I'm pretty sure that the butter grater thing is supposed to be used with toast. The increased surface area of the butter will make the butter melt and get softer much faster than a pat of butter, making it much easier to spread. After scraping it off, wait a tiny bit to let it soften quickly before trying to spread it.
I rarely use gadgets, but there are two that work so well for specific tasks that I would not be without them. The first is a slap-chop type, which I use to mince large quantities of garlic and ginger. I almost never use it for anything else, but for this it is incredibly fast compared to a knife. The second is an ancient Mouli-Julienne, which is sort of a hand-cranked food processor. I use that to grate cheese quickly. So much quicker and easier than either a box grater or a food processor.
Technically he can say you turn on captions for your language and yes English is thought and spoken in most countries but the main speaking countries are Canada 🇨🇦 USA 🇺🇸 and uk 🇬🇧
AixaRawr i didnt think about cheese in the butter foamer thing. does it say it on the box or are you just thinking outside the box?? i love cheese and almost all the dinners i make have cheese in them. such a smart idea.
1. I would try that butterthing with toasted bread instead of just regular cold bread. 2. I would try just spreading the butter with the gadget itself instead of using the knife. I think the knife might be the thing screwing it up.
I think the most useful ones are definitely the apple corer, the herb scissors, and the little strainer looking thing that stripped greens and herbs. I also love the cute little bicycle pizza cutters!!!
"Speaking two languages is cool" well don't you guys learn other languages at school in Little Britain? Here in Germany they taught us English and then either French or Latin at our school. So many people know three languages from school and maybe even one or two extra ones depending on what other languages are spoken by their parents at home. So yeah.
lifehacker123 I'm in Britain too, and we do indeed learn two languages, usually at around our 8th year in school, Spanish and French being what we learn~ also, it's nice to have one of my favourite RUclipsrs coming from the same country as me~
lifehacker123 in Britain we usually get taught French, German and/or Spanish ( these are the most common ones) but it's usually only in secondary school and most people forget afterwards 😊
the straw is working as glasses. you just need to put the longer end around the head to the other side and then into a drink, as it was shown on the packaging. ;)
I was really surprised to see a Newbury Comics bag! I've spent many a time (and dollar) there over the years. Sorry that you had to visit under less-than-ideal circumstances, but glad you got something out of it.
In America A second language is an elective. U have 2 want 2 learn it. We don't have any other language that we r required 2 learn. Though it is required that we take English class. Lol See even Americans have 2 "learn" English. I always say we speak American here, because we REALLY actually do not speak proper English. I think it is wonderful 2 learn other languages, so W2G every1 who knows another language not native 2 ur own!
Butter doesn't need to be cold. It's safe for butter to be room temperature, and that actually helps it get soft. If you used butter straight from the fridge, it'll resolidify immediately. If you waited for room temp, it would have done what you wanted.
I recently found a kind of resealable clip-on lid you can clip onto bags and pour stuff directly out of the bag, e.g. rice or lentils. Maybe you could try that one. I am probably trying it myself but maybe other people with little storage space might like it as well.
It's so awesome that you pay about some of the gadgets that are helpful for people with disabilities!! Mrs.and Mr. Barry y'all are amazing!! Also, Thanks for Sunday Fun Day!
When you did the review of the original stirrer, I left a comment saying it would work better if it was on a frame that attaches to the pan, so it can stir properly!
With the butter former thingamobob you should toast the bread because it should make the butter a lot warmer and it should kind of melt and then it will be easier to spread......hopefully
for the butter grater, it would be great on a hot food item, like a baked potato, toast (not just bread) popcorn, mashed potatoes, etc. and the knife said to put the butter on toast, not bread. so maybe it needs the eat of the food item to help it along.
Home-made icecream sandwiches? With wafers? And this is popular enough that you can buy both plain wafers and a gadget to make ice cream wafer sandwiches??? In America we just buy them from the store, and the "bread" bit of the sandwich is more like a cookie than a wafer. I don't even think we have unflavored wafers in stores... We have the cream-sandwich wafers (basically wider kit kats without the chocolate coating) in multiple flavors though, just not ice cream.
NothingIsSacred I'll bet you do have unflavored (well, they're made with sugar) wafers in stores, you just don't notice them for reasons of convenience which is absolutely fine. When I started to cook my own food I was somewhat amazed what kind of stuff there is in supermarkets. I'm from Germany tho, but I think it's a thing you will notice it, if you ever need it.
Actually, I don't think I had any Hanuta wafers. I had a lot of Loacker brand ones, that is what the family I stayed with bought. And lots of Kinder chocolates. :)
Ayverie Ablaze hmm.. Seems like "Loacker" isn't too popular in Germany, I'll try some if I get my hands on it. Hanuta was just the first thing that came to mind, when you said hazelnuts and chocolate.
when you were talking about the languages I totally agree!! in the doctors office this paper says "if you cant speak English please ask for an interpreter" but how do they know that if they can't even read the sign? 🤔 always wondered
I know this video is super old but i wanted to comment. I actually handle cold butter similar to that "butter knife 2" bit. I scrape a little off the top with the serrated side then spread it. Not nearly as much as you scrape off but i find it spreads easier by scraping a thin layer off the top then, after placing the butter onto the toast, scraping again the same way but spreading it as i do. It spreads really nicely that way.
The only way the butter grater works is if you don't spread it but just press it against the bread. But it does have the benefit of turning it into strands that you can just lay on the bread and press it down only if you want it to adhere to the bread. I think the idea the inventer had in mind was to just lay it on the bread rather than spreading it, but I think the manufacturers realized people would think of any other way of covering their bread with it but spreading so they added that.
In Sweden the children learn English in school from the age of nine. And a third language at the age of twelve, normally German or French. My self and my husband started learning our children English at the age of three. It's good to know more than one language 😉 Like your channel thanks for all the fun.
I live in the Netherlands and most children in our country learn English from the age of four. We also learn German and French when we are twelve, some schools will even teach Latin and Greek. I love learning other languages because that means i can watch tv an read books out of other countrys
Barry that butter device might not work so well for spreading on bread, but I bet it would work a treat for breaking butter up for baking purposes. Please give it a try and let us know how you got on?
I actually speak three languages fluently (Dutch, English, German), and the basics of three other languages (French, Spanish, Sign Language). Here in the Netherlands, they teach us a lot of different languages. First year of high school I even had Latin. Standard is: Dutch, English, German and/or French, with most of the times Latin, Spanish or Chinese as extra options.
As a Swede I feel so confused when you use tools for the butter. We have a special kind of butter for bread, that is mixed with rapeseed oil, so you can spread it without any problem!
Yes most people outside of the UK and such speak English. All kinds of brands, stores and other names are in English. Here in The Netherlands the announcements in the trams are in English and Dutch.
For even more amazing ice cream sandis, you could use the Wafer Wizard to punch out blocks from a large chocolate chip sheet cookie and use those cut cookies/biscuits (depending on whether you love it soft or crunchy, respectively) in place of the wafers.
In Brazil we speak and read two languages, but only middle to higher classes. Although english is supposed to be taught in every school, lower classes depend on free education, which is often faulty or nonexistent. I'm not very good myself but I happened to have access to a private school, so I can manage.
Do they sell sriracha in england? I worked for a vinegar company who makes all the vimegar for the srirachi company huy fong and the factory is like 20 mins from me off the 605 fwy for american so cal people. I thought it was neat that a company like that solely relies on that vinegar company (fleishmans vinegar) and i worked there. A lot of other huge names like kens foods, bolthouse farms, morehouse foods which has the official mustard of the dodger dogs and another brand that makes asian sauces lee kum kee
In Brasil we learn english at school from 11 to 14 years. In particular schools we also learn Spanish. But in not easy to find someone that can speak fluently, specially someone who just learned in school. Normally we do after school activities in another school to learn better

