’t use pre-wound in my Luminaire 2
I floss the machine just like I would a set of teeth. Run the floss through the thread path several times to grab and remove any loose threads or dust bunnies. I also do this right away if threads break up inside.
Thanks Becky..will have to give it a try!
Joining late
where did you get the small stylist for the Luminaire?
The new stylist for the Luminaire came as part of the XP3 upgrade.
I’m a 🐞 Ladybug
Loved the video. Very motivating! I will take the test. What Brother label maker do you use? Pittsburgh, PA
It's the Brother P-Touch. Here's the exact one I have amzn.to/42YMvVC but any of these will do. amzn.to/3BLs1Ug
@@PowerToolsWithThread Many thanks!
What kind and where did you get the label maker?
Here is the exact one I have. Love it! amzn.to/3ojz4Au
It's nice to see what you have so you don't rebuy especially fabric.
put your buttons in a jar.
MRS. Becky where did you get the patriotic panel behind you and what is it called?
That's a Timeless Treasures patriotic panel. They make a ton of them.
Becky, call and ask if she's using your steam press. It could be she isn't even using it. Quilters understand when you need something.
