I think this was the first Rallycross meeting I ever went to. I remember being staggered at how fast the cars were on the loose!! The noise, the smell, the speed!!! The golden years of Rallycross. Awesome. 👍🏻
Mark lived in the Middleton tyas area .near scotch corner ..north Yorkshire. Saw his bus back in the early 80s ..b4 he had the rs200 s the boy did great
yeah, and they had the quattro in third for awhile. i never watched much quattro on tarmac. i see why it didnt perform as well. its really just meant to all out on gravel
The Final start :D Stuertist hardly got out from the grid when the lights went out. Dimi did not expect it to happen so fast and clearly missed the start so makes you think did the british have a tip about it. Thank you for the videos. Out of curioisity what VHS player you have? Quite good quality.

I did the signwriting on Mark Rennison’s RS200....real paint, not stickers. DSRM...Darlington Steel Rolling Mills...long gone ! 🥴👍🏼
All these years later.... and i still thoroughly enjoyed watching that!
you CANNOT miss that ford s200 out in front. such a classic design of a car. that hood scoop cannot be mistaken.
Those were the days of TV showing some good sport.
I was there!
The great days of Rallycross.
Crazy to be able to hear the drivers giving a running commentary. Good show with some classic cars getting thrashed!
Thanks for posting this, good to hear all those old names again. 😊

Yep. All of them rallycross legends.
Great to see cars sliding and the drivers working hard to keep them vaguely pointed in a straight line :-)
Good point well made, too safe and computerised these days

Quattro’s appeared in rallycross 82/83 😉 85/86 for the RS200’s
" I think what's happened is the back of the cars fallen off, can't do much about that..." understatement of the vid .
On TV and for free!!!!.
