I agree with you, Vernon. I'm not a fan of Handel's offering of "The Messiah," as it is often done poorly and for the sake of doing it, IMHO. As a musician, I don't find it particularly interesting nor beautiful; however, the text is unmistakably strong, as it is direct scripture. Having said all that, my favorite chorus is "And With His Stripes We are Healed."

I am so proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and to have the blessings of listening to this choir on a weekly basis. This is the first time I have watched this video, but it will certainly not be the last. The music and lyrics of The Messiah are to cherished frequently.
The Tabernacle Choir wonderfully expanded their repertoire when they added the full orchestra, as well as a full bell choir. I have sung in three performances of the Messiah in California, Washington and Nebraska, and have come to love the way the music and words from the King James Version of the Bible bring the Good News of the Savior, Jesus Christ, to life in the listeners' hearts.
The first time I was introduced to classical music was And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,in High School almost 40 years ago.This type of music was so soothing and most importantly was based on Scriptures esp our Saviour Jesus Christ. This is just THE BEST ever. I've done four "Messiah"s (alto) two in the Sydney Town Hall and two in the Sydney Opera House, back in the mid-late 90s. Got onto this, got out my old score and sang along. By golly, it made me feel good. In these dark times of covid and God only know what else you need something that lightens the heart and lifts the soul and this does it in spades. Thank you, thank you, thank you. A beautiful rendition that brought tears and cheers from this Aussie way down on the underside of the world. Bless you, people!

The scripture tells us that not everyone but only a few will accept or acknowledge Christ's sacrifice on their behalf.
The Book of Mormon revealed that there will be opposition in all things, light and darkness but the God of the universe Jesus Christ will prevail .
