Thank you! Other channels reviewed these mowers based on Amazon reviews only not real life usability. I appreciate you for doing this!
Thank you guys for finally actually using WATTS on battery devices, versus most channels ignoring that information!
Rob: I just have to say (again): you and the team give us so much useful data. Any electric lawnmower buyer has more than enough info to make an intelligent decision! Once again, you and the team hit another one outta the park! Well done! And Thank You for not putting this data behind a paywall, which no one would blame you for doing! You and the guys are just phenomenal. We DO appreciate what you do, and how you do it!
Thanks
Too much of him not enought testing video
I’ve been researching for weeks and have been skeptical all around but the way y’all conducted all of this and the way you talked about the information gathered convinced me which is best option thank you!
I have the Ryobi and I love it. Into my second summer and it has been brilliant.
I bought an Ego LM2125SP the other day. I love everything about it. The convenience of not having to check/change/fill oil. Not having to store gas, add fuel stabilizer, and worry about bad gas by the end of the cutting season. It folds up compactly in my little 10x10 shed. Drop the battery in and start cutting. The self-propelled controls are nice and easy to use without having to really think about it. The quality of the cut is great (single blade model here) and I can cut my grass on my lot 3-4 times if needed on one charge of the 7.5AH battery. This is my first self propelled mower and I am sure the extra money spent will be well worth it once the Louisiana summer heat kicks in any day now.
I love it so much, I am going back to Lowes this morning to pick up an Ego trimmer and blower.
My mom and my sister each have a Kobalt push mower and neither have had any problems with them. They seem to be very capable machines.
Great multi mower comparison. I just found your head-2-head test a couple of hours ago. Great comments...thanks! I ordered the Milwaukee mower two days ago and I expect to receive the unit tomorrow. I can't wait to get it.
Thanks,
David Watson

Very Impressed with your reviews. Thank you!!
Wow, I've been searching everywhere for a wireless lawn mower! So glad I stumbled upon this video. I must say, the Segway Navimow robotic lawnmower seems like a game-changer. Its convenience and efficiency definitely outshine other brands. No more hassle with perimeter wires-I'm sold! Highly recommend giving Segway Navimow a try and experiencing the freedom it offers.
Oh yeah! Thanks for telling me about this new video. Gotta pick up a mower this weekend. Great video man! Thanks for the info!
Incredibly informative! Thank you!
YES. Perfect timing I just sat down to wind down and I want a cordless!
Timing can be everything!
Impressive and helpful review. While it was the last review i found after i had made a decision, you certainly solidified my decision, and i only wish I had found your video 1st, as you definitely nailed it.
Thanks for such well made and informative review.
Now this is a review!. Thank you.
Excellent and a very detailed review!! Much appreciated! Thank you!!
Have been looking at outdoor equipment for a while. Had used an electric corded in the past and bought another. But that was when I was a lot younger. That electric lawnmower works great. But the cord management is just too much, too heavy now. Working the cord is wearing me out. 12AWG heavy cord. Now looking for a battery powered one. This video was great. The amount of effort displayed to test, the layout of results. As an old math person your last graph was superb. This will make my next decision easier. Slightly surprised there was not a don't buy on any MFG. Great job keeping us Noobs aware. THANKS very much.
I’m really enjoying my makita commercial mower. Even though it has the lift handles, it drives up my atv ramps nicely. Also i can use the batteries in my other makita tools.
Just found you guy's channel. Absolutely outstanding review of these machines. The best combination of real world performance, quality, etc. for the everyday owner. Subbed and counting on your reviews as my go to now.
I have used individual wheel adjustment when I knew a portion could not be accessed due to wetness or time constraints. It allowed me to tilt higher and higher until it did not look awful.
I used to mow overgrown lawns for my elderly neighbors. When I lost my gas mowers in a fire, I tried several battery powered mowers and none of them would cut it on an overgrown lawn. It was also pretty tough sledding on a failrly well manicured St. Augustine grass lawn. For weekend warriors only.
This was a great comparison! Liked. Obviously a lot of work went into it, yielding a lot of useful information. That said, at this point think I personally, and I’m guessing others, have seen about enough reviews at this point on battery life, how fast some dude can sprint through waist high weeds pushing two mowers, noise levels, etc. I think I’d like to see a comparison of just CUT QUALITY. That seems to be the biggest issue I have seen with some of the battery powered mowers and it seems to also be the one area that no one wants to really take the time to test and compare, much less in anything close to a semi-scientific way.
