really good tutorial but for the end of the intro im pretty sure jamie just moves the same shape to the last 3 frets (instead of moving it up one string)

Man that bar across the 11th fret on the G and B string is not fun

Yeah it's quite an awkward stretch isn't it. If you're having trouble with it, take it slow and just practice getting your hand into that shape without playing any other chords/notes. Shake your hand out so it loses the shape and then try play it again so you find the shape again. Just slowly build up to getting into the shape accurately. Hope your hand doesn't hurt too much! :)
