    Now we just need a long range scanner so the Enhanced AX weapons become usable against interceptors.

      @@grandreefer Well, since June 2021, when I proposed a large-scale thargoid raid to Bruce G, I proposed removing ax limits and expanding the range of the scanner, the raid thing happened, now the limit ax, the scanner and meta module updates are missing, which comes with the Boragines combat, without guardian weapons

      There is a new thread where they are taking feedback on the Thargoid war and in the beginning it was explicitly stated that they are aware of people being unhappy with the Xeno-Scanner range.

      @@Kissamiess it is still possible to use, even with the 100% hostile bugs. You just have to tank an entire shield drain attack, which usually gives you just enough time to get a scan in.
      Still think a 1km ranged scanner, even 750m, would still be balanced.

      @@sgt.squirtle2528 Ah, but the interceptors don't start throwing lightning attacks before losing the first heart. If you have such weapons that you need a scan to take any hearts, you can't get to that point. If you can take hearts without scan, why bother intentionally tanking lightning? There are few scenarios I can imagine, but they are pretty conditional.

    I’m glad the limit will be removed. Only the “solution” doesn’t make sense for human AX weapons.

      Pretty sure it’s referring to the overall limit of four and not just the ax weapons. Fdev is usually pretty cryptic about this stuff but the limit was first applied across all those weapon types so I imagine this will increase the limit across all.

    Why not just have 1 module that removes the limit entirely... did they really need to make different sizes for additional hard points? I think the biggest part of this that bothers me is that I still can't set up my type 10 with a full outfit of ax weapons

      It's how shallowly arbitrary the AX weapons cap is.
      Why have an in game lore, purposely designed anti bug ship in the game like the T-10 when you can't have anymore firepower than a medium ship?

      Maybe you can install two or more of these internal modules to increase the total weapon amount, at the cost of module slots available for HRPs and MRPs. Who knows at this point 🤷

    Stop the hate train guys this module is just announced please just wait till its launched then we can try and see if they allow only increase in human weapons or all (guardian too) how big the moduel size will be 8 (hell no) maybe 5 or 6 and its good. its for balancing things you just want fire power without any draw backs, ys its fun but not good for game

      The thing is that the restriction of guardian weapons is fine and makes sense balance(especially PVP) wise and even internal lore wise. Big alien weapons are difficult for the ships to handle, alright fine.
      The AX restriction is an entirely arbitrary kneecapping that heavily restricts the larger ships.
      There's a reason so many kraits and alliance ships are at the front and less large ships. Let alone T-10s, the ship literally designed to fight bugs but is comparatively useless in actual gameplay.

    human ax weapons should have no limit no extra module required. since after all you can equip a type 10 with all advanced multi cannons and synth ax ammo and have 9 ax weapons

    It's a pretty smart solution to the 4-weapon limit. Unlimited high-powered AX weapons would have us mowing down the Medusa and Hydra in their thousands, and that would have made the end-game baddies a trivial joke.
    This way we can build a ship bristling with guns but vulnerable to damage, or a more tanky build which takes longer to kill enemies.
    It also opens the door to even more ship build theorising and testing.

      No, medusas and hydras would still be very hard. Right now, the greatest limiting factors are aiming accuracy, heatsink count, and convergence. Just 3 medium gauss is enough to kill any interceptor, if carrying 4x med gauss you need to split them into fire groups to about overheating.
      More AX weapons would help out in AXCZs almost exclusively where scouts would stop being such a pain, or some meme build where a Corvette or something is covered in Shard cannons.

    It's Frontier's policy, (almost) nothing is free, so most likely it will probably cost our time (more grind). I assume in this case module will be unlockable (or even buyable) via tech brokers, probably only azimuth one's.

      @@SageKing09816 there is sense in the restrictions on the extremely powerful guardian weapons.
      The limits on human made ax weaponry is entirely arbitrary, they're not fundamentally different from standard human weaponry other than the specially coated anti xeno ammunition.

    The module theme doesn't make sense for a game unless you look at the games corporations as an actual corporation, they want to make money that's why they didn't just give us a single module to unlock all the hard points