Excellent mower test, ACC/TBB crew!! Very well done and informative.
Thanks
I bought the RMA from my work for 750 CAD after tax with a ap300s battery and al300 fast charger. Its been awesome, the 300s battery gives me about an hour and 20 minutes of use
Good stuff. Appreciate the information from you all as usual.
Thx
Thanks for a very helpful video!
How does this channel only have 200K subscribers? Mind boggling. Great content.
Thx
Love this thing!
Awesome reviews thanks!!
I love the instant throtle of milwaukee tool for exemple the blower the quick lock the mower .
I've been using the Ego line trimmer and hedge trimmer for about 7 years and I've been impressed from day one. Since I already own the batteries and the Ego mower stacked up well ( which I had hoped it would), I'll be getting the mower to join my Ego stable. Thanks for this performance test, it re-assured me that my money would be well spent.
Hey Darius, don’t think for a second that you’re going to be able to use the 2.5 amp battery from your string trimmer in your new Ego mower. It’ll suck the life out of it in about a minute or less.
Hopefully you got the Select Cut with 10 amp battery. It’ll be worth the extra bucks. You’ll als9 get their new wireless fast charger.
@@martylucas8557 Thanks for the tip. The mower is selling with two 10A batteries and the fast charger so it'll be fine.
Hey, I saw your comment under a post knowing that you have a battery powered lawn mower, isn't it great? I’m doing a survey about using the electric outdoor powered equipment including the mower, but I’m not an electric mower owner. Could I exchange some opinions with you so that I might get some in-person experience? I’d like to pay 100 dollars for a conversation with you, appreciated!
Thanks for the great comparison test! I'd be happy with any of them - I have a small yard. They all did a good job, very impressed.
Which mower would you recommend for a small yard?
@@canonman223 I don't know, I didn't test them.

Sold all my gas crap and bought 5 ryobi high end equipment and absolutely love it, I’m 71 and fit but lazy so bought self propelled units 😂😂😂😂😂, I wave at all my neighbours with one hand while self propelled does all the work 😂, beast, beer in one hand and motor in the other 😂😂
I had a three year old EGO lawnmower on which the blade brake had stopped working. I called them and they sent me a new mower. I put the old mower in the shipping box and UPS picked it up. My cost, 0.00 dollars. My time, a 5 minute phone call.
Awesome review! Thank you. =)
Informative video. Was hoping the 60v greenworks mowers would make another appearance. I think they offer better performance and value than the 80v greenworks. 👍🏻
The Ego 2156SP is hard to beat for commercial use, it's oddly better (probably because of weight) if you stack a spare battery between the battery compartment and handles on the very top of the unit. The curvature of that particular spot cradles the spare well with the battery shape. I'm a Milwaukee fan and I want to test out the new mower but the Ego 2156SP is hard to beat. Need to test the Ego with their 12AH battery and note the distance since the Milwaukee has the 12AH.
I like your video! Wish you had more views!
Thank you for sharing your 🦕 mowers..
You bet
Keep overlooking Craftsman V60 and pay double (or more)... excellent option in my opinion... I've had my walk behind mower, my edge trimmer (weed eater), and 500 CFM clippings blower for over 3 years and literally have not had one issue...
7:05...Kobalt with 1 single 6ah battery came in behind the Millwaukee with 2 (TWO!) 12ah batteries that cost more than the Kobalt mower...
WOW...
New subscriber here. Great information and analysis of 16 mowers for someone like me in the market to purchase a battery powered mower! I would love to see you take the top 3 mowers on your list and rate them head-to-head on cut quality, mulching, bagging and discharging performance. I suspect that many of your subscribers would find that information extremely helpful - I know that I would.
Did not see any other comments regarding the pricing chart. I.E. you said the Stihl was $399 but the chart says $399 for the Skil mower and the mower picture for $399 was the Stihl. Thanks for the hard work
I dont have latest ryobi mower but i do love ryobi does get better with each new mower they introduced, the first two i got were far from perfect with some things didn't like it but did its job. That was till i got one of the brushless mower series 2 years ago that cant remember exact name as ryobi mowers seem have almost same name, but i do love it with my only nitpick is i wish go higher or didn't have headlights on or least on and off switch for said headlight. So when i get a new lawn mower at some point im hoping that ryobi greatly improved their product when times comes. ^^
Excellent review (so thanks for the hard work and dedication). Spoiler alert: Best Ranking @ 25:44. I had already opted to go with the #3 overall Ryobi AWD (since I'm heavily invested in the Ryobi ecosystem, so battery runtimes were essentially irrelevant with backup batteries galore), and enjoyed the confirmation bias I got here. If it were just a tad faster it'd be perfect.

