Not to mention that The WWAN slot only has 1 lane for 900MB/s. Unless you want to install a second OS and make it dual bootable. If you have a default 256gb storage and just want more storage you can just buy 1TB samsung 970 evo plus for like $90 and clone your old ssd with Samsung Magician software. I recently bought a used t480s and also wanted to add a second ssd at first because it came with only a 256gb ssd. Yes, it worked fine for me. Are you looking to upgrade the main SSD or the WWAN SSD? If it's the latter, I got the Western Digital SN520 from eBay. SN530's are incompatible and might fry your board.
You're welcome and thanks as well. Unfortunately, I do not have any plans to do a WWAN + antenna video at the moment. I can imagine the challenge that sourcing T480-specific antennas might be. Hopefully, universal antennas exist. Good luck!
I believe this only works with specific brands/models/sizes. I tried a Transcend 1TB with the B/M keys and it was not recognized. However, the WD model shown in the video worked perfectly
While the Transcend with B/M keys is m.2 2242, it's SATA and not PCIe 3x2. This is the reason why it wasn't recognized. I'm glad the WD worked well for you!
