Nah, they’re so much easier to understand bc other tutorials are usually by professionals that act like everything’s easy

Sometimes, its easier for an "amateur" to explain another amateur without using complex/professional wording, since they both are learning, going through the same experience, which makes it more approachable to get the point across more effectively... while Pro has so much experience already, that the line between what defines a "newcomer" and "someone who's expected to have some basics " becomes hard to mesure for them, and they end up confusing those in between.

@uwu Is firealpaca bad? I actually just started drawing digitally and just went with it cuz a friend uses it.

Fire alpaca is pretty easy to use, and its free so thats a plus!
And you can also animate in firealpaca when you click the "view" button and click "onion skin mode"
But you would have to edit the frames in an editing software..at least thats what I do since the downloading process doesn't really work for me....lol
That reflective eye color technique was mind blowing for me. I've always felt that, once colored, my eyes never looked quite right. Something about them was off, and they were too "flat" no matter what I did. But I think this tutorial helped me figure out what I was missing. Nice work dude
Edit: I spoke to soon, there's SO MANY TECHNIQUES that blew my mind here. Definitely coming back to this video for tips.

My paint program (FireAlpaca, I'm too broke for SAI,) doesn't seem to have "preserve opacity." It does have "protect alpha," is that the same thing?

Yes it is! I used to use FireAlpaca, so I'll recommend to you a program made by the same people that I upgraded to! MediBang Paint is a free art program that, on a fundamental level, is designed just like FireAlpaca with the same terminology and uses. However, the program has more tools such as brushed and free transform for your art! Plus it is designed to be in "nighttime mode" so all the boxes and such are dark grays and black instead of FireAlpaca's default white. Easier on the eyes. MediBang just has more tools but is easy to switch to if you're a FireAlpaca user since it's made by the same people and has the same fundamentals, so I would definitely recommend it!
