You can pull the Distributor out where ever it pointing at as long as it drops back in the same spot ur good to go. I pulled mine out and dropped it in place on first try
My brother is having trouble with his. He has the engine at top dead Center #1 cylinder.....he says every time he drops the Distributor in I think he said it faces #3 cylinder or #7 cylinder everytime ......what can he do to correct this????

The arrow you pointed to will only have the #8, the #6 will be clockwise at 9 o'clock on the distributor base.🙄
Is the Distributor with the #6on it just only for a 6 cylinder???
@@matthewvarnam4302 I have 1998 GMC Sierra SLE 5.7L and the distributor has both, v6 & v8 markings. They use same distributor base for both.
Mine left me sitting
3 2 1 😂
