Outstanding work guys. I was born and raised here in Wichita and was fortunate to see Elvis in his last two appearances here, in 1974 and '76. Nicely done...
The best video you have done, love that the arena staff played the video of Elvis at that venue , would of been such a thrill to see Elvis back then in 72, Thankyou soo much for the hard work and I bet it cost for you to do this , very grateful for keeping this channel going and its amazing we can see these after all the years .
This is absolute great. It feels like traveling back with the time machine. Thanks for your effort! I‘m looking forward for all the upcoming videos. All the best from switzerland!
I can't believe they did all that, amazing that they put Elvis on the big screen. Kudos to them, still not a Shockers fan though:) Really cool you got to stay in the same hotel room as well. Great job!!!
My brother-in-law had to take Elvis's food up to his suite at the Ramada in Wichita during one of these tours. He never saw him because they would take the tray and never let you in the room.
..✨you look too young to have seen him in concert but there’s a sentimental quality in your voice that resonates to another time and another world. ..thank you for this traipse down memory lane. ..the best of memories always begin and end with him. .✨
I had no idea he was here. I pass that building a lot going to my Rheumatologist appointments. My nephew's high school graduation was there and my son would have had his graduation there last year had we not have had covid. So cool!
Goose bumps when the 8mm footage and sound of Elvis performance hit the building one more time!....I know the feeling because I saw Elvis the concert in the Mid south Coliseum in1997....I absolutely love your'e video's, specialy the line up shots. Greetings from Holland Raymond Glas.
No ...I saw Elvis the concert in the Mid south Coliseum 1997. And the same feeling came over me when I saw the 8mm footage from 1972 played in that arena one more time. Elvis in the building through video footage.
Guys, this is awesome. What a fantastic experience seeing and hearing Elvis on the big screen. Absolutely loved the hotel walk through and the comparison of Elvis getting into his limo. I’ve said it before, that what you are doing is keeping Elvis legacy alive and relevant. Thanks again, your research is really appreciated!
It's a great looking coliseum in side. Like you said got to thank the staff for putting Elvis on the video. Must have been a great experience for you both. Thanks again 👍
This is wonderful. As a 13 year old boy I remember reading about his 1972 show in Wichita.. He was in a great state of mind after hearing the incredible news that the June 10th Madison Square Garden Live Album was flying off the shelves..You can feel the excitement and hear the band on this bit of footage you show... Like the June 10th show Elvis and the band were in the zone and took it to another level.. Thanks for sharing this.
The gentleman is a legend my friend people love the man the love and respect that gentleman gets the love of his family and legend8friends too many times we all love that man still ❤💙💜and his family that God's without saying we love you 😍❤♥💙🙏💜😍❤♥xxxxxx ❤xxxxxx ❤
Great job, guys! It always makes me feel good to hear the people who now work at these places will take the time to help you out and go out of their way to make your videos just that much more special. Kudos to the people at Charles Koch Arena. It's a beauty!
I love this so much!!! I saw Elvis here in 1976! I have always wondered where he stayed and have checked several hotels in Wichita to find the location of that iconic picture of him leaving the hotel!! Thank you so much!!!
Bottom of the hotel looks more like a hospital.Another very enjoyable video.Always nice to see behind the scenes and what went on.Greetings from England have a nice tour.A nice arena i imagine being round a good sound footprint.🐻🤗👍
Love these videos. Hope you'll come to Providence, where I saw Elvis on three occasions at the Civic Center (now the Dunkin Donuts Center). Have plenty of rare photos I can share.
Very cool!👍 I have watched so many WSU basketball games on tv and never knew that that was where Elvis performed while in Wichita. And cool of them to honor Elvis too by putting that fan footage on the big video board. Go Shockers!🏀
I want to see Elvis at the” state fair grounds Arena “or at the “Myriad “both in Oklahoma City..I seen Van Halen ,AC/DC ,and Rush at the Myriad and lots of shows at the Arena (Disney on Ice) to Merl Haggard..
Charles Koch, Irving Goldberg, Sid Greenburg, even out in Wichita, they own the whole country! I’m surprised there isn’t a giant flag with a Star drapping the front entrance!
I attended Elvis' Concert on March 23.1977 in Tempe, AZ at the Arizona State University Activity Center (now Wells Fargo Arena). I would love to assist in a video as well as the concerts at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum where I know he performed in 1970. I have ticket stubs to confirm and would like to contribute anything I can to the video.
Thank you so much for watching our video. It’s a passion of ours to document these buildings before they are gone. As for the video we searched for any footage we could find of Elvis in Wichita to share with the staff. They were excited to see that it existed and we were thrilled beyond belief when they put it on the Jumbotron. Thank you!
@@epbackontour thanks for the reply.. I found out some information..I don't think he stayed in Wichita overnight.. But there was a crash involving one of Elvis' limousines, downtown that caused a waiting period with the police. According to the newspaper....I think he visited there that evening though.. Either to get changed or try wait for the crash to be sorted.. Or on the way back to the airport to shower and change etc.. He didn't have the luxurious Lisa Marie yet.. Just a chartered plane.. I found later with research sometimes they would fly in for an arranged hold up at the hotel until the gig or after the gig then move on when he could fly out... He did it apparently even in 1977.. There is a signed note in the hotel guest book from the USA treasurer for president Nixon and President ford, and a letter sent later from her, placed in the book where they have done the same.. Stopped briefly in-between whistle stop meetings.. It's all very interesting.. The Elvis signed note has been dated by Elvis when he was in town that day and been confirmed, last week, as genuine, by Richard consola (the top Elvis writing expert).. And it has the original newspaper clippings from the next day in 72 about the Elvis gig.. Very intriguing.. There's a page signed by Bob hope and they've placed photos on the page. It has the photos taken of him in the hotel, with newspaper clippings about him staying.. Same with Diane baker the actress and many more..

Once again another trip down memory lane. Thanks.
I was lucky enough to see him in December 1976 and it was awesome show and I thought he looked great
Saw all three concerts, plus my first one in Kansas City in 1971! Thank you for helping me remember dates and jumpsuits. :) He was fabulous!
Oh my God!! What an experience to watch the video like that. That's a dream!

Ho my god Elvis in Wichita. 😪
I think in 1972 he stayed in the regal Inn formerly the Radisson in New market Street.. Is that correct? Anyone can confirm this?
Nice job.
Thank you !!
Beau travail et très intéressant ! merci à toi et à ton fils 👍

Great job guys hopefully you had fun 'on tour' checking this out. Who owns the video footage played on the screen?

I think I've found the signed guest book of his first stay in 1972 signed by Elvis !! .. Does anyone reply on here?
Sorry for the late response. We are not 100% sure, we will look into it and will do a follow up comment with our findings.

excellent, question how many places have you visited so far?
Over 100 across the country
It's not an empty seat in the house
He preformed downtown to in the early yrs
58
“I don’t understand what Wichita has to do with a snowstorm in Chicago”
“What’s going on Neal?”
Which hotel did he stay in 1972?
Do you have any idea who took the photo of Elvis getting in the limo? It was not in the Wichita Eagle newspaper.
I don’t know. Sorry
I'm sorry but that room is not exactly like it was when Elvis stayed there. For starters, there were no flatscreen TVs back then.
