I think it’s really important for adults to start listening more to children instead of presuming that they don’t have anything intelligent or important to say. So yes it was really refreshing listening to these children.
I was thinking the same thing. It's jarring. This video by itself proves that carnism is taught. You have to unlearn certain tenets of compassion and rationality that even children can access in order to see any problem with veganism at all.
The usual pattern is is that the older you grow the stronger you believe in your ideas and values, it gets increasingly hard to adopt new ideas or perspectives. Not by any means these beliefs and values have to be of rational nature, no humans are not very rational beings. We believe in all sorts of things even if they contradict reality.
pegy hill Absolutely! I was on the check out line in my work cafeteria and overheard two people behind me discussing their doubts about the impossible burger's healthiness, while holding plates of meaty ribs lathered in sauce. It was preposterous.
Randa Naim yeah I’m not surprised. My mom completely is against me being vegan and whenever I eat a beyond burger or some vegan meat she says “oh you really should do research on what that fake meat is it’s probably got lots of chemicals and bad stuff” and I’m just like okay says the one who eats a dead corpse for dinner
pegy hill Amen! It's exhausting hearing ordinary people inform me about nutrition facts as though they're dietary experts. My thought: well geez, I had no idea you had a pHD in nutritional medicine.
It’s so amazing to see a school voluntarily disclose this information! Most education systems still teach the old dietary way of thinking: dairy for milk and meat for protein. Hopefully other educational bodies follow suit

I think it’s really important for adults to start listening more to children instead of presuming that they don’t have anything intelligent or important to say. So yes it was really refreshing listening to these children.
The fact that 10 year old children are more capable of having a rational conversation about veganism than most adults is crazy
It is, but it also makes perfect sense. The social conditioning hasn't hit yet.
I was thinking the same thing. It's jarring. This video by itself proves that carnism is taught. You have to unlearn certain tenets of compassion and rationality that even children can access in order to see any problem with veganism at all.
Children are not as defensive.
so true, that's what i thought too and it's kind of sad

Cancer, diabetes, heart problems, bone diseases and obesity are some of the diseases that have been proven that can be caused by meats, sausages and animal derivatives, in general. It's even fun, when one in ten vegans get sick (because they do not even know how to eat), they do not even think twice before blaming it on veganism. Hot topics change with time. When I was 10 years old ozone holes and acidic rains were hot topics and all of the kids in my class could tell you details about those problems and what causes them. I'm glad that all the old folks' talk that the youth nowadays doesn't care about anything is just wrong :) These kids are amazing
I'm so happy children are being exposed to this now!!! Change will have to be through the younger generations
@albert fish Lol i dont even consume any soy :( go troll elsewhere
Not enough time for us to rely on our kids to grow up, get older and solve our toxic legacy any more. This is a crisis that the generation currently in power must solve. There is no more “in fifty years...” There is only now, and us, and changing everything.
Ed should respect peoples right to not risk mutating their genome through trial and error & not bully kids into going vegan.
ben smith Bullying? Seriously? No bullying in that classroom, but plenty of lies, deceit, manipulation and training of our kids going on all around you in the big wide world that no one should be okay about... Veganism is NOT the problem. Be on the right side of history, because all the latest studies, research and findings point to veganism as the main hope for the future of life on this planet, and of the human race itself. Don’t fight it.
In the end, both veganism and climate change are political issues.
Indoctrinating children is morally wrong, even if you support the cause.
Imagine if it's a different political issue that you didn't support, like gun rights for example.
You would be protesting in the streets. This is on the same level. I find it very sad.
You are such a kind sweet compassionate soul Ed! The animals are blessed to have you on their side.
This is the calmest discussion I've ever seen between a vegan and non-vegans. 💚
They are kids, you realize they are going to believe almost anything an adult will tell them?
@@JackassBauer1 ed asked them most of the questions and they answered..
@@eeth_121 and they will answer with the answers they where told. If you would get an answer like... I don't know because they didn't teach us yet about the subject... now that would be an honest answer.
@@JackassBauer1 Vegans are truly mentally retarded, it's a diet that is very bad for the brain.
@@outsideworld76 Can you please cite your study where this was proven?
I am actually a vegan at a young age so I enjoy this ❤️🥬
I just discovered your videos. I love your calm and informed approach to teach people about veganism and what is connected with it. I wish there where more people like you, keep up your great work!
What a wonderful thing Ed is doing here! it's amazing how he connects knowledge/facts in such an easy and sensitive way! We definitely need more activists like him!!
Glad there’s someone like you to educate kids on something they don’t rlly learn about in school.
I admire you so much, Earthling Ed. Thank you for dedicating your life to the welfare of others.
Not the welfare of meat eaters?
