If you would total the amount of HP given by those locomotives since 10 of them had 4400 horsepower each and the last two had 4300 each, that would give you a strong total of 52,600 horsepower. I even saw a 12 engine Intermodal at Hill 582 in April 2022 with 11 GE’s having 4400 each and an ACe giving 4300, resulting in it having 100 more horsepower than what you got here.

Don't forget, not all of them are firing up. Some are just being returned to the marshaling yards to be used as auxiliary power for the next trains going up the grade. They're going downhill, there's no need to be wasting fuel for that.
You were lucky with only 50 minutes wait. I was there twice half a day and saw only one train...

You might have been there during the derailment, the Tehachapi is a very busy route seeing both UP and BNSF
The Tehachapi Loop should be the Eighth Wonder Of The World.

About 110 cars plus the 12 locomotives which is 72 feet, and considering the average length of the railcars are around 60 feet, the total length is approximately 7464 feet (2275 meters), and the weight of the train depends on if the train is empty or not, which I do not know, but I hope that will answer your question.

Look at a cars springs to determine if a car is loaded or empty...loaded cars have the springs compressed and empties have a space between the springs.
