@@peachykeen7634 if I'm not mistaken, he's 11. Jonah learned from Ben Hollar, a friend of Justin and Rebecca's, from the Hollar Homestead. They are another awesome homesteading family to follow.
@@HollerGramma hahaha!! Thank you for the correction... why did I think he was 11? Oh my word... they aren't my children, but just like a parent, I don't want them to grow up😂
I love that you include your kids and authentically let them take credit for solving problems on the farm without critiquing them!!!! Love, love, love it!!!
I love that the fact that Jonah seems to really love welding and you don't have to ask him to do anything. He sees what needs to be done and does it. Nice butterfly 🦋 by the way. Great job Jonah 👏🏾
I’ve enjoyed your videos for about 4 years now🥰 I love how Lilly is such a good worker she’s so lucky to be getting all the experience she’s getting from this life style. Well all your children are so adept and that’s great that says a lot about what kind of parents you two are. Keep rockin the homestead 🤘🥰
If both geese attacked the same chicken, I would start to think there is something amiss with that particular chicken, but I'm not a farmer (yet) 😉 Thank you for sharing your adventures.
The farming/homesteading marketplace is so awesome!! I love Abundance+ !! I'm trying to encourage people to check it out. I love that you have created a platform for homesteading and self sustainability that is uninhabited like RUclips, allowing the real scenes to be shown, because homesteading is not all pretty, and what can be seen and learned on Abundance+ is the reality of butchering your own food, and much more. Not that what we view on RUclips isn't reality, but it's missing some of the crucial aspects that people need to know, see, and learn. I also love the docu-series that you began and now other homesteaders are jumping on board. They are encouraging, and really touch on the deeper aspects of homesteading and the homesteaders. There is a quote from Jessica Sowers, from Roots n Refuge, that I live by now, and she says, "Turn your waiting room into a classroom." Watching you all, watching on Abundance+, is my classroom, while I'm patiently waiting for my due season when I finally have my homesteading place.
Our ancestors knew how to barter. It’s great seeing your community doing that. I think your plan/with Ur pigs- spot on. growing up … we would cook them underground. I also grew up going to barn dance’s. Times have changed ‼️ It’s a beautiful thing seeing how: you and your wife are raising your children. Much admiration
Another awesome video, Justin & Fam. We are just starting out on our journey in homesteading Down Under. Your videos are so encouraging, dealing with the real issues of life yet staying focused on what you are achieving. Thanks for everything you do.
I'm a 76 year old that grew up in an era when girls looked for cool guys with fast hot rods. I'm sorry to say I think that had a lot to do with where this country is today. Now I've seen some of our younger women more interested in a good guy with a tractor. I think there may be hope. Thank you for being there to teach and encourage those who are seeking out this life.
Your eldest son is impressing me more and more. Your doing a great job raising your family. And as a young adult it Gives me inspiration for this way of life. Your raising a nice young man. Thanks for your content.
Watching your videos is the perfect antidote to reading the depressing news. I really believe that the way you are bringing homesteading families together - to trade knowledge and labor and livestock - may be a harbinger of a new grassroots (literally) movement that cuts through the stale old political and corporate systems that have been strangling humans for too long now. Respect!
When my son took welding in high school, he made me a big, heavy praying mantis. 23 years later, minus the antennae, it has survived several moves, and sits in my yard today, 6,000 miles from its 'birthplace'.
Never a dull moment in Spring at the farm! The braces that Jonah made work really well! Nice job Jonah! Wow, that mulch is really deep. Cucumbers and onions planted! Too bad the heifers got away! Nice Mother's Day present Jonah! So cute seeing the pigs wallow in the water that drained from the pig waterer. Nice, Abundance+ Market Place! I'll have to check it out.
Justin keep it simple ! Your channel grew because we like to watch the farm work its that simple ! This was a good video one of the better ones in a long time !
Everything you guys do is interesting I like to see chores like to see your family like to see different things you all do and your health, cooking, like I said everything’s interesting
Jonah is such a valuable asset to your farm and family! All of the kids are really, but I guess with him being older he is capable of more. He is so set up for success with the way you are raising your kids! xoxo
Winnie is a working dog, not a pet. There is a major difference. It's just like dogs that disabled people have to aid them, those dogs are not for playing with and they know their purpose. That's why many of them even have a sign on them to "please do not pet me, I am working". Too many people don't know the difference.
@@robynwilson842 perhaps not locking up, no, but she was getting out constantly instead of staying with the sheep she was supposed to be guarding. Maybe you could offer some ideas?
This mishaps, the kids, Henry talking, murdering geese, and runaway cows, are what makes this interesting. Did you all get your new walk in cooler put in action yet? Would love to see that.
for the pig rotation. is the 80 day rest time a set in stone number or can it vary? also you are doing an acre total, so if the rest time is set in stone, would that be 80 day rest per acre regardless of paddock size? i am wanting to rotate my pigs but i dont understand i guess how often to rotate and how long the rest time is before putting animals back on that area. thanks for your time.