Awesome as always guys… love when a new notification pops up!!🙏🙏 Out of the box best mower … I get it … but I gotta ask - cuz I’m on a different platform than the red… IF some of the others had an equal battery (maybe already possessed in their current platform) would some of the results differ or improve? I have been very close to purchasing one of these- and the review of my platform has dropped from the last review of these? Anyway thanks for the content guys!!!! Best tool on RUclips - hands down!!! 👊👊👊
yes probably
Great video. Very informative
Thx
I'm seeing a lot of reviews saying the Milwaukee doesn't do well in heat. Apparently just shuts off. Some people say within 5 minutes. Being in Houston that excludes it from us using it.
Although my 60v greenworks is fantastic, when it comes time to replace it, might have to be with the Milwaukee beast.
You guys did a terrific job and spent a considerable amount of time reviewing these mowers. One question: Which mower cuts all the grass the first time and leaves little to no stragglers? I purchased the same EGO mower in your test 2 weeks ago and unfortunately had to return it because it left so many stragglers. I tried everything to make it work- slowing down, re-sharpening the blades, experimented with different cutting heights and also swapping the lower mulch blade with the lifter blade. Despite all of this, I still had to go over everything twice to get all the single grass blades left behind. Thanks again for the review! You just earned another subscriber.
@RF I wouldn't call that or any number like that... there are sooo many scams and it will give them your info. Watch some videos on hete how they catch these scammers and turn it on them.
@@qqq829 trust me I’m not
My thoughts as well. This was an awesome review but I was left wondering "which one actually cuts the best." All of the bells and whistles don't mean much if it sucks at cutting grass...lol. That's why even though the Toro was rated near the bottom, I've heard great things about it's cut ability, especially when matched with the performance blade
8:00 Small mistake in your numbers. Some of these are "max" voltages but you need to use nominal voltage to calculate watt hours. The Kobalt is 80V MAX, but 72V nominal, so it is the same watt hours as the Milwaukee
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we’ll correct the chart in our article
Also, i didnt do the math, so im not sure if/how it affects the numbers, but the Milwaukee is actually a 36v system because it uses two 18v batteries in series.
Fantastic review. This video should get a lot more views.
It will next April

Which one has the best suction when bagging?
I bought an Ego about 4 years ago, based on all the buzz I had been hearing for a few years prior. And its a good mower. It gets the job done. However, after 1 year of very very minimal use, the (very expensive) battery wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few minutes. Fortunately, it was still under warranty, and the Ego people sent me a new battery pretty quickly, for free.
So far, so good.
You can't beat the 5 year warranty on the mower and the battery from Ego
@@eclecticgentleman, except they don't always honor that warranty. That's been my experience.
@@jsirivanchai I've heard nothing but great things about their service, that's why they're number 1 and everyone else is chasing them. I will give you to examples of my recent experience. I bought the mower with the 10Ah battery. It's advertised as a run time of 60-75 minutes. I was only getting 45 minutes. With that being said I was cutting weeds that were a foot tall. I called in and complained. They sent me a new battery and said keep the old one, have 2 batteries. Since I have my lawn under control and cutting it weekly that battery is getting about 70 minutes now that I'm cutting it at 4 inches. So that was my bad on that 1st battery complaint. My second experience that happened yesterday, I bought the multi head with the edger and weed trimmer attachment. I went to load the string and it didn't have the lines to line up with the eyelets to push the string all the way through. I searched RUclips in every video I seen had them lines. I then looked in the manual and it had them lines too. So I called them and told them that my head did it match up with the manual or every video I seen on RUclips. They apologized and said they are going to send me a replacement head out immediately. So 8 can say first hand my experience in the last 2 months has been above and beyond helpful. So much so I'm going to buy the new ego 52 inch zero turn as soon as Lowe's gets it in stock
@@eclecticgentleman, I had to call customer service several times to get a replacement. Before they issued the replacement they asked me to defeat the safety shutoff lever by strapping the lever down (which should never be a process requested by a manufacturer to a consumer) while the unit runs the battery down. They even suggested that I leave it unattended. If you don't believe the issues with customer support, check their BBB rating. Check other sources as well. Ego is getting hit hard with bad reviews for customer service, and I can say from experience that I agree with those reviews.
