Hi Kelly So glad you showed how easy they are to make. I use to make these for my mom many years ago. She put them in her lingerie drawer. And then I noticed she stored Linens, clothing, seasonal Linens and any type if fabric decor in her steamer trunks. So one year for the holidays I made her a bunch to use in her trunks. The same idea just bigger and in shabby Chic fabric and decorated them to go better with the antique trunks. We lost mom in 2015 and dad in 2018 so the 6 girls have been cleaning up the 20+ acre farm. We found them when going through the trunks. Seeing them brought tears to my eyes. I realized then just how much she treasured them. I always knew she loved them but to see them after 50 years made my heart so full. TFS. Have a fabulous weekend. Take care and stay safe. God bless 💓🌹💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Kelly, I LOOOOOOOVE this idea and my grandmother owned a fabric store for years si I am set for life for 5 yards or less. Much of the fabric we donated to area schools for their theatrical dept and for the sewing classes for the girls who might not beable to afford the fabric. My mom and I kept 5 yards or less but I do have to tell you, fabric is my weakness and grandmother's shop was only open in the spring thru Sept because it was at the Jersey shore. Christmas fabric is my weakness so I buy lots when it goes 50% off. Same with Valentine fabric but that stash is very low. Walmart is an hr from me but , your fat qtr pack looked great. JoAnne's Fabric has a huge fat qtr section but they are pricy. My sister is close to a Walmart so after I visit my mom on Saturday I may venture over. I also love pinking shears and just 30 min ago used them. I ordered something from a woman on Instagram who has an Etsy shop and the item came today. I am sentimental as she sent a lovely note to me and I did pinking around the note to put in front of the journal she made. I have not made stuffed hearts for a long time and have only made envelopes out of cardstock. I am excited about this project. Thanks for all your great inspirations. Becky in Arlington, VA
This is so stinkin cute. I just turned the BIG 40 yesterday n told myself this is the year I'm going to learn to sew.. I dont know a thing about sewing. Wish me luck lol. I'm going to try one of these heart pillows they are so cute. TFS Kelly.
Oh my goodness, you knocked it out of the park. This takes me back to my childhood and so many precious memories of my great grandmother. She always had these in her drawers along with the most beautiful handkerchiefs . She used the embroidered handkerchiefs folded up with flower petals folded up and stitched inside. It was the ultimate famine secret we shared. Kelly I love you and thank you so much for bringing me back the memories.❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had these items already so I did a few & loved it. I wasn’t able to use hot glue so I used fabric glue & simple hand stitches. This is embarrassing but I did it in the dark because sadly, Covid hit me hard & I am going through a devastating divorce and can’t afford my utilities right now so if I can do it, anyone can. But this took my mind off of my worries and they are something I can give for gifts. (Not looking for pity. Just saying that this is a great idea. Also, I know others are struggling as well and you’re not alone. I know I’ll get through this because I have trust in God & I know you can get through this too). 💜💜💜
@Kay Bee. I know that you are not looking for pity...but, I want you to know that I am sending you good and positive vibes!!! That being said, isn't amazing how Kelly helps us to escape from this crazy world for a little bit and relax? I have found that my new love from crafting and my new "family" of crafters that inspire me on RUclips have been therapeutic for me. I finally put my social media account on hold for a while...too much political drama...and I concentrate on me a little more! Kelly is so wonderful and consistently has that beautiful smile on her face! Thank you, Kelly, for entertaining us in an intimate way...that makes us all feel like we are right there with you!
@@sudieysammy thank you honey that means everything to me! That is honed my goal during this time to be an outlet for those who need to escape life for just a bit and a happy place to go away from everything! Hugs to you❣️
@@sudieysammy you just touched my heart❣️you are one strong woman! Stay strong you will get through this I promise ☀️there’s a light at the end of every tunnel❣️
@@sudieysammy Thank you so much. I appreciate all the prayers, positivity & good vibes. Life has certainly been hard lately but you are correct, Kelly is absolutely a happy distraction. Always look for the good, right? 💜
Oh my gosh, my creative brain is exploding now. I crochet!!! Crochet hearts, lavender scent with some wash cloths and face scrubbies!!! Happy Mothers Day. Yes I already have Mothers Day on the brain. lol. Thank you!!!!!
