The Swedish version of this show is called Bäst i test. Bäst i test = Best in test. In one of the Swedish episodes the participants had to figure out what an Icelandic man were saying.
I have no idea how you could have missed Taskmaster. They are in their 18th season now, and have been on the tv in the UK since 2015! They started their youtube channel in 2019 and I watched all of the previous episodes during the first months of the pandemic. They even had the pandemic "home editions" when UK was in lockdown, giving out tasks to the people of UK each week, and the best was broadcasted on their youtube channel. It really brought people together. The Swedish version is on their 7th season now.
I agree. I've never ever lived in the UK but I have watched every single series and episode. The British is the best, our Swedish version comes second in my opinion followed by New Zealand, Norway and on the very last place Denmark (Never seen any other versions, please tell me if there are others) Love the show concept!
@@eh-modoThere is an Australian, a Portoguese, a US and a Finnish version too, but I've never seen any of them so I don't know if they're any good. I heard that the US version i really bad though.
This show is a lot about finding loopholes. If it doesnt say in the letter that something is forbidden it is allowed. So Catherine got that this meant she could use her phone in this task, and the others didnt.
"Bäst i Test" was better when it was in SVT, maybe it was becouse of the commercials, i dunno. But the people competing was also more fun, like Ankan. Now they just try to use a budget Ankan thats not funny and noone knows who it is. Swedish has better host In David Sundin that carries the show hard. In the norwegian show thy had this same but "have a conversation with a finnish person" :D And yes, one can look "very swedish". I can tell often finnish look from other nordics. This is ia funny show broadcasting in many countries. The thing is you have to be very literal with the instructions of the tasks. So she could ring a friend and look at dictionary because it wasnt forbidden in the rules.
Taskmaster is great, enjoy the British, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish to be fair. I like the swedish tasks the most but the British "comedians"/guests are wayyyyy funnier
I can warmly recommend Taskmaster as a series. It started airing on Dave and then went over to Channel 4. The show rewards (and sometimes punishes) lateral thinking, which is why no one batted an eyelid when Katherine "cheated". As a Swede myself, this whole show resonates so well with me. I've always claimed that Brits have some of the best panel shows and comedy shows.
Taskmaster is brilliant! I watch both the UK version (the original) as well as the swedish version. I intend to watch the danish and norweigan versions in the future, too. 🥰
Actually, Danes, Swedes and Norwegians can often understand each other pretty well. It depends on where people are from, some dialects are harder to understand than others.
A swede that is used to danish will understand and conversate with a danish person without any problem. Pannbiff is not a hamburger, its more like a Salisbury steak
Taskmaster is a fantastic TV show, you should watch it! The Swede pops up again, you could try "Learn Swedish - Fred Returns!" where you can also learn a Swedish drinking song!
@@DONTHASSLETHEHOFF No it´s not, pull up the viewer ratings for it. Just to be "that one", rarely anything that´s on the lousy tell-lie-vision anymore is for the public to have an opinion about.

We have this program in Sweden and the program is called: Best in test. Think that once upon a time we understood each other and many Swedes often went over to England to sell things and vice versa. But then the language changed as many French words entered the English language.
This show is very popular in Sweden (-”Bäst i test” its called here-) but they have made a lot of changes to it. In the Swedish version it is much more of a family show.
An interesting thing about dates and the word "flip it around"..We in Sweden say 26th June for example ,while Americans say June 26th. And year,we say 19 hundred82(1982)..while Americans skip hundred.
People from southern Sweden usually understand danish. That’s the part of Sweden where they have a dialect that differs the most from the other ones.. we have a lot of dialects here 😅

Danish people understand south old swedish and norwegan.. but it takes a little time to translate the order and meaning ov the words. but i text its clearer.
You have never watched Taskmaster before? It's on like season 18 currently in the UK. There is even finnish version of it called Suurmestari and has few seasons too. Although the UK version is pretty much best version of the show.

3:50 Hahaha no man, no you shouldn't :D Swedish is my 2nd language and i prefer "prata du engelska?" and to be honest im not sure if i say even that right... prolly not
The British Taskmaster is absolutely the best version, but I like the Norwegian as well, which is called "Kongen befaler". Our Swedish version "Bäst i test" is usually pretty good, but I have always felt that the hosts are wrong for the show. They have done other stuff that's good, though, so it isn't that I don't like them. They are just kind of tame and not that funny in it, compared to hosts from other versions of the show.
It was lucky for her that it wasn't the other way around, a Swedish friend trying to understand a Dane. A Dane understands a Swede perfectly. The other way around, not so much.
Theres some truth to that☺️ Pronounciation-wise it is much easier for danes to understand swedes but there is a lot of words that are completely different though that you need to know as a danish person in order to understand swedish. . When I worked at a café where we had a lot of danish guests and I asked them if they wanted whipped cream with their hot chocolate it was much better to use the danish word (piskefløde) because if I said the swedish word (grädde) at least half of them looked at me as if I was from a different planet😅
Scanians understands Danes better than "upper Swedes" but Danes understands "upper Swedes" better than Scanians. So when a Scanian speaks with a Dane, he have to change into Danish.
