for river valley, did you mix it up with the 6 expansion modules. the base game was too light for us as well, but i'm keen to try the again turning on all that extra stuff
We did try a couple of the modules. They did add something, and if you really like the base game, I think you’ll like them a lot! For us, it was still super light, but enjoyable!
I LOVE trick taking games. I'll recommend a variety of them. Tricktakers is one of my recent favorites, asymetric power drafting and truck taking. Tournament at avalon/camelot... trick avoidance with a great theme and art. Schadenfreude is also very good.... come in 2nd, don't be first. PotatoMan! A must NOT follow trick taking game. The fox in the forrest is the most well known 2player only trick taker.... and Claim is very good... but i would also look at Jekyll vs Hyde is vet food. I have lots of others I could recommend but I'd start there.
When you said you want to have some trick taking recommendation I thought "Rebel princess!" And than you already played it. But I also recommend "The Crew Mission Deep Sea". A cooperative trick taking game👍
Hey 😊 nice video. I'm always looking for nice solo games and now, after hearing many good things and seeing your pictures, I am excited to try tranquility 😊 Thank you for the little reviews of those games ❤ have a nice weekend.
It is true most board games cannot go in the bathroom, this is the real state space Chip Theory Games is targeting. There is always room for Chip Theory Games in your bathroom, even inside the tub when not in use!
Trick taking recommendation : Nokosu dice. If you can't buy a copy, you can always homebrew it via another trick taking game and buying some dice, I highly recommend it. The things it adds aren't very far removed from pure trick taking dynamics, but add a very nice layer to decision making. Low rules overhead, high amount of game ratio. The other thing is the number of tricks in a single round is high enough to let you experience the tempo of a round better imo. A lot of TTs have 5-8 tricks a hand, this one has 11-12 iirc
I thought Caution Signs was even MORE FUN at higher player counts. I think that's why I will buy it. The higher player count provided more challenge and the errors/wrong guesses made it more fun
Love trick tacking games, my fav is actually Bottle imp, 7 is way too low! I also really like stick'em. For ladder climbing games, tichu is king! Would love to try nokosu dice but can't get my hand on it, horrible distribution for it in Canada... I'll have to try rebel princess, but I don't like changing rules in trick taking games, so it might not work for me.
We were lucky to get a copy of Nokosu Dice at Spiel last year, but have only played once so far! Need to play that one again soon! Bottle Imp is super interesting, and I find myself thinking more about these small card games than any other games we played recently. It doesn’t sound like Rebel Princess will be a good fit for you, but give it a try if you have the chance! :)
Summed up, pretty much! The longer answer is that we are lucky to have this channel, and we recieve many of these games from the publishers. With keep or cull we get to cover and review loads of games we wouldn’t had the time to with full reviews, and that makes me happy! Only the games we personally love or that fit in the collection will stay, or else we’d have nothing but games in our house! No one needs this many games, but we want to cover them and help all of you find out which ones that might be a good fit for you! :)
Personally I think that’s the ugliest version of Tichu out there. There’s are better ones. Trick taking games are hot right now. Rebel Princess is one of the best so good choice. Schadenfreude is excellent as well as Nokosu dice. Robotrick is a good one that plays exactly 3 players. Skull King is top tier and it’s easy to find. There are a lot of trick taking games coming out of Japan. Many are hard to get but western publishers are starting to bring them over. All Play is doing this more than anyone else at the moment.

Looking forward to your opinion after trying out the modular expansions 👍 I think it's a very nice game!

Thank you so much! I will take note, and check them out :)
Great recommendations. Another vote for Schadenfreude and Tournament at Avalon/Camelot from here!
Tichu is one of my absolute favorite games, I love it the more I play it
I hope we’ll get the chance to play it again soon! :)

Love The Crew! Truly an amazing game! Thanks for the reccomendation 🤩

Thank you for the very kind words! I think Tranquility will be a great cozy solo game!
Have a great weekend 🤩
@@BoardGamingRamblings Thank you 😊❤️
It is true most board games cannot go in the bathroom, this is the real state space Chip Theory Games is targeting. There is always room for Chip Theory Games in your bathroom, even inside the tub when not in use!
Hm for TrickTaking maybe try Aurum, Throne of Valeria, 12 Chip Trick, Ratpack or Sail.
Some trick takers I really like:
Brian Boru
Cat in the Box
Sail
Shamans/Inside Job (similar niche)
American Bookshop

We actually got Nokosu Dice at Spiel last year! Have only played once, but will absolutely play it again soon!
Dracula vs Van Helsing is currently my favorite trick taking game
My favorite trick taking game is Yokai Septet. Monique & Naveen from Before You Play recommended it. It’s excellent at 3 or 4.
Need to check it out! Thank you 🤩
I'm going to look for a copy of Rebel Princess. Sounds great.
ok but if you would put board games in the bathroom which ones would they be? could be a whole episode in itself...lol. love your channel.
Hahahaha! We have one shower game in one of our videos. I think it might have been a Rambling Awards video! 😂
Looot and Open Season are on BGA
Agree that Open Season is okay and Looot is Fuuun
It's nice that it's easier to play more games before choosing if you want to buy them :D

What are the 2 drawing games that you like?
Doodle Dash and Pictomania are my favorites!
Did you play River Valley glassworks with 2 players or more than 2?
We played it with 2 and 4 players 😊
Try Aurum, Sluff Off, Lunar, Joraku, and Skull King for trick takers.
Thank you! I’ll have to make a list 🤩
Thank you! K would like to try Looot!
It is a lot of fun! Hope you’ll get to play it soon :)
It’s on BGA if you want to try it
@@cometier Oh great! I didn't know
ill take river valley glassworks...unless its already gone...in which case i cant take it...but i tried...
Hope you’ll get a chance to play it soon :)
For trick taking, I like Boast or Nothing, Sail, or Joraku
Thank you! We did pick up Sail at Gen Con! Will keep an eye out for the others!
So glad to see Looot get some love. I feel like it’s flown completely under the radar and it’s so fun!
I enjoyed it a lot! We almost skipped it, but I am very happy that we didn’t!
So you bought all these games, played them and are planning to sell them within 2 to 3 months???
Summed up, pretty much!

Rebel Princess for the win!!!
It’s so good 😍
Hearts is better than Rebel Princess in my opinion. None of these modern avoiding points trick taking games did it better than the classic yet
I just love the theme and the different rules for each round so much! 🤩
Personally I think that’s the ugliest version of Tichu out there. There’s are better ones.

Probably best to keep games out of the bathroom….
Yeah, we try to… 😅
No games in the bathroom??? You do not have a kallax in your bathroom???
Sadly no! We decided to have a shower instead! 😂
Dump Tichu and get Taipan, the art is so much better, the dragon is a scary dragon, the phoenix is a real firebird etc...
Will check it out! Thank you! :)
