Great video and awesome list man! The only one I would personally add to my list would be the Room 237 from Penguin Magic. I feel like they are extremely overlooked and just not talked about very much, but they are an absolutely beautiful deck!
I think the cards are pretty great. I always look forward to something new!
I personally prefer more simplistic designs or modern/pattern/geometric card and font designs, but I can find myself collecting some of these. You showed some really pretty and awesome decks featuring amazing works so I really enjoyed this video regardless.
amazing video, loved the riffle shuffle deck 😍
Loved the video, thanks!
I agree with most of these, but I would probably have found room for a couple more Thirdway and Jocu decks. ;) Great video as always mate!!!
I’ll let you in on a secret. I could have probably put another TWI deck or two on here if you pressed me. 😂
Top 5 is amazing. Masterpieces. .. Nice video.
Great list of decks. 👍👍👍👍
Great recommendations in this video!
Great list! I would have moved hummingbird up but I think we have a very similar list! Thanks for the shout as well.
That was a tricky one for me to place. I love what they did with it. But I also always dock points for standard courts. It is a fantastic deck though.
Great list! Lots of amazing decks here.
It was such a great year!
Great vid man what are your top 10 decks of all time??
Amazing video, I've recently started to collect cards and I love your channel!
That’s awesome! Hope I can help you discover some goodies.
@@TheCardGuyReviews yeah you've got me hooked on the thirdway industries decks!
Yes I have also collected 3 decks
@@nicolaslesperance8532 hah yeah i just dropped a grand because of tim 😂
I actually prefer The Secret and Moresque from the honorable mentions :D
Either way, thanks for the look at these decks!
Amazing. So lucky lol. I'm so jelly 🤣 need all of them haha 🤣
These are THE 12 to get!
I'm not a fair judge, I really only go for decks that are usable for game-play. So for me I certainly agree with Hummingbird, 52+Joker, and BlueJay (Harry Potter would be an honorable mention). I can appreciate the art in the others they're just what I like in playing cards.
There's been a lot of great decks last year. Some that I really liked and are not mentioned here : Card Cuts Jungle 2021, Pinocchio Vermilion II Ed, The Beatles by T11, Jellyfish by Penguin Magic, Mindfulness by Art Of Play.
Fantastic additions! Pinocchio in particular is a masterpiece, although I did not consider it for this year since the main design was from a previous year.
I absolutely adore the The Grand Golden Glamor Deck and it is one of my top decks, but i might be bias towards these cause of the art deco style.
Not sure if they came out in 2021 tho.
I'm pretty new to card collecting. I have two card decks already, but the first one was before I was interested in cards so I don't know if that should count. Bought the latest one just a while ago. Pretty cheap ones but you gotta start somewhere right? Within reason ofc, money don't grow on trees hehe. Subbed!
Fun list; personally hummingbird feather just has to be faaaaar higher, maybe my personal 1 but I can see top three all day.
Amen to list especially top 1!!!!
Hindsight is one of the best decks I’ve seen in a few years now. Simply stunning.
@@TheCardGuyReviews same as you Tim, this is also my first NPCCD and the tuck is very unique
UMBRA (the gilded one) by Jody Eklund is one of my favorites of 2021.
Jody always does amazing work. Umbra was such a good follow up to Luminosity!
Comparing the price of the decks theory11 has great value
Will you do a "crystal ball" video on what decks we mght see in 2022?
Oh man...that would be a fun one. Not sure, though. What few little tidbits I know...I would not want to spoil for the creators behind them! A few things that I think are ALWAYS good advice:
1. The Inner Circle from Jocu is a winner. Predicted today.
2. Thirdway has some tremendous stuff coming on Patreon and an upcoming campaign that will be one of his best.
3. Lorenzo has teased some upcoming work on Patreon as well. If it HALF lives up to the vision, it's going to be stunning.
4. Riffle Shuffle will release 8-10 more "fancy" designs from different artists. I'll buy them all. Love them all.
Some of your mentions suck, cards must had standard size values (jumbo is okay sometimes) but extra small is no bueno, makes them too much to play with. I found this a problem with the Avengers set from Theory 11.
Haha - glad to see you like the picks! I think everyone is going to look at cards a bit differently. For me, I definitely lean heavily into concept, theme and artwork - even at the expense of usability.
If I was going to judge usability, I would definitely go in a very different direction.
But that's the beauty of the hobby - so many different ways to collect!
Where do I buy these?
do a video on the Bicycle NFT cards.
I’d love to check em out. But I don’t think I’ll be picking them up unfortunately.
What is the name of the second honorable mention deck?
And how much do they cost and where can I buy it?
It's called Moresque from Oath Playing Cards. They run a little under $20 and you can get them here: www.oathplayingcards.com/product-page/moresque-player-s-edition
Any plans for giveaways?
Why is it called a ‘tup case?’
Not sure if I had a slip of the tongue, but I assume that was “tuck case”! And THAT I assume is either because you “tuck” the cards into it, or because closing it means “tucking” the flap in.
Why 2 and not 3 joker?
Not sure what you mean by this one?
@@TheCardGuyReviews there are usually 2 jokers per deck. However, I know two decks (brands...) with 3 jokers, why isn't that constantly the same? my own game which I invented you need 3 jokers...
if the harry potter one wasn't about Harry Potter would have been perfect.
What’s wrong with Harry Potter?? 😅
@@TheCardGuyReviews I just think it just tales prestige away from the cards haha and the work of the artists. it makes it more comercial.
@@alpacamale2909who gives a shit about that, theyre great cards.
MOResque? It means Moorish in design or style. Then why aren’t the court cards Moors (the Moors were African, and were black ppl)? They’re all still Arab Court cards! Kinda a little racist, and def a tad embarrassing (if you know what Arabesque and Moresque mean).
My understanding here is that the word Moresque is a reference to a particular art style that you see used throughout the deck, as opposed to a race of people. The art style was used throughout Europe and has Arab roots to it.
Really enjoyed watching your incredible collection. subscribed too ☺🩵
