    • @chatty45332

      You can think about it as a formula. N+1/2 N being our total observations (all the frequency added up together) + 1 divided by 2 because we are trying to find the average. So then we just add the frequencys in the table until we get to the value ex: 50.5. If your stuck on it I would watch corbettmaths median from a frequency table. Hope that helps. :)

    WHY DO WE ADD ONE TO THE INTERVAL RAHHHH

    • @1stClassMaths
      @1stClassMaths  4 месяца назад +3

      RAAAHHHHHHHH
      If we have a list the median is in the (n+1)/2 position.
      E.g. if we had the numbers
      5, 7, 10, 13, 19 then the median is 10. This is in the THIRD position. There are 5 numbers so we add 1 to get 6 then divide 2 to get 3 (third).
      If we had the numbers 1, 4, 5, 8, 10, 15, 18 then this time the median is 8, which is in the FOURTH position. There are 7 numbers in the list so 7 + 1 = 8. Then 8 divided by 2 = 4 (fourth).

    For question 13B I put CBD will be higher because if we make ADB higher by even 1, 180-81-33=66 angle DBA will be higher (66) and 180-66=114 so CBD will be higher because 114>113

    • @1stClassMaths
      @1stClassMaths  4 месяца назад +2

      Wrong way around. Louise's measurement is bigger than the true angle so her 32 is too high. It needs to reduce to say 31 like I showed in the video to become the real measurement.

    For question 15, you find the area of triangle CDB but the question asks for the area of triangle ABC which is the whole thing not just the right hand side of the triangle

    • @1stClassMaths
      @1stClassMaths  4 месяца назад

      Hi. Sadly you are incorrect.
      I find the area of triangle ABC as requested. If you check the text in the question it states that AB = 25 cm, so this is the base of triangle ABC and not triangle CDB. I know why you thought this but always read all the text in the question.

    • @1stClassMaths
      @1stClassMaths  4 месяца назад +1

      The word estimate doesn't always mean you should round. That is only if you are estimating the value to a calculation.
      The reason this question is an estimate is because we do not know the actual speeds so cannot be sure if it is the actual right answer. We just estimate using the midpoints.

      When we subtract them the "a" does not disappear.

      Think of "a" as "1a" if it helps.
