    Excellent comparison! 👍🏻
I own both (Victorinox Swisstool and Leatherman Surge) and I find the Swisstool to be much more practical as well as far more refined and much better built than the Surge.
The attention to detail, smoothness, comfort of use and overall precision on the Swisstool is just second to none and unsurpassed by any other multitool I've tried so far.
Absolute winner for me: the Swisstool. 🥇

I have owned all the multitools in the video except the Gerber Center Drive. I sold the Surge because the handles pinched my hand when using the pliers and were too large for my grip. The Super Tool 300 and Victorinox Swisstool are excellent. All of these tools are too heavy to carry on my belt so I carry tools in a lower weight class, e.g., Leatherman Free P4, Rebar, Spirit, etc. Thanks for the video.

My vote is for the Gerber center drive. I like the surge too but I stripped a few screws with the 2d Phillips, plus I carried it with a pocket clip and it’s noticeable heavy to carry all day.the surge is well built. Definitely one I would pick if I was in a survival situation. Surge is my 2nd choice tho it’s a great all around tool

I don't know if you remember when I commented on the Gerber 600 but I kind of fix the problem finding out myself when you open a tool one-at-a-time it does lock but when I had multiple tools open I noticed it didn't lock but the reason for that was you have to have every tool locked so there's really nothing wrong with that and I noticed some other tools are the same way you have to have every tool completely locked not have flocked anyways just food for thought

Great vid, Ty. Agreed. Working in a warehouse I started with the Rebar. It was okay, yet, often not enough for excessive unpackaging, twisting, grabbing, and pulling. In 2016, my wonderful wife gifted me with the "new" Surge and all the whining stopped! The Surge is a warehouse mighty tool!! Its larger, tougher, size makes it perfect for the hardest big box storage, strapping, and wrapping projects. Began edc with the PST in the early 90s; moved on to the Blast (which is my fav Leatherman) but set it on the shelf after 2016 when I couldn't find another one for replacement; ending with the Rebar for edc (after it graduated from the warehouse). I think the surge is definitely king as well. And I've tried so many brands over the years. I once bought a center drive on the spot to try since I didn't have my surge on me while at work, and as soon as I opened it I laughed, it was extremely underwhelming. The quality just isn't there, and the handle is just atrocious, an a symmetrical nightmare. I also hated how rattley it was, just doesn't instill any confidence. I sold that on ebay so fast. Leatherman just does it right. Amazing quality, tools that work, last, and I love their customer service.

"Leatherman Surge New Tool Mod" is the title for my video where I went into more depth about this mod. It is not an official release nor can you buy this anywhere that I'm aware of. What you need is a cheap scalpel knife from eBay or Amazon. Then you grind the metal handle to fit the t shank adapter. It might take 40 minutes or so, it's not extremely difficult. Then you have a knife that is always sharp!

I do. It's actually one of the most used tools. In residential you use it as a package opener, to cut insulation for line sets etc. In a pinch you can strip wire with it. Sometimes if there's nothing else on hand while not recommended it can be used to ream pipe or try to remove dirt from tubes. In commercial HVAC the knife again is a box opener, can remove insulation from large black iron pipes to chase down water leaks, etc.

A big flaw in the surge is the lack of the Phillips the 300 has, that bit driver is useless in any screw deeper than 1/2 inch, cars have a bunch of them inside. Of course I have proper tools but we all know how we sometimes forget them in the toolbox, and the multi tool slaves us the trip.