@@jsirivanchai people can buy what they want but nobody has better outdoor power equipment. They're the one everyone else is chasing and I can say from personal experience their push mower is the best battery mower on the market and I've personally received above and beyond customer service
Very useful review. Great job with this.
Thank you
Glad you liked it
I’m looking to go cordless. I have a full line of kobalt 24v tools and was thinking about staying with that brand. But I can get a stihl for less and I’ve heard stihl is a better brand. Would have liked to see the Atlas included that Harbor freight sells. Nevertheless, Outstanding review
A follow up would be great. Two critical elements are, battery life, durability. I have a 36v ( dual 18v) Makita mower and have had makita 18v tools for a long time. I know the batteries will perform, plus I also use them in other tools. My neighbour has an ego mower and line cutter, three years in, the batteries are well below original condition. Be good to get some more user feedback.
That Milwaukee seems pretty awesome... pretty amazing how far battery mowers have come and you can really tell they put alot of work into making a good product.
But that being said, damned if I pay that much for a mower. Still awesome though.
I just got the Milwaukee mower today. Seems like everyone is complaining about the price without taking into account the batteries and glossing over the fact that it gets the job done without excuses. That’s what I wanted from a cordless mower and your review along with others show that is exactly what Milwaukee delivered. Thanks Rob and the rest of the crew for another detailed comparison video.
Other options also come with batteries that are pricey on their own, but cost less. But if you could use those larger batteries for other stuff like a Milwaukee cordless miter saw, that it certainly does offset the price a significant amount.
@@ccbowers Absolutely! One of my goals with this mower (and most tool purchases tbh) was to not need "get into" another battery platform just for OPE. I'm already deep into the m18 and m12 products and batteries. Like you said, being able to pop the 12s into a miter saw, table saw, angle grinder (for bigger jobs), or their other OPE -- ultimately saving time and allowing you to get done faster -- gives a much better value proposition.
@@entropic6957 Understandable. But I expect to always be in multiple platforms, because despite needing different batteries, you can end up saving money and also opening up your options for better tools under certain circumstances. I mean maybe 2-4 battery platforms, not the 8+ I'm currently in.
There are many deals that come along that may be in a different platform or specific tool that is available only in one vs another. Or maybe a lower priced brand vs higher end, depending on your expected use. Those potential savings often pay for themselves in the long run, assuming you are buying wisely.
Keep us informed how Milwaukee has worked 😎
Glad you’re happy with your expensive lawn mower 🥴
Milwaukee for the win! As usual. Milwaukee either wins or is in the top 2 or 3 for everything battery powered, great tools!
I ran across your 2020 vid, now this... I gotta sub, even though I just needed this... I feel like if I ever need any more info.. you offer quality.
Great video as always. Hope we get the see the new 40v Makita reciprocating saw in your next comparison. That thing looks like a monster.
Damn good review here.
My ryobi first Gen 40v tiny mower is still amazing amazing after 8 years on original battery. Chipped up hand ground blade 25x still better than any neighbors gas mower. Half the noise.
Electric is the way to go.
One more comment, LED on the Milwaukee are, on the contrary to what Robert says, curiously very usefull. It's counter-intuitive, I know, it looks gadget, but believe me, I've been using that for weeks very late in the day, and it works indeed very well.
Exactly GB...!!! When the sun goes down those lights will be a life saver. Maybe less so now with daylight savings time but back in the Standard time days an extra 15-20 minutes to finish off a lawn.... priceless!
Yes the Milwaukee is expensive but I can use the batteries on all my other Milwaukee tools. You definitely get more bang for your buck with that.
“Blade speed is critical for a clean and fast cut” .. I could not agree more and that’s why I took my Ego select-cut back as it only spins at 2,700 - I replaced it with the EGO steel deck and it’s RPM is 3,150 and I also installed twin blades … it only now comes close to a Honda commercial mower in performance!
Commercial mowers spin at above 3,000 rpm to enable a clean cut without leaving stragglers, and to enable a fast job - time is money!
However the only metric the Ego steel deck with twin blade modification cannot come close to in the Honda commercial mower is “energy density” or runtime - there’s over 40 times more energy in one Kilogram of fuel than one kilogram of lithium batteries.
