This new generation of kids will never know how important this demo disk was. These games stayed in my memory for years until I grew up & could afford them and play them all the way through. 29 y/o now, but played this demo when I was 5. Nostalgia hitting hard
I remember getting this when I was 16 in 1999 at our local pizza hut on a friday night. I remember being blown away by the FF8 demo and the beautiful cinematic. I wasn't much of a final fantasy fan, at least till I saw that and played the demo.
Seeing the differences for Ape Escape is neat, among them Spike was voiced by a girl and you got gadgets earlier. Plus the time station beta looked pretty cool; also 6 cookies
This commercial back in the day brings back a shit ton of nostalgia 😔 I remember the demo discs I played were, Spyro 2, Mister Mosquito, Star Wars Jedi Star Fighter, Tony Hawk Proskater, Ape Escape, Crash Team Racing, etc...
Thank you for the upload. I keep forgetting how long the SeeD exam really is. But I'm glad they at least, for the most part, gave us that aspect. It just feels weird having Rinoa in place of Sifer and Selphie.
Man I’m smiling from ear to ear knowing my step pops work at Pizza Hut and he was bring me the demos tomb raider was the first game that got me into other games like uncharted, assassins creed etc gt2 got me hooked to actual racing and knowing how tune up cars at 7 yrs old, who doesn’t love Tetris, Spyro was awesome crash bandicoot always been a fun game

Born in 92. I didn’t own a ps1, but I had a friend who did along with the first pizza hut demo disc. We would take turns going thru all the games and wishing they were the full versions to keep the fun going. Good times.

I was born the next year in 1990. God, the original PlayStation can’t be beat in terms of the nostalgia. It was such a revolution in terms of consoles, and it seems like even the worst games still bring such a wave of nostalgia.
this was my favorite demo disc of them all. all 3 really had great titles but this one was jam packed with bangers, my brothers and i all had something to play. brady was into Xtreme sports, scott was into the rpgs, and because of those two i grew up loving just about every game.
My God… my heart… I used to play this disc so much. Time seemed so infinite and life was so simple. Such great times. I really wish things were that simple yet fun again. Thank you for this video.
My depression draws me into nostalgia, but sometimes my nostalgia worsens my depression because I miss these days so much and don't think life will ever feel so good again...
I probably played this demo disc 100 hours since they were all games i wanted but couldnt afford. Looking back i can see why basically every game on it was gold.
This hits me so fucking hard! I live in wisconsin and got pizza hut every birthday I had With a Dairy queen ice cream cake.... This brings me back memories so bad!!!
this right here was my first introduction to sounds like this and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It completely influenced my taste in music later in life. That wavy transient type of sound. 5:12
Does anyone know anything about the menu music? I remember a different demo disc came with our ps1 when we bought and it used the same track. Did all demo discs use this title track or something?
God this demo disc blew me away when i was 15, i remember me and my lil bro would switch off on Tony Hawk for hours. Whats interesting is that the FF8 demo uses a beta version of the Dollet landing track. It had to be changed for retail due to similarities to i think the title theme from The Rock.
Sony shouldn’t have NEVER shut down its Japanese studio because they’re the whole reason why PlayStation was more popular in than other consoles in the first place.
Dang bro. 16:9 you're just stretching the pixels. It doesn't look good. These games are meant to be displayed at 4:3 ratio unless you use some kind of fan-made hack that can wides the viewing angle.
This deserves to be preserved in a museum. The nostalgia high I’m getting from this is staggering.
Can you people stop using that word
@@magiccarp3710 What word, museum?
Let us all stand and salute the man that not only kept the disc and his PlayStation but was kind enough to record it and put it online. God bless you

Ah, that commercial is bringing me back. To my days of playing games on demo discs.
I had completely forgotten about the ad. The nostalgia hit me like a Mack truck.
And you still never left wisconsin
This disc is a totem to a certain set of kids from the 90’s. This demo introduced me to THPS..nuff said.
I ended up getting THPS, and Ape Escape from this
I played every th game
Tony hawk and mech warriors cool borders
So here I am doing everything I can
Holding on to what I am
Pretending I’m a Superman!
(Side note: that song hits different in your thirties)
Aw man I had this same exact disc the beat almost made me shed a tear
Mann.. the sounds, the music, everything 🥺 I played the heck out of those demos

This demo disc brings me back.
To my days in Wisconsin. .
Pizza Hut, Playstation, tedious winters...
That pizza was so good. This time was legendary.

I still have this disc. I sometimes play ape escape.
I still have it too. The opening video skips really bad but the games all work. I kind of like playing the demo versions from time to time
Ape escape was such a technical marvel for the time. Insanely creative game for the tech it was developed for.
I spent so many hours playing these games! I couldn’t remember which Final Fantasy was on the disc, so thanks for posting!
Pizza Hut PS1 Demo Disc 1 (1999)
Ape Escape
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Crash Team Racing
CoolBoarders 4
Final Fantasy VIII
This is nostalgia in it's purest form.
I played the hell out of the Ape Escape and FFVIII demos as a kid.
I lost the 3 demo discs I had quite a couple years ago and it makes me sad 😞
Final fantasy 8 was such a beautiful game during its time
I remember all of this so incredibly clearly

The farthest I got when I was younger was the boss. Also upset they had to change the music

Omggg yesssss. I had this disc and the other one with red faction. Looooved it.
Holy shit I wish I still had my disc :(

The pizza hut demos didn't have any boring games🙏🏾
I ported the rom to psp a few years ago, good stuff

It's pretty cool that pizza hut has it own game menu I wonder how this did it.

Yeah, I think it was common for multiple demos to use a lot of the same music.

I remember owning this! Been looking for this for a long time now
Its interesting to see the beta/non-finalversions of Ape Escape/CTR/FF8 on here honestly.
My cousin had this demo disk and I remember playing this demo disk there so many times. Its so nostalgic and most the games were really good
Where I found my love for FF8
I can still taste the original Stuffed Crust Pizza now courtesy of my Mum!!!!! 💯
Wow this brings back memories..
I played this demo disc so much as a kid.
I could swear I had the first PlayStation demo disc but, it didn't have FF VIII. Instead it had a monster battle game.
The nostalgia is palpable...
I remember putting Demo Disc 2 into a cd player and hearing Rob Zombie's remix of Dragula
Fuuuuck I remember this
Ok but why did I have a bootleg cd of this
CTR is part of me childhood
Omg I wanna cry
Spikes voice different plus music too
We were so lit
I need this lmao
Blaze down the mountain on your phat snowboard😂
man, N64 and PS1 were the shit!
They came to war in shorts... Lol
This is 1 thing sony did so well, free games basically, nintendo was so damn cheap!!!
God I wish Ape Escape kept the subtitles and japanese audio in the full game and a toggleable feature...
Does anyone remember a PS1 demo disc that had some black dude beat boxing on it, I think it had something to do with Marc Echo but can't remember 🤔🤷
i remember that commercial but i dont remember the wisconsin reference

In 90s where I get this CD? Paid or they gave it free?
They were given for free with an order of stuffed-crust pizza from Pizza Hut at the time. There were three different CDs.
Can't play this on PS2 like I can some PS1 games 😢
The disc is compatible to play on PS2.
Lol lit 😄 remember this
loved this disc as a kid too bad i dont have my ps2 anymore
this was for the playstation or ps1
@@monkybot1059 You can play ps1 games on ps2
Why does Tony Hawk look bald? Haha
This was back when Tony bleached his hair.
