I really came to see Pedro Pascal but I have to congratulate Janicza for an excellent, incredible film, the background music transmits peace to me and the voices are like poetry to my ears.
SAME I was in such a trance my eyes clothes every time the sound of music came out of this film like as if I was physically in the film, it felt like liquid gold in my ears.
I’m assuming that Penn is a real estate agent, and Jean is helping her show the house to potential buyers. She seems to appreciate the house, as well as the bird (and a tortoise?) more than any of them. It’s a very dreamy and calming film, which is helpful right now because I’ve stayed up way too late to watch this. A feast for the eyes and ears, well done!
watched it in class with a friend of mine today. with so much noise in the classroom we stayed glued to the screen, mesmerised. the colours, the music, the actors. it’s all so beautiful. and being able to tell a story in such a short time, it’s amazing! so beautifully done.
he literally spoke two colonial languages in this flick, chill bruh. spanish and english aren't cute....and before you come for me i speak amharic (the language of my mother) and i speak swedish (the language of my father) besides english....
I've only discovered Pedro Pascal a few years ago, but now I'm getting into his work. I've got a bit of catching up to do, but I already like his acting. I've already seen several of his movies, and I think he's dynamic.
This was... very thought provoking and now this writer needs to write. Jean as a cellist resonates in me as I am a cellist myself. I came here for Pedro Pascal/Nico and stayed for Jean/Kelsey Lu. 💜
Y aquí estoy 5 de la mañana viendo este film, yo venía por Pedro y me llevé la sorpresa de verlo hablar español (paso de estado sólido a líquido cuando lo hace) y además el film es muy bello, felicidades ♡
The editing and filming of this was PERFECT! The vintage feel of the film itself, coupled with the costuming and setting gave a definite aesthetic. I found the music to be calming (listening with my good headphones on!). I wasn't expecting the cello - a great surprise! Katherine Waterston, Natasha Lyonne, Pedro Pascal...could the casting be any more perfect??
So I got up at 4am to watch this, as it debuted, and then fell back asleep, before I could leave a comment. Once fully awake, I rewatched, with now full coherency, and am now leaving my comment. I thought it was artistically beautiful, I really loved the direction by the cinematography. I’m a big fan of the “revolving scenes passage of time” technique, which I’m sure has an actual technical term, but I don’t know it. 😆 It took me a minute to understand what was happening, that the house was for sale, I’m assuming, and Jean was showing the house. As stated in my comment for the little teaser trailer for this, I am here because of Pedro, and I did very much enjoy his bit, though Nico seems like a sleeze. But my favorite scene was with Langley and Ruth, sitting outside on the bench. Talking about being together for every year to come, and getting TWO dogs; It was beautifully captured, and Poorna and Katherine’s chemistry is uncanny. I’m LGBT, and it warms the deepest parts of my heart to see a scene like that. I actually got pretty choked up, and a few tears may have been shed. All in all, just a very well composed piece of work. Really enjoyed it, now I’m going to watch it again, and send it to all my friends. Thank you for this little snapshot of joy and beauty that the world sorely needs right now. 💗
I'd never heard of Kelsey before, I need to look up more of their work! Also, I can only imagine how much Jean wanted to push Nico into the pool for him propositioning her like that.
@@lizpantelis I only watched it for Pedro and am glad to know I'm not the only who is completely confused. I thought Nico slept with Jean and was planning to run off with her. Then his Italian man speech was like "WTH is he talking about?" Yes it's visually a pretty film. The music was beautiful. Yes each actor did a good job. But I just never really got into these types of movies. To each their own.
@@CryssyJ824 I follow Janicza and adore Natasha - been going through some of Pedro's stuff too. I initially thought Nico was thinking out loud to/about someone who wasn't there. Him and Jean seem to have just met to me - and he was definitely interested in the house so it would make sense that he was an earlier showing. Then by the pool he sounded like he was responding to a question. Maybe Jean asked who he was talking to/about? Or maybe he was propositioning her and she asked him about his last relationship, or the person on the phone call, or maybe to describe himself haha. It was in past tense though... It's the most unclear interaction to me.
@@lizpantelis That's how I read into it to! That Nico was poetically thinking out loud about the fireplace and separate houses and then at the pool describing who he was talking about. His smiles and laughs looked like it was someone he was enamored with. Then everyone started talking about how sleazy his character was and I was confused.🤣 I took the past tense as maybe it was an ex he wasn't over or someone who passed away.
@@akimarcellus264 If it's about someone who passed away that would make the "we'll have two homes. Separate homes. Yours more modest than mine" an interesting allegory.
1. extremely late 2. extremely confused 3. pretty much only came for Pedro, and for some reason, i thought this was kinda old? like something he did before Oberyn? was pleasantly surprised to see how recently this was made. The turtleneck, the Spanish, and the smiling made me feel fuzzy uwu
I may not be very cultured or understand artsy pieces, I need more set-up/plot. But I do enjoy hearing Pedro say he wants to make love by the fire. Just dont know wtf he was talking about by the pool. Who is the ‘he’?
This has to be one of the most excessively pretentious, boring things I've ever watched, but it has Pedro Pascal in it, so I'll probably watch it again.

I don’t think there will ever be a role where I’m /not/ crushing on Pedro. 🙈

nico is in fact such a HUNK
Pedro speaking spanish is my religion! ❤️

@@mnaoitb1 still sounds cute
Pedro speaking is mine.
Magnifique directing by Janicza, I loved the light settings, that kinda sleepy sunny LA aesthetic and the use of the music as a 7th character
Wow u must know film well…i wouldnt recognize music as a character.

I came for Pedro but honestly the entire thing is a masterpiece. Visually and musically intriguing. I am pleased.
Kelsey Lu did a wonderful job in this! Her voice is as beautiful as ever 😊

The color pallette, the composition, dialogue... wonderful to look at and listen to. Interested to see more from Janicza.
The whole film was so aesthetically pleasing. And Natasha in that set-up ❤
"Make love by the fire'.....aaaaaand I'm dead.

the photography and colors is outstanding it really made me want to buy that house, i really really love this
One of the best directors of a Generation just made a statement. Great piece.
I can’t wait to see more of what Janicza brings to the table. Zola was a beautiful film and this is too. The style of it is elegant.
