    Great location and shots of a railroading legend. Only from this vantage point can one truly get a feel for what's actually going on. Beautiful photography and great railroading.

    I been lucky enough to make the trip to Tehachapi Loop twice once in the fall and once in the middle of summer. This an amazing place to watch train action! I saw it originally in 1982 when you could still see SP, UP and S FE still parading over the mountains and with cabooses too! Then again in !995 when BN & S FE had just merged but trains were still lettered with original company schemes. Its awe inspiring to be able to watch the same train circling over itself and coming around past you and it is still coming up the valley below!

    Really good video work - both in the 4K camcorder used and in technique you have displayed - EXCELLENT!

    Looks like they're getting ready to, if not now in the process of, double-tracking the line south of Walong.
    Very good stuff! As a resident of Tehachapi for several years, this brings back many pleasant memories. :)

    Might be a stupid question but it's kinda amazing how these trains don't string-line on this loop. I guess the distributed power really helps

    I don't think I've seen so many boxcars on one train as that between 33½ and 38½ mins in any vid on RUclips. It's just as well that the following cars only train was not meeting anything in the other direction since it didn't fit into the passing siding at Walong. All-in-all, an entertaining hour and a half. Ta much!

      his scanner, you can program in the RR frequencies.

    • @AustinGoodwin1
      @AustinGoodwin1  8 лет назад +5

      Yes I have my scanner on hand with railroad frequencies programmed into it. Not only does the scanner add to the video but it gives me a good perspective of train movements over the hill, and when work windows go into effect.
