- In 1991, Barbara Mandrell was a guest on the Geraldo Rivera Show. The Geraldo Rivera Show ran from 1987 - 1998. During this amazingly candid interview, Barbara discusses her New York Times best selling book, "Get to the Heart", as it goes to paperback, as well as her album, "Keys in the Mailbox." This is honestly one of the best interviews I have ever seen as Barbara speaks with great candor about her career.

How did I miss this interview back in the day? Thank you so much for posting this! I've never seen her this raw before in an interview. She is truly amazing! She is the Queen of Country Music!!

I wonder how many ppl have been to her concerts that were atheists and heard her acknowledge and give praise to God and sing gospel songs, and knew where she stood with her relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and stayed until the concert was over.
Beautiful woman and i loved the show they ( sisters ) had.
She knows her heart ♥️ & that her precious Savior lives in the center of that place. She prays, trusts & forages onward with a mighty stamina. She’s the best of the best in the Country Music industry

I would walk barefoot to anywhere in America to see her come back just one night.I was born just a couple years too late to really appreciate her until after she'd retired.
I saw her in concert more than 40 times! She was one of a kind!

She is very genuine, honest, stunning, a music genius, strong, intelligent, gutsy and confident. She knows her gifts were given from God above, and honors/respects her gifts. 😊 She and Dolly are awesome and great friends!❤
(Geraldo can be a very insensitive host. He kept interrupting her and to say she was too busy to raise her first two was rude. She had them with her all the time, a wonderful husband, parents and sisters thst helped her. You can tell she was uncomfortable with his questions/style.)

I had NO IDEA Barbara Mandrell was on Geraldo. That’s really wild. God I adored - still and will always adore that woman. Disturbing to see Geraldo purposely bringing up extremely painful, personal things that BM is obviously resisting and uncomfortable with- I had forgotten how his show operated, how he spoke to guests, the blech-type q’s the slimy flirtation &why I didn’t watch it. Really glad she used it as a platform for seatbelt advocacy. We forget how car safety/seat belts/kids car seats etc were NOT common or even nonexistent. But I do not like Geraldo or this interview style.

Where is Barbara now?
She retired from the music business in 1997 and still lives in the Nashville area. She rarely makes public appearances anymore.