Is there an issue with ego's non metal deck? Do you think a thrown stone would crack it?
when looking up the Stihl it sells without a battery and charger which makes it the one of the most expensive. ($699.99) w/battery and charger.
Great review. What needs to be added is which manufacturer stands behind their product. I've seen many horror stories where people have had issues and have a very hard time getting them resolved, if at all. With most gasoline powered mowers, you can always find someone to repair them, electric/battery not so much.
great point...Thats what leads me away from getting an electric mower. I'm going back and forth. ugh.
@@DrAlexanderHamilton I should mention I have a Kobalt 80 Volt lawn mower and trimmer. Had them for 3 years. They work great! Just don't know what will happen if I need repair. Also bought an EGO for my daughter and she loves it. So far all have been working fine. When they quit, I guess you just throw them away. Two down sides. Repairs and replacement batteries. Batteries cost almost as much as a new unit. Up side, much quieter than gas and no pull start. Good luck on your decision.
@@grego3762 thanks, you have know idea how much you've complicated my decision. I've been trying to decide whether to get a push power or riding lawn mower, electric or gas. I actually found a good deal on a ryobi electric mower but when I looked at the reviews, everyone said the exact same thing you said, which put a complete damper on me going electric for mowers. Supposedly, ryobi and others have horrible customer service and people have had to wait months to get repairs on their mowers. I have an electric blower and its great, but I'm having second thoughts on making the plunge for an electric mower
@@DrAlexanderHamilton I'm sorry I complicated your decision. I'm going to help you some more. I'm already envisioning when mine finally does quit. I'm going to get an EGO. I was very impressed with my daughter's. Did that help?
@@grego3762 I'm at DIYer and just like things that have a long life. For example, I'm into off road vehicles and the one thing off roaders hate are trucks that have too much electric or digital gizmos versus mechanical parts. you can work on mechanical things much easier than diagnosing an electrical or digital issue out in the middle of nowhere. This is why the off road community is not sold on electric trucks b/c many of us are not convinced they can hold up in the harshest of conditions and if anything goes wrong with vortec or LS engines or Allison transmissions, I know how to fix them and parts are readily available. Not so for electric vehicles. I thought about saving my peanuts to buy a Tesla Truck but I'm terrified of having an electric vehicle that becomes obsolete because they no longer make parts for or servicing the thing become unbearable. This is why I've been leery about switching to anything electric. I don't like things I can't fix myself.
Also.. I haven't looked around much yet, but I hope you maybe one day recommend growing more food, and less large lawns.. which will only help people, and the environment when you think about it. Thanks.
Just purchased the greenworks mower. Ty
Dam it rob I’ve been trying to talk my self updating to the Milwaukee cause of the price then you had show how great it is….. I’m being sarcastic by the way great video
To not add harbor freight brand is a mistake.
Where would worx fit into your results?
Did you use the high lift blade on the Milwaukee mower?
Just found the Milwaukee mower kit for $799. It will arrive in a few days!
I used the makita “pro” for a few weeks this fall. Its self propel slows significantly as the batteries drain, its ramp speed is terrible on self propel. I measured 2mph on full speed self propel while under load cutting tall grass on weakening batteries.
This mower is badly limited by its 36v of 18650 cells.
I just grabbed a Honda $550 gas mower and it’s night and day: power and instant acceleration. Realistically you gotta pay a thousand bucks for a good battery mower now-2x a comparable gas. If n
was not expecting m18 mower; it really shows that they are actually using R&D to do enough research and have the battery economy to make a product like this;
if you are not able to get batteries from a 8 year old platform then you are generally are not looking hard enough; the mower is only sold in a kit which is the problem
Didnt try the Atlas 80V??
