Gorgeous ! I’ve had this in my « watch later » List for ages but only just got around to watching. Brilliant filming as always. That blue livery on Agecroft Nº3 is stunning.
What a great little railway. If ever there was a 1:1 12“ to 1’ model railway, this is it! I’m in love 😂❤
Thanks Lawrie 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
I remember seeing both of these engines working at their respective homes when I was a kid...and yes...copping a footplate ride too.
Oh that must have been great!
Hi, Lawrie. Another great video…thanks for the plug at the end! And you caught me on film several times! Does that make me famous, now?! 😂😂😂
I think so yes!
Wow grate dcc sounds
The smoke sync to sound is great too
Thank you, had a lovely ride, vicariously, but lovely just the same!😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@lmm I always do.
15 years of the Whitwell Reepham Railway Celebration Gala. Chasing Dinosaurs Ep. 29 Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels LOVE LOUIS SHIRLEY
Glad you enjoyed it
Im really glad that you enjoyed May, shes our little beauty
Cracking engine. I had a lovely afternoon on it
It looked like a great day out. Makes me want to pop over to the Chasewater railway at some point to watch their industrial loco's in action.
That's a super railway too
I really like the little industrial engines there! They don't seem grand enough to run a mainline service, but give the impression that if given the chance, they would run the mainline with flying colors.
There are plans afoot for a longer line
The intro takes me back to 1984, good stuff.
Thank you!
Hi Lawrie, great video of the gala at Whitwell & Reepham 👍 I really like to visit this amazing short railway as this is the kind of railways I like to visit because of the length of track as well having small locos with a brake van or one carriage up & down on a demonstration line. I’m heading to Didcot tomorrow to see not one, but two GWR castle class as well my personal favourite Trojan in action.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope Didcot was good
@@lmm I had a great day out Lawrie, I not only went to Didcot to celebrate Pendennis birthday, but also to see Sir Nigel Gresley & Clun Castle on the main line as well.
What a lovely sounding whistle, @6:52 !
It is!
Another great and enjoyable video. It looks like you got good weather too. Hope you have as much fun this weekend with it too :)
Thank you very much!
It was a really nice little event. I was the chap that spoke to you about the Scotsman chaos on its first run, which funnily enough I got an 8 year memory post the following day!
Great to chat to you and reminisce

Great video.
Cracking video this one Lawrie! Turned out to be a most enjoyable gala. I remember talking to you about BVR in the cafe lol.
Oh yes, I still want to get over there
Great video. I visited this line a few years ago. They were talking about getting tracks into the old platforms. Is that still happening or on hold?
They're working on it
👍👍
👍
Lawrie are places like this still having issues of getting fuel for the steam engines?
Yes and no. A lot of the coal is now imported in from South America or Kazakhstan. The coal mine in Wales that once served the heritage rail sector was forced to close down due to net zero climate targets last year. Some railways have also been trialling a half and half mix of coal and bio coal in their locomotives.
Not really, new suppliers have been found. It's just more expensive
saw you enjoying yourself on some one elses film for a change.
It is a rarity 😂
What is the purpose of having those glass boxes around the water tube inspection thing😮
If the glass breaks the driver and firemen are not shit with glass and keeps the steam under control.
The tubes show us the amount of water in the boiler, but they're insert the same pressure as the boiler, so on Agecroft that's 150psi.
The protectors are there to stop the glass going everywhere in the case of a gauge glass failing and exploding.
Hello
Hello
Second
Sorry jago but you made an error I have been stuck in many train traffic jams, usually caused by bad track layouts at terminating stations I.e Horsham sussex among many
Pardon?
@@lmm sorry was commenting on another video but it changed as I hit enter and comment went to wrong video
I've had a couple of those of this one - very strange