Hi Kelly, I’m fairly new to your channel and enjoy you and the crafts you illustrate for us all to make. I particularly enjoyed this heart on. I crochet hearts and spray essential oil on them and then set them on the forced air heater in our home. It scents the room lovely. I could also use them as sachets in my drawer and so I now have another use for the scented hearts. When I saw your hearts with the essential oils I said to myself, “Hey, that’s almost like my hearts.” I am reminded that no one idea is completely alone. Someone somewhere has thought of something like it or has the same idea. My mom would say, “Great minds think alike.” Thanks for your videos. (Sue up here in Ontario Canada).
I’m making heart-shaped lace earrings (Needle Tatted) for my daughters for Valentines Day, and I’m excited to make this DIY as the gift holder. I have some pink felt in my stash - that might work better for my purposes. I’ll poke the earrings into/on top of one sachet pillow, and put it in the fabric envelope as a gift bag. And they’ll have the sachet as a double bonus gift, too 💖💖
Ms. Kelly, oh my word!! You're enthusiasm for everything crafty, is awesome! What a nifty idea. Versatile, quick. A little something, a pick me up. Handmade items, gifts, are always appreciated. Praying that all of you are healthy and safe. Thank you for sharing this with us 💗
Hi it’s Sharon , when I was a child ( many many moons ago ) I was using my mums pinking shears and I cut my finger with them and I was absolutely devastated that the cut was straight and not wavy haha xx love the video thank you for sharing xx
Girl.... Wow! Beyond stinking cute! Stanking ?? cute!?? Just when I think you've outdone yourself, you come up with something like this. Your talent and creativity is mind boggling! 🤯
I love these! I'm going to make them and stash them all over my sons room....there are 3 of them and no matter what I do, there is always a funk in their room. Lol. I'm going to go the baby powder route!!! Thank you !!!
The sachets bring back memories for me. We used to always have them in our dresser drawers. Smelled so good! This is such an easy way to make them. Great idea sewing before cutting them out too! 👍
Thank you for this sweet idea. Planning a tea party when we can gather again and these will make lovely little favors. Think I'll use a variety of scents so everyone gets their favorites. And, the envelopes can carry favors and teas home. Bless you, Kelly, and all crafters who follow you!
That is really adorable. I may make this and introduce it to my granddaughter, I don't believe she has ever had sachet before. This is going to be extra fun. Thanks for sharing.
I love sachets too!! And these heart pillows are adorable! I can’t sew with a sewing machine to save my life, but I enjoy hand stitching. So this is right up my alley. Great project ❤
Hey Kelly. Another satisfied craft you made. I'm using fabric doll kits from Dollarama to make substitutes for mothballs using the dolls & infused them with peppermint essential oil. Safest way & ecological way to deal with moths in the drawers. Stay safe & looking forward to your next brainstorming idea. ^_^
The fabric idea is great. Actually have some vintage fabric that wasn't sure what to do with it. I decorate some parts of my home with hearts all year. So works perfect
I'm thinking of lavender sachets for pyjama drawers for my 7 grands and 1 great-grand for Valentine's Day. I think it's a great project for my sewing students too. TY!
Oh my this is so cute!!! After your Easter DIYS using this fabric I RAN to Wal-Mart to get some! I ended up running out of time and never got to use it so I have 2 bundles now!! I can't wait to make a set of these! I also still want to do the bunnies with this fabric. It's so adorable!!! Tfs!!❤
This is the cutest idea.💜🙂 I remember my grandmother always putting a stuffed cloth in her dresser drawers. She used to use those pieces of cedar in her drawers also. Kelly, I enjoy watching your video's, you always have such great idea's on crafting. I like making things and give them as gifts to family and friends. Crafting for me, it gives me time to myself, sometimes I just need that alone time away from everyone.
Oh wow! How gorgeous is this envelope, I will be using this idea for my friends and family. You are so creative and as always, thank you so much for sharing. I hope you and your family are keeping well and Geoff is always safe in his amazing selfless job as a firefighter. Take care and stay safe ❤❤