It's supposed to be used for toast! Lmao
You could get Mrs. Barry a dish-washer and still wash by hands, you know. ;-)
Carmen I mean, I'm cool not having a dishwasher since my husband does 90% of the dishes
I will start a petition. To get Mrs.Barry a dishwasher.
Carmen I didn't know you posted this and I just posted the same thing lol

My Virgin Kitchen you made mehappy i was sick
hi im also in the UK
My Virgin Kitchen need a cup cake corer and egg separator in the box and then the elvis singing egg timer !!!
My Virgin Kitchen you are supposed to let the butter sit until its at room temperature...then it spreads
I'd use the butter foam thing with cheese though
Or chocolate
He hates cheese why would he do that
@@1addition1subtraction he likes melted cheese just not cold cheese he doesn't hate it
@@emmamills4875 true I’m the same I don’t like hard cheese but I love it when it’s melted
You're using way too much butter with those 2 butter gadgets. I suspect they'll work better if you use a lot less butter.

Gooberslot not just that, but with the knife it said to use short strokes and instead he used large sweeping motions.
Also he should've used toast it is more firm
+Dennie Lester But what if he didn't want toast?
"Do you guys know english as well?"
Well... we are watching you Barry so answer would be yes :P
Haha lol
Both times you were using wayyyy too much butter at a time turning both items into useless tools....Too sad
maybe he just likes lots of butter

Yeah, but in that case you just add more a little at a time.
Maybe room temperature butter it looked very hard

beutyfulnytmar13 yeah probably
The heat of the toast will melt the butter though, kinda pointless for tools that help spread butter
Sk3elly yeah but the heat will make the butter less thick and it will help spread better so it's no pointless

You dotn need to pour pourage continously, set the Kettle and then pour the oatmeal into a bowl, add water, stir, add a bit more, stir, then add milk
I would love if you would do a video trying both butter gadgets together. Use the first one to get the butter foam and the other to spread it.
The butter foamer.....OMG that's how trump does his hair. 😂😂
I only use butter on hot bread so maybe you wouldn't need to spread it. Just plop the butter hairs on the hot bread and it'll melt quicker 😋
