    That's really cool man. What kind of jobs can you get with that major? And, in your opinion, could all of that be learnt just through reading? Was there anything unique about the university experience itself that you wouldn't find elsewhere?

      Disjointed Monologues FWIW, Most of the graduates from my major have jobs in sales, business, software engineering. Though this may not be from philosophy per se. I believe that a lot of what I learned can be read about. But what I found valuable in college was being challenged on what beliefs I had through discussions with students and faculty.

    You can be a politician, historian,pope of nature,

    Hey I’m considering a philosophy minor and this video really excited me. I’m in engineering and we have 6-7 classes. Why did you only take 1-3? Is that convention?

    Is it possible to work in the government in policy making? I imagine if youre a philosophy graduate you'd understand ethics, humans and morality the best.

    seems heavily inspired by analytic philosophy and the general anglo-project of removing all of metaphysics, literature and religion from philosophy and turning it into science.

      Mary Queen of Scots Yes I recently graduated from college with Honors in Philosophy. Right now I’m pursuing a Masters in Computer Science. I plan to combine my interests in Philosophy and CS on the future.

      @@user-dc7zw no, unfortunatelly not yet.
      But I think I am going to do phil.+sociology because that rly interests me and I will take philosophy at A-levels (I mean its not a levels but its the closest way I can describe to you, Croatian education system is weird.)
      I am currently in 3rd grade high school, next year I will be a senior.

      @@nou-kc1ws i’m a 4th year in high school in america and am really stressed with college applications. i want to take a gap year but not many schools that aren’t ivy leagues offer gap year programs. do u want to be a lawyer?

      I wold want to go in the media direction, maybe be a writer haha that would be a dream come true, or a social worker.

      Mostly papers. You’ll have to write lots of essays.

      I have a BA in Philosophy from UC Riverside.
      I took Kant, Nietzsche , Metaphysics , Philosophy of Law and a bunch of other stuff. Awesome program.

      Look up GRE scores by major. Philosophy students scored highest on analytical writing. It isn't just interesting. Studying philosophy teaches you not just what to think, but how to think critically. It's the most practical of majors, and can be applied to almost everything.

      @@posesepulu3771 I know plenty of philosophy major student friends who are deep in debt because of this stupid major. If it really thought them how to think they would probably think twice about majoring in something else. Best major you can major on is public health. Plus philosophy is nothing more but European bs.

      @@soa2444 Dude anyone in any major can get into debt. College is expensive for everyone and loans dont help lol. It's what you do with your degree that counts. There's plenty of conventions and communities that you can expose yourself to get a career with philosophy, largest being becoming a professor. European philosophy? Ever heard of Lao Tzu? Confucius? There's opportunities for philosophy all over the world, and that's what makes it useful
