How good was Eusébio actually? #GOAT
New episode of a documentary series where I plan to present all the greatest players of all time and then give them a score so a ranking of the best players can be created. In this episode we take on Eusébio who played for Benfica for most of his career , not only one of the greatest forwards of all time but one of the greatest players of all time. See how Eusébio ranks and just how good was he.
He had that deadly combination of African speed, raw power, elegance and explosive finishing power..The first of his kind and he template for the more modern day strikers such as R9 ,George Weah etc......Even CR7 said that he's the king of Portuguese football

He was born in Mozambique in 1942, his mother was a "Black" Mozambican, his father was a "White" Angolan. For us all three of them were Portuguese 'cause everyone in Mozambique and Angola born till 1975 were Portuguese. But even if you wanna enter the ethnicity field he was as much African as European.
As are Zillions of Peole born in Mozambique, Angola, Guiné-Bissau, Cabo Verde, São Tomé and Brasil. As Millions of People born in Portugal.

Yes they did, on match day the English made portugal travel from liverpool where the match was scheduled to be played, and instead reschedule to London. Travelling by bus those days on old buses rocky roads hours and hours and then to play a world Cup semi final. And one thing that is been hidden by the media is that eusebio had at least 6 goals ruled for offside in that game against England. You can watch the whole game now in color, it was incredible.

Tendo em conta a quantidade de jogos que ele fez lesionado (o que mais tarde se refletiu num fim prematuro da carreira) e mesmo assim teve estes resultados, gostava de saber onde é que ele poderia chegar nos dias de hoje, com os avanços tecnológicos na medicina de desporto, nutrição, metodologia de treino, tácticas,... no tempo em que ele disputou o Mundial acho que nem substituições havia. :)
Acho que aos dias de hoje ele seria fisicamente um Lukaku com a técnica e definição de um Van Persie.

Salazar was not a Benfica fan, that's the biggest lie ever told. Salazar was a Sporting fan, and there are many evidences of that. The reason that Eusébio never leaft Portugal was because, in spite of Salazar hated Benfica (known at the time for being the club of the people, used the red as his hated communist party) he was a patriot, and at the time, Portugal was Eusébio and Amália. Benfica had his sale already made to Inter de Milan, making a record sale at the time, and Benfica wanted the money to build a new stadium. Salazar, not wanting Benfica to get richer then Sporting and not wanting one of Portugal simbols playing in Spain stopped the sale.
