Assalamualaikum warahmaturah wabarakatu, jazzakhallahu Khairan sheikh, please reply this my question because am about to start drinking kombucha for some health benefit, it's a fermented drink and as it's said that during fermentation alcohol may also form. So sheikh, is such a drink halal or Haram, can I go ahead and drink it or not. Assalamualaikum.
I think it's better to just stay away all together, this is too complicated to understand, Surah Al Maaida which says: “O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), gambling, idolatry, and divining arrows are an abomination of Satan's handiwork. So avoid that so that you may be successful.
What about just the molecule itself? Alcohol is used in cleaning products including hand sanitizer. It's not the same type that humans ingest though (isopropyl vs ethanol). Can we use these or is this haram? Do we have to use hand sanitizer that uses a molecule besides alcohol?
Alcohol is not najis *in this sense* nor are you planning to drink hand sanitizer or cleaning products. You might even die consuming those things. Why are you questioning the permissibility?
@@Matt-jc2ml Yes I understand. I was wondering why you were questioning the permissibility when using the regular way? There’s no issue using cleaning products with alcohol. Unless it will physically cause you harm or something… he mentions in the video I believe too that alcohol is not najis(impure)
From my understanding, there is another principle in fiqh, that actions are judged by their intentions. The intent of mixing wine is to add/enhance the flavor of the meat and not as a solvent, etc i.e. using a haram substance to add flavor to food
Our sheik dr zakir thank you
