Great location and shots of a railroading legend. Only from this vantage point can one truly get a feel for what's actually going on. Beautiful photography and great railroading.
I been lucky enough to make the trip to Tehachapi Loop twice once in the fall and once in the middle of summer. This an amazing place to watch train action! I saw it originally in 1982 when you could still see SP, UP and S FE still parading over the mountains and with cabooses too! Then again in !995 when BN & S FE had just merged but trains were still lettered with original company schemes. Its awe inspiring to be able to watch the same train circling over itself and coming around past you and it is still coming up the valley below!
Looks like they're getting ready to, if not now in the process of, double-tracking the line south of Walong. Very good stuff! As a resident of Tehachapi for several years, this brings back many pleasant memories. :)
I don't think I've seen so many boxcars on one train as that between 33½ and 38½ mins in any vid on RUclips. It's just as well that the following cars only train was not meeting anything in the other direction since it didn't fit into the passing siding at Walong. All-in-all, an entertaining hour and a half. Ta much!
Yes I have my scanner on hand with railroad frequencies programmed into it. Not only does the scanner add to the video but it gives me a good perspective of train movements over the hill, and when work windows go into effect.
marravilloso que cosa mas hermosa ver todo este ferrocarril es una mravilla moderna me quedo anonadado recordando cuando iva a ver los de aca de Costa Rica hace sesenta y cinco años
TEHACHAPI WHY I NEVER WENT THERE AN WATCHED THE TRAINS OF OIL CANS GO BY ONE TRAIN AFTER ANOTHER IT WAS DURING THE TIME WHEN SOUTHERN PACIFIC AND SANTA FE WERE MERGED. THERE WERE FRAIGHT TRAINS THEN ALSO. SOME LONG ONES IT WOULD HAVE BEEN INTERESTING. BRING MY SELF FOOD AND WATER, OR HAVE WENT TO THE TOWN OF TEHSCHAPI THERE WERE STORES THERE I COULD HAVE GOT THE SUPPLIES THAT I WOULD HAVE NEEDED I JUST DIDN'T DO IT.
Wonderful good video!
I wish you a nice weekend 👍🙂
Nice train track loop
Danke für die eindrucksvollen Bilder in bester Qualität.👍👏

Para quien fue ferroviario esto es una maravilla, emocionante ver los caballos de fuego como decían los apaches, gracias amigo .....!!!!
i love this vantage point and how you can see trains coming for a long ways in both directions...
(from Canada) Watched it all in one shot, very good video of the Tehachapi Loop, enjoyed it very much, thanks for posting.
Really good video work - both in the 4K camcorder used and in technique you have displayed - EXCELLENT!

Lovely loop
Awesome video! Great camera quality also
Might be a stupid question but it's kinda amazing how these trains don't string-line on this loop. I guess the distributed power really helps
Super amazing catches! I really want to go there
Unbelievable quality 👍🏾
Great 👍 video and location the question that I have is how can I get the railroad frequencies? And I will be subscribing

If there's a wilder track layout in America, some one give me a video link!
This is the ultimate!
Such long cargo trains can only be seen in America

I would ask. Is that a job older operators only can apply. Or bottle neck disliked ?
*C'est vraiment pas banale comme trajet.*
Amazing. Elon Musk can't with all his "AI", touch that. Top that Peterbuilt!
All that freight and very little pollution.