Another great head to head you guys don't play around. Hey Rob what about a new impact driver and hammer drill head to head
Weldon it is on our list after the reciprocating size probably not until winter
@@ConcordCarpenter wow I can't wait keep up the good work you guys deserve a all expense paid vacation to the Bahamas where I live
I've recently bought a mower in this category, and I think your findings are about right. The Milwaukee is probably the best, but expensive - while the Ego is very nearly as good but significantly cheaper. I ended up with the Ego purely because of that price difference - I'm really not convinced the extra money is worthwhile for the Milwaukee unless you're really pushing the mower hard
I considered the fact that Milwaukee batteries are useful in more tools, but with the huge batteries and the way you use two of them I felt like I'd probably want to just keep dedicated batteries for the mower anyway, and it would be annoying trying to share them with other tools because of needing to keep them charged and balanced (eg if you use one battery for the string trimmer then you've effectively lost the runtime from both...) whereas the Ego can just share a battery with the string trimmer and you never have to think about it
Plus if you have a smaller yard, you can drop down to the 17", 19", or 20" Ego mowers and get the same features/quality for even less money
1:30... and how well it actually cuts grass? Because that's why I'm buying a lawn mower
I'm in the market for a new cordless mower. FYI I have used the black and decker for the past 4 seasons. I would not purchase it again, even though it has several nice features for my current personal needs. The good with the B&D I have 2 lawns to mow, one at my home which is maybe 700 to 1000 SQ Feet, and at my seasonal campsite which is about the same. It's light, it folds up nicely and the height adjustment is great. The Bad: Battery life is not good. I also have a B&D blower, chain saw and string trimmer. I got batteries with each, and 2 with the mower. Out of the 5 batteries, 2 died and will not charge within 18 months of purchase. The others 4 years in are close to the end of their life. The other thing that is bad is (I'll try and explain so it makes sense) Mowing power. If you have 6" tall grass, and set your deck at the 4" height, it bogs out and stalls. So if you have 5" grass and mow to 4" you're good, but only being able to mow less than 2" without stalling is the main reason why I will not purchase again. After watching this (and a few other videos) I was considering the Stihl or the Milwaukee. The Sthil (460) is $399 but it has another battery system. Now I have since I got the B&D purchased Milwaukee, String trimmer, Blower, hedge trimmer and LED magnetic light. All of my Milwaukee batteries are still in perfect shape. The mower is overkill for my current needs, but we are planning a move within a year or so to a new state and will be buying property with a bit more yard. So though the Milwaukee is double the money, based on my current and possible future M18 and M12 battery usage (I have some M12 tools as well) AND add to that the property we have is a 3 family which we live in one unit, I can claim 2/3 of the purchase price directly on my taxes. So the Milwaukee wins.
Who makes the motors for each brand ?
Great reviews, this and in 2020! Curious why you didn't include the Greenworks 25" model? That wider deck is a real differentiator for me and my large, steep yard. Would love to know if it is still one of the best.
Thought I'd add a reply here, I went ahead and bought the Greenworks 25" mower a month ago. It is absolutely a dream to mow my large, steep yard. It is such as easier task compared to my old gas powered 21" mower. The mower is slightly lighter to push (I do push it most of the time for exercise), much easier to turn/maneuver, and the wider deck makes my time in the yard noticeably shorter!
You work for Greenworks
@@alabastardmasterson Haha, nope. Just trying to help out others who might have the same problem I did.
It would be interesting to put a gas mower in the lot and see how bad it would compare in most categories, except for purchase prize maybe?
Might make a quiet little mud motor outboard...
Which one has front wheel drive
When it comes to the Makita pro mower….with experience in landscaping, I can say that having a folding mower is definitely an asset. Things get damaged when they roll around and aren’t secured. Sure, you can tie it up but it’s not as compact and secure as a mower with the handle folded and secured to the wall. You can also easily send a guy out in a car or van with the folded mower in the back. Just good for thought.
Good to know, we assumed the opposite
so is your distance chart based on both batteries for mowers provided two batteries and in the case of makita both rows? from my understand the milwaukee uses both batteries without a switch unlike the ryobi and makita where you need to use a switch for the fresh batteries. another thing not mention in the video was cut quality which is very important, did mowers leave mohawks behind, clumps of grass?
Hey Rey, I saw your comment under a post knowing that you have a battery powered lawn mower, isn't it great? I’m doing a survey about using the electric outdoor powered equipment including the mower, but I’m not an electric mower owner. Could I exchange some opinions with you so that I might get some in-person experience? I’d like to pay 100 dollars for a conversation with you, appreciated!
What about the Worx lawn mower?
