The huge picture outside the stadium is of the former owner, he died in a Helicopter crash outside the stadium 27th October 2018, along with 4 other passengers. His son is the current owner of the club. That's who the statue is of.

@@Laudits Seeing the old stadium bought back memories, the old stadium was 200 yards away backed onto 2 sides back gardens of terraced houses. i once went to a night game there 16th Jan 1978, southampton vs Grimsby town, FA cup 3rd round replay, saints won 4-1, attd 11,356.

You never went to the memorial garden my friend it was in the corner of the stadium further around from the remembrance garden you seen
