Beerus was originally designed to be a crocodile god, but when Akira's hairless cat got really sick he decided to redesign him as a hairless cat in memory of it. His cat actually lived btw.
The beerus in this movie is far more endeering compared to the one in the anime. He's way more laid back and fits perfectly with the people of earth
Yeah i really like this Beerus, him and Whis are a great duo.
Prolly Toriyama being a writer helps- I mean he wrote Beerus to be the way he is in this movie
I guess they wanted to give him more of an antagonistic view in the anime but yeah the movie is better in my opinion
Eeeh anime Beerus is writing that way so he doesn’t intervene too much in the plot he does care for the people of earth he is A too stubborn to show it (like a cat) and B like messing with them

And so far, we've only gotten one movie that justifies it, and a bunch of crap that makes you realize GT was taken for granted.
@SonicMegaKing I don't think you seen GT recently. Oh boy it is so hard to watch due to how bad it is until Baby or Omega Shenron... Everything before and after it worse than the worst of Super. Which even then there are plenty of bad parts to Super. But GT is way worse.....even vs. other bad anime. Alot of screaming at the show "Just go Super Sayian!!! Even just fly! You can fly!! Fly!"

Yo that "I will not let you destroy my world" line as well as the scream goes hard. Especially if you watch the behind the scenes for this movie and see Goku's va yelling his head off during it.
That's the highlight of the movie for me

I thought there were making a reference to how Dende acts in Abridged, where he gets all jealous over Gohan being with anyone else.
The first time when they said "Lil green"I wasn't sure if they were guessing with the time skip; but then it looked like the realized when they actual say "Dende."

Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, DBS: Broly, and Super Hero are all canon movies just incase some of you guys didn’t know.
battle of gods and rof arent canon anymore, they got retconned by the anime

Also the Manga has a different series of events than the anime as well. You can watch BoG and Resurrection F then continue with the Super anime and your viewing experience will be 98% the same as someone who only watched the anime

The anime is just ... well ... not canon ... it's like the filler bits in the original DBZ anime, that didn't exist in DBZ Kai ... the filler bits where not canon, just because it was in the anime. The same way, the changed bits from the movie in the anime are not canon, just because it's the anime ...
It gets confusing, what is canon and what isn't after DBZ, because canon typically means "follows the story of the original creator" ... so usually the manga ... but then Battle of Gods existed, without a manga, but was made by Akira Toriyama as a continuation (well "continuation", considering it plays before the end of DBZ) of DBZ ... the Battle of Gods manga only released afterwards ... same with the anime (obviously) ... and considering the manga isn't done solely by Akira Toriyama either, but together with his successor Toyotarou ... as I said, it gets complicated xD
technically Battle of Gods and Resurrection F are not. it's the retelling of those stories in Dragonball Super that is canon.
Btw that "70 percent" line isn't canon technically as Toriyama said it was a writing decision that he's since retracted as being factual at the very least.

@@orbboom6119it is. During Buu saga Vegeta could not become Super Sayian 2 until he was Majin Vegeta one reason for the deal with Babidi. So it's accepted he becomes SSj2 since. Which grinds Vegetas gears more that Goku had SSj3 when Vegeta sold out everything to become just SSJ2.
SSJ2 is just badly represented since and it's just mostly taken for granted they all go SSJ2 as a default. Even toryiama gets confused and so do the animators.
@jimwatson1013 vegeta already had SSJ2 before Majin. In the manga when Goku went SSJ2 for the split second against Yakon, Vegeta noticed and went " so Kakarot also surpassed the Super Saiyan wall"
And so a new era begins. 🗿🔥

The thing about Goku becoming slimmer when he became a God is because the transformation changed his body into it's most optimized form.
Beerus and Whis are the best additions to the new run of DB stuff, so glad you guys liked them too

It really does feel like a world of difference when Toriyama is actually on the writing team of a Dragon Ball movie

It's far closer to the original with the better voice acting compared to any previous dub. Only downgrade arguably is the music and that's never been a sticking point to me.

Something i love about super saiyan god is how it makes them look 'younger', considering most gods would have a far longer lifespan than a mortal the form making saiyans younger would make sense as the form literally makes them a form of deity

Even though Dragon Ball Super Broly is my current favorite Dragon Ball movie I still enjoy going back to this movie every once in a while as it introduced my favorite character Beerus to the series. I have a suggestion for editing. You dont have to do this all the time, but its good here and there: If theres a clip from pop vulture you want to reference, you can just play the clip at the same time the person says the joke the first time, or it feels like the joke is just repeated. You can obviously play it muted, or with the sound lowered or whatever floats your goat.

Honestly watching battle of gods and then resurrection f is the perfect way to start getting into dragon ball super, since the first two arcs of super are the movies, just drawn out more. You can start right into the tournament arcs. Hope you guys also check out the Buu Bits from TeamFourStar as well as HFIL.

As garbo as the anime is with handling the movie visually, the content overall is better in the anime. Which makes sense. This arc had like 19 eps and the movie is without credits about as long as 5 eps. And Resurrection F is barely just over 4 eps long in movie form. And the actual anime its 9. Granted its got some dragonball fluff. But this is a franchise that i enjoy fluff. I wanna see vegeta take bulma and trunks to a resort for an ep. But the movies especially this one were spectacles. It had people watching it who in middle and high school would clown on you for doing so. It was an experience. Broly was the only one i got to experience in theaters tho
