I do maintenance for 107 units and every time I have a plumbing issue and google it your videos pop up. I appreciate you taking the time to show your work.
never had much luck with super-vee ... took mine off the truck and just use k-50 with 3/8 drum or 5/8 sectionals ... always love the black mung and grease slinging everywhere ... just because it made it out the sink or tub people just think it's gone for forever ... nice job Steve keepem comin!
I always get a chuckle out of hearing you ask questions sometimes "hang on is that spinning?" and i have to resist the urge to go "nah your good keep going"
chingaso316LOST lol great show though! They filmed most of the show about five min from my house here in NJ and on the main ave here. I got a few pics of James Gandolfini filming at a store in town of course giving everyone the finger smh lol
Our sink backs up into the lower bathroom when we run the garbage disposal. The owners before us renovated and built that bathroom. It didn’t exist when the house was first built. We believe that they might’ve hooked the bathroom and the kitchen on the same wastewater pipe with a twin or triplet connector which is causing it to backup; or there is an obstruction in the kitchen line which is making it backup in the bathroom. The weird thing is, is that it only backs up if we run things down the garbage disposal.
some boiling water down the drain every now and then helps break up the muck...I try to tell me tenants that....some listen ..some don't. great job steve.
what if u rent, landlord doesn't help & you don't own a snake ? And can't afford one. Can the vent be clogged ? My kitchen sink is a VERY slow drain, my bathroom sink in now filling up the bathtub & takes , up to 8 + hrs to drain ! HELP ! PS: toilet's fine, I fixed that myself
You can rent a snake for a reasonable amount of money from places like Home Depot and Lowe's. It's very hard to diagnose or give direction without being able to ask a slew of questions and see the layout of your fixtures, what materials your drain system is comprised of, age of the system, and so on. I can tell you right now, 99% of the time, your problem will not be a clogged vent. Most problems with slow drains, in older homes or those with multiple residents, when the issue is not something literally falling into a drain or getting flushed down the toilet (toys, bottles of hygiene products, etc), the issue is drain corrosion resulting in excessive buildup of the fats, oils, and greases that accumulate from the kitchen, laundry, and showering. Oftentimes in older homes, these problems will need to be resolved with mechanical cleaning of the pipe walls. However, if you have issues with slow drains, go buy one of those 3 foot long little plastic drain cleaners with bristly ends (available at most big box stores) and just push that into your drain and scrape the walls of the pipe: this will remove hair and other buildup that is frequently the cause of most slow drains. Finally, consider using baking soda and vinegar, followed by copious amounts of hot water to help resolve buildup. Avoid things like Draino, especially in older systems with cast iron, as this can end up staying within the pipes and eating away at them. Consider an enzymatic option instead, something like Green Gobbler. Hope some of that helps.
"And we worry about everybody else." Very well said. How do those currently struggling fare when we allow tens of millions more desperate people into the country? About as well as they will when the police no longer have funding

From Western Massachusetts, watching now to learn more... same issues
Oooh momma she's draining again! Good job Steve
I am watching and doing my sink and tub!
just wondering, why did you drop the whole trap instead of using the clean-out plug?
Steve’s a working again y’all
why didn't you just go threw the clean out cap on the left, wouldn't have had to take the hole thing apart,
A bit hard to know if you are going down or up to the vent is the only reason I can think of.
To check the trap.
thanks again Steve for a great plumbing video.
Hi Steve, How much did you charge for this repair?
Good man for hooking my guy up with some good work for a reasonable price
Steve...it looked as though you could have spent an entire week there repairing and replacing the old plumbing and fixtures.
+Tom Smith ya some old stuff there
God dang is that an old tub 😲 I love the way he talks... I'm from Chicago and told I sound New York, is that a Boston accent I'm hearing? 🤔

This must be a good customer, because normally you would have told him to "call a drain cleaning company."

+keith kennedy hot water is a good idea can not hurt
Except when grease causes the blockage. It will liquefy, cool off and then solidify further downstream as a big lump.
baby the dog looks very comfortable, I think she's a keepa mama !
good work steven
Why not go through the clean out instead of taking the drain apart?
And the SuperVee knocks down another nasty one. Good video, Steve.
