I have a Dual 621 turntable, and among my collection of 4 it is the best sounding one. I think that has to do with the suspended counterweight at back of the tonearm. Everything sounds good on it. I saw you spent a good chunk of time on the counterweight and was hoping to hear you speak about it. The spring that supports the center weight is always relaxed and sagging after 40-ish years. The sagging weight is a big turn-off to a lot of people, but all it needs is to have the spring (flat spring steel) re-bent, or even replaced with something similar (like out of a battery compartment from a radio, or flashligh...) and it is as good as new. Sometimes you can get away with turning the balance screw (in the back of it) in further to re-balance the weight. I have re-conditioned two of these counterweights and can say that it is well worth the time and effort. The Dual 621 is indeed a premium deck that does not get the respect it deserves.
Great video, that's one beautiful turntable, and you did a fantastic job bringing it back to life, keep up the great work, greetings from Dallas, TX USA 😃
I purchased one for $39. It was delivered in one piece fully functional. I know nothing about turntable repair and I know it needs a lube job badly. The inside looks like a Swiss watch😱😳

Thank you for the video! I have the same unit. Do you know where I can purchase a Steuerpimpel? I believe part #242 753.
Use the inside of a coax cable for a diy steuerpimpel, use a tiny drill bit to route out the the proper diameter., cut to height. Thank me later
Best RUclipsr out there