YOU GO ED!!! I just became a Patreon supporter! It’s not much but I hope it helps! I believe in you so much and you have such a beautiful approach to teaching and speaking the truth of veganism! You inspire me so much! I’m so happy to be on earth with you right now! You go Ed!!🤗💙🌿🌻✨
I would love for you to talk at more elementary schools, this knowledge and education and how beautifully said it was warms my heart. I would love if you spoke at my child’s school🥺
This is my favourite video on RUclips omg, the kids were SO attentive
'What is an ocean, but a multitude of drops?'
I domt get this quote tbh
Like whats it meant to say
@@HiHi-ui8gi the water drop that hitspond/ocean creates a ripple as a result. The choices you choose or changes you make make an impact on everyone around you.
@@HiHi-ui8gi what that other guy said is not what it meant. An ocean is a multitude of drops = everyone is a drop and an ocean is the accumulation of many, many drops. That ocean is every single person doing the same thing, one drop doesn't seem like much but when many drops/people come together it creates an ocean, every drop is important as an ocean/movement isn't just one thing but a number of people choosing to change. Every drop adds to the puddle and soon when enough people change it becomes an ocean, so it means everyone's important because every individual adds to it, one at a time.
Literally one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite films. #CloudAtlas #BeTheChange #WeWantToSee #DropsOfHope
These 10 year olds are smarter than most adults. I am impressed with the knowledge they seem to understand. Great job Ed.
I just love how he is with people and his approach is by far most the best among all the activists, thank you for the all the work you do
Those are some seriously clever 10 year old 😳 I'm really impressed by how much they know already!
I'm blown away by how smart these kids are!
Ed you are doing wonders for this movement! You speak so well and the children seemed to respond fantastically to everything you said. The drop of water in a pond part at the end made me emotional, I can't wait for more change! x
Wow these kids are so knowledgeable before the discussion even began. That's so great that there is a vegetarian week at that school in Holland.
Wow these kids are so very brainwashed. Before he even begins. Makes his job so much easier when the kids have been robbed of critical thinking skills. Big global government education strikes again. "Sv3rige NWO diet" . RUclips this and truly educate yourselves before we collectivly destroy our children.
Just FYI
I don't even know what veganism was at 15, i wish all schools worldwide had events dedicated to vegetarianism/ veganism
When I was a kid I was forced to eat flesh when I didn't want to, it would have been great to have some kind of education on veganism.
Yes that would be awesome
@Dolapo lol, i seriously had an aversion, like i would sit at the table for hours and i wasn't allowed to leave the table til i did. in school i would find ways to throw things out when the teachers weren't looking, like put stuff in my socks if it was dry enough and trash it later.
@@Gee-xb7rt haha I did somthing similar when I was young I got in trouble a lot becouse of that ( at school)
@gisforgary I know how you feel. I was also forced to eat animal products as a kid. I wish I had known sooner how they were produced and that I didn't have to eat them.
Same my parents forced me to sit at the dinner table until I ate animals. I would sit there for over an hour each night and cry. They told me we had no choice and would die if we didn’t eat them. I was pretty pissed when I found out tofu existed this whole time.
You're so amazing as a teacher to all demographics :)
These 10-year-olds are so smart, it's inspiring! Ed is such a natural teacher. He asks questions that challenge us to think, and is a peaceful presence that you enjoy talking to.
He who sees himself in all beings, And all beings in him, attains the highest Brahman, not by any other means. - Kaivalya Upanishad 10
My friend you are seeing himself in all beings. Thank you so much for inspiring.
Absolutely!!! May all beings be happy.
Ed could do ASMR and I’d fall asleep.
"That's right... No cheese...." Zzz zzz
This is what we need. Proper education of kids about animal care and their future.
Er geht so lieb und sympathisch mit den Kindern um.... ❤️Es ist Zeit, dass die Menschheit aufwacht
Agree
This video is the definition of hope. Thanks Ed. 🌱❤️
Cheyenne Tsai hope for what?
Cheyenne Tsai world war 4's coming for you
It truly is 🙏💚
Lauren cq 👈 can someone get this woman an education please
Lauren cq funny that, I’ve got a vegan ten year old and he’s doing great without carcasses and secretions for food 🌱🍅🥦🌽🥕🥔🍆🥑🥗
This is what needs to be taught in all schools and colleges....the truth about the meat dairy and egg industries and all the other animal exploitation industries there are. When we know better we can be better.
This should be compulsory education for children. Truly wonderful discussion and fantastic children who help to restore my faith in humanity. 🐾🌱🐾
Ed: what happens if you tip a glass of water into a pond?
(Me: There's more water in the pond)
Kid (way smarter than me): There's a ripple
