Me and my friends always wondered who the "evil blue guy" in Sakuretsu Armor was during our childhood (we didn't know Dark Lucius yet)... Years later, holy damn, I wasn't expecting his story to be so deep.
Another two very interesting things: At 3:40, when you look closely at the card The Paths of Destiny, you can see that there is actually a third route, directly in front of Dai Grepher since there is no tree blocking this third route. So there might be a possible neutral outcome for Dai Grepher as well. Also, judging from Dai Grepher's stance and overall body language in The Paths of Destiny, it seems like he took a step in direction of the light path, since his right foot shows in that direction and is the leading foot as you can clearly see in the shadow of Dai Grepher's legs. Even his sword leans more towards the light path and it is always said that a sword is an extension of a warrior's soul. However, Grepher himself seems hesitant to take the light path and looks to the dark path on the left. The front of his entire body (with exception of his right foot) is pointing towards the dark path, possibly hinting on Dai Grepher's eventual downfall.
And eater of millions, seems like he was eaten by that card during the encounter with his dark Lucius counterpart. Not sure why only one of them was eaten tho..
Alot of the card lore's tell an interesting story. So interesting in fact some fans are getting pissed the anime is based around some of the stories presented through the cards.

I would assume that Dai Grepher would be a version of Guts that didn’t have such a terrifying and literally scarring upbringing, but still ended up joining the Band of the Hawk.
There's also a Chaos Grepher in the OCG, which was probably the middle road in paths of destiny. Also it feels great to finally be confirmed in my theory that the guardians are the weapons themselves.
Probably the best one so far. I think it would be really interesting if you did a lore on the Pot cards. Always wanted to know why pot of greed broke into shards

It’s insane how many of the cards are connected to each other. Between this and the Gagagigo episode, I’ve seen so many cards that I love and that I’ve often used, be tied together into a cohesive narrative. I always just thought they were recurring characters used for the hell of it, maybe because the artists liked drawing those characters.

I think I can relate to Dai Grepher's peril, to a degree. And that music at the end... Aeris's theme really added the feels, a brother in arms was lost to us. So those of us that still adhere to our humanity(little though it may be for some), must carry on the fight and honor the man that was Warrior Dai Grepher!
Maybe because he's unformed, thus unable to be damaged, like if he was a dark slime monster. You can see on that anime quick-play spell how his sword goes through him but nothing happens (in fact, his sword breaks).

Knight Day Grepher was sucked inside the thing & ended up in another dimension along side with some other cards (if you look at the artwork of premature return) so that means his alive and then Dark Lucius managed to escape somehow I’m not sure how and began to evolve/grow more stronger. And I think you missed out on one version of Grepher which is Lightray Grepher. EDIT: 5:10 you also forgot that darkblade becomes a captain

Dai Grepher, I remember this guy. In one of the few 'Anime Rules' games I played, I managed to bullshit my way into having this card's ability as 'take control of an opponent's Dragon-Type or 'Dragon Named' monster'. Claimed control of Slifer the Sky Dragon and won the game.
When i was a kid and i would notice that some characters from other cards were in a card such as this situation it would give me such a sense of wonder as to what is going on and I always thought it was so cool. Really glad to finally be getting some closure

If you want one hell of story and want to feature a character from duel terminal you should look into my home boy Gem-Knight Crystal, someone who has been a part of 7 archetypes and features in ~11 altogether.

Think of Kiryu as just another dragon like how Dai Grepher rode on the dragon in Dragon Manipulater, but he fused with Spirit Ryu in the end. I have no clue why he didn't mention his retrain Captain of the Evil World is quite the promotion after all :P

If you consider Different Dimension Encounter to be Grepher meeting an alternate version of himself, then you should consider Rivals Unite to be a meeting of alternate versions of Grepher. There's a high chance that Dark Grepher is an different dimension version of Warrior Dai Grepher considering Painful Return is a card that's a part of the lore, he didn't appear without reason. It shows an injured Warrior Dai Grepher having to decide between two dark paths, Dark Lucius & Dark Grepher.

Warrior Dai Grepher reminds me a bit of Guts from Berserk.
He's definitely inspired from guts. I mean, there's even a timeline where he has a berserk armor like Guts hellhound form.

It shows an injured Warrior Dai Grepher having to decide between two dark paths, Dark Lucius & Dark Grepher.
