Dude, that silent hallcreeper goes into millcrabs, holy shit. ANOTHER crab clone that triggers any existing crabs on enters, love it.
Add the mockingbird to the mix
@@hahahafunniness Mockingbird isn't bad, but it leaves the deck too reliant on the crabs to function. There's already the hallcreeper and that mirror room, plus Niko, all making crab clones which all also trigger Eerie. The biggest issue this deck is going to have is with aggro, it'll need some serious defenses.
I'm not saying it's constructed playable, because it's not, but Dashing Bloodsucker get +2/+0 _every time_ you trigger Eerie. It will occasionally hit like a truck with lifelink, which I think will make it at least a moderately plsyable card in limited.
Moderately playable?? It's going to be an insane life swing, that's going to be such a good card in the enchantment decks in limited.

I think the fact that Unstoppable Slasher is a Zombie makes him much better and a good addition to any Zombie deck. There are many ways to pump him up or make him unblockable. For example, with Zombie Master and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. You can even protect it with Zombie Master's second ability.
To me drafting this set seems like you are building your own scary movie to face off against another movie. Your survivors may need some antagonists for it to be a "good" movie, hence why they and Orphans of the Wheat are both cast (pun intended) to star in it!
Love the vids btw, Dev! Even when I'm not into the current sets I still always watch your previews. You're really chill and your sense of humor is the best!
There are other channels that give previews but I really enjoy your laid-back approach. Everyone gets so bombastic and is full of sensationalism talking about how wizards has lost their mind and everything is so busted blah blah blah blah blah... They are just cards. Let's enjoy them
I think the flavor for the Orphans is that they play with their toys (survival cards) but don't necessarily break them, just keep them alive for some more torture later.

Unstoppable Slasher is definitely a Michael Myers type, where he's pursuing one person (your opponent) relentlessly and simply killing anyone else if they get in his way. I think your classic "kills everyone in the camp" Jason type was already almost perfectly represented with Massacre Girl.
Silent Hallcreeper can only use each of its abilities once until it gets taken off the field, not once per turn. It'll only ever get the 2 +1/+1 counters, Draw the one card, and copy one creature.
What happens if a Silent Hallcreeper's ability copies another Silent Hallcreeper? Does the permanent's state "reset"? (pretty much a rules minutia layperson here)

Ironically for Unsettling Twins, the "Twins" saves the card, in the Shining they actually aren't twins, just sisters and the actresses were sisters as well. Idk about the flavor quote though lol.

Loved Bloomburrow and LOVE Duskmourn so far. MKM and OTJ nearly made me stop playing Arena cause it felt so bland and A.I. generated. But with BLB and DSK you can feel the guys having fun drawing the cards and coming up with the effects.
Not sure if I missed it but Wary Dog is a functional reprint of Wary Thespian which is already in standard.
Ah, I remember my first enters/dies: Hunting Moa. Even came with Echo, so you could just let it die, if you didn't have a sac outlet. Easily was Phyrexian Ghoul's favorite food in my reanimator decks.
Unstoppable Slasher + Hallcreeper is still a great combo because if you choose the copy mode on turn 3 (not sure you get the combat damage to a player trigger from Slasher, but if you do that's even better), and it dies, it will return as Hallcreeper thanks to Slasher's second ability, and you can start the modes over again (at least I think that's how that works).

I'm going to make a comment here, so I can forever be known as the guy who said it first. 😂 Think of a deck with Bloodletter of Aclazotz with the hallway creeper. When you copy Bloodletter the double damage stacks so it's exponential. Then With slasher and Mockingjay!?!?. I already play, a dimir Mockingjay Bloodletter deck that's amazing. Then if you throw In grievous wound and the demon tutor (remember Bloodletter is a demon) then youve got the combo in redundancy, but then The deck can just be good with out it based on just the slasher and mocking Jay and hallway creeper guy😮!!!!! Then with gossips take t to make em all unlockable even without silent hallcreeper !!!! Wowzer
Gossips talent + Unstoppable Slasher+Silent hallway Creeper + Mocking Jay + Bloodletter of Aclazotz + Grievous Wound + The Demon Tutor (maybe) + Some Removal + Rush of Dread (maybe) + Either hand disruption like Duress or some counter spells = Bad ace Dimir Deck!!!!

Comments, I need your help. Has Dev reviewed the cards "Say Its Name" and "Altanak, the Thrice-Called"? and if so, when was it? Those cards were revealled tuesday, but I swear I can't find the part he talks about it, and I don't know if he just missed them or if Valgavoth's madness is getting to me.