My makita does an amazing job for half the price plus I already have everything makita and they have never failed, I was thinking of getting a ego but so many people complained about the battery not holding a charge after a year or two, and the battery alone is almost 500 dollars, these test don’t include longevity of machines and to me makita has never failed me so why try something else
very comprehensive review. I have seen a few others that features just a few machines. I am 6'3" and find that most (including my gas Toro with the horrible height adjustments) are designed for shorter people. My back complains about stooping for short handles. I have looked at machines in stores EGO seems adjustable higher than others that I have seen. I saw handle height wasn't covered and appreciate that it would be impossible to cover all factors. I liked that EGO scored well with your ergo category as that is probably the most important to me, assuming a good cut. As you mentioned, I am well invested with many DeWalt tools and was hopeful, but in every review DeWalt has ranked poorly.
Hey Rob you gotta get with youtube. I'm subscribed and not the notifications bell, but this video is a month old and I'm just now seeing this. I love the head 2 head videos.
I’m sorry are you saying you did click the notification bell or you have not done that. You have to click on the notification bell to be notified a Videos.
I am a bit confused because as a subscriber you should get notifications
@@ConcordCarpenter no I have been a subscriber for years and have had the notification bell hit for years as well. I really enjoy your videos and the real world testing of the tools.

Hey Rob been watching ur views the last few months from new Zealand I'm a multi tool man and RYOBI MAN I see in the big American Ryobi is got alot of big outdoor tools 🤔🤞😎plus we do not have here plus I know HP Ryobi brushless tools is American versions of tools made by Milwaukee
I just bought the Ryobi you tested here and overall I am fairly happy with it but only used it once so far for my initial spring cutting and leaf cleanup. I needed another battery to finish the job.
Two things that annoyed me you didn't really mention in your reviews for all mowers was needing to engage the blades to use the drive feature. This combined with having to push AGAINST the motors makes it really inconvenient to move the mower around while NOT mowing or if the batteries die.
As far as rating them I think you need some kind of grass cut/dollar ranking. The Ryobi is expensive because about $500 of the cost is two 6AH batteries plus a rapid charger. The mower itself is only $300. The cheap mowers in your pack wouldn't handle a very big yard and buying enough batteries for larger yards should be factored in somehow to ranking.
What I am puzzled about is huge difference in mowing per watt hour, it just doesn't make sense why the Ryobi seems so inefficient. Is the drive consuming all that power?
It is the only awd mower here, the rest just have one motor on the rear. It also has the LED headlights. Both these features seem like a waste of weight and power
The Milwaukee site has many complaints about the 12.0 batteries and poor customer support. Stihl dealers don't have any stock available. EGO has great reviews including support. Ryobi awd seems appealing for hills but idk, now priced at $899 + tax = too much money!
EGO reminds me of Festool. But, without the quality feel.
Why do you say that? You obviously haven’t used any of their products, e.g. weed trimmer with carbon fiber shaft, mower with aircraft aluminum grade handle, tool quality polymers, fast charger with blue tooth wireless connectivity. I’m invested in Milwaukee, with the only deviation being half my OPE. I have the EGO mower with 10 amp battery and weed trimmer and the Milwaukee Fuel Gem 1 and 2 blowers and M18 Fuel Hedge Trimmer.
The EGO weed trimmer has an auto string winder, which is very cool. I bought the weed whacker at Home Depot for $60.00, as they were getting rid of their EGO inventory. I bought the EGO Select Cut mower at Lowes for $649.00, after haggling with them. I think they’re selling now for $799.00. So I definitely got worth what paid for.
I don’t own any Festool, but my Milwaukee M12 Fuel Installation Driver smokes the similar Festool driver.
You just thought you’d type a cute comment….
@@martylucas8557 Never used Festool before, but you're going to go on a rant bragging about how much you have spent on tools and insult me for a simple personal opinion? What is wrong with you?
Any reason why Worx Cordless mowers did not make it to the top 16?
Toolbox Buzz shirts, are they available for sale? Great review, just wish cut quality was included. i own the 2nd place winner and the cut quality is merely adequate.
Yes in the teespring store below video discription
The Kobalt 40V, I believe as stated as a push mower, well the model and info below the article is for the self propelled 40v. The push mower is KPM 1040A-03 and $100 cheaper
Thanks we’ll correct the number in the description below and article
The Kobalt is ok. My brother in law has one. It knocked down 750 square feet of 2 foot tall very thick over seeded/fertilized lawn on 1 -4 ah battery and 1- 2 ah battery. It didn't stall out. It took more than a few passes to get the cut even. The vacuum action is ok. Kind of lacking but for what you pay, it's a decent enough mower.

I'm kinda missing the Metabo brand in multiple of your tests. Nonetheless very great tests 👍