Lol, Hallcreeper swings turn 3 and gets two counters, mockingbird on turn four copying Slasher, swing in with the creeper and copy the bird, It’s funny, but I’m pretty sure Surge Engine is still faster,turn two creeper, turn three engine, swing with the creeper and get two counters, make the engine unblockable, turn four pump the engine up to a 5/4, swing with engine and creeper, copy the engine, make the creeper engine unblock-able, turn 5 pump the creeper engine and swing for lethal.
unstoppable slasher piqued my mono-black-inclined interest so much, the card is actually crazy for the rush of dread combo. now instead of a turn 5 rush of dread kill we have access to a turn 4 kill. that doesnt seem like it matters much but the every turn the opponent has to interrupt the setup the less likely it is that it will fire off
Very new to Magic. On Leyline of Mutation when it says “you may pay WUBERG to cast spells” do you need to pay ALL the colours or does it mean you can play any colour land instead of what the card states?
if you decide to pay the alternate cost, it costs you one mana of each color to pay

Final vengeance goes well with Spiteful Hexmage.

Looping fear of infinity isn't a good gameplan. Recurring bad threats is almost always inferior to just playing good ones.

So, correct me if im wrong, but why isnt Madness in this set? I feel like it would fit the theme really well, especially with cards like Grab the Prize we saw in the video and plenty of other discard outlets in the set.

Leyline can potentially be a free jodah, and jodah is decent but not usually great in standard
I think at point, I'm pretty sure they only create rare cards, then put a slight downgrade on them to turn them uncommon
The slasher kills in 4 turns not 3. 20..18 to 9, 7 to 4 rounded up, 2 to 1 then die. Nice show ...:)
That Blue 3 mana 2/2 make a glimmer may seem bad but it interacts with what every single color is doing this set. Red cares about creatures with power 2 or less entering and it gives you 2, white cares about glimmers and it gives you one, black cares about Eerie and it triggers that. It doesn't do anything for Delerium for green though, but green is barely a color am i right?
How do duplicate unstoppable slashers work? Combat damage happens at the same time right, so they would lose half their life twice? Or would they actually order them in reality and just take 3/4 health?

If you copy it after you have turned it into a "creature until end of turn" being the key phrase. I am uncertain if that effect carries to the copy??? what if you copy a creature who was been turned into a 0/1 and lose all abilities does it copy the original card or do i end up with a useless 0/1? melting my mind Dev.

That's a really awesome fun fact that I never heard about...!!..Also...I'm pretty sure Wizards / Hasbros Counsel is just as efficient at defense as they are at offense... There was probably a conversation with Kings people about the production of these cards before the printings ....and even if WOTC had to pay 50k...100k....200k...?...they have it...which is the amount of $$ Dev has spent on MTG. Since 1996 or so....

Magic is going in the wrong direction:
-monored is getting stronger. A " free" hasted 2drop flyer that grows... A Giant growth that leaves a counter on a creature(Heartfire)... They gave red trample, and menace too! They gave the best draw card in Bloomburrow... to white... the color which could already answer anything for 1 or 2 mana in 100 different ways. RDW was winning without the upgrades, adding better removal doesn't balance anything, it just kills valuetown decks.
Magic used to be fun. I'm going to pair green with black so I can have big creatures and get creatures out of their way. Or maybe I want blue for counterspells and draw paired with white to remove if something gets through... ... ... Why do I even need blue now that white has gotten SO MANY draw spells... White dusk rose 1 drop removal with ward 2 is 10 times better than 2 drop doomblade when red kills you on turn 3, even without a christmasland hand. So now, I HAVE to play a very healthy amount of very cheap removal... Green doesn't even get Rampant Growth(mana dork? forest restricted 1 drop enchantment?), God forbid we asked for instant speed. And all the while, Glissa still dies to doomblade. Are you putting all these pieces to the story together yet?
Wizards, I don't want to play against solitaire win on turn 3 decks. I don't want to play against infinite combos that just insta-win. I want to play a game that goes back and forth with the game swinging one way or the other each turn.
Additionally, Sultai is not competitive with Boros, even with the watered down color wheel.

Mate gix needs other creatures to function…slasher on its own slashes you…independence is huge…secondly, its a zombie with support from cards like undead augur and champion of the perished…gix gets bs support….needs voidwalker or gifted aertherborne to function which still makes it bad as voidwalker cant block reggie or slasher….
Also another bonus is slasher is not legendary and gix is….if u have out 2 slashers and 2 reggies opponent has no clue what to block

Card design is nice, but the names, theme, and even flavor text, are just too close to reality for me. It's almost like wotc admitting their IP isnt good enough anymore and they need to have all these universes beyond to appeal to their new customer base. Wow.
