Electric Callboy is a German band that describes their musical style as "partycore" - upbeat metalcore, mixing in EDM, synth, house and pop elements. They don't what them seriously, and they take that very seriously. If you want to go down the EC rabbit hole, I would say first to watch the live version of this. And then "We Got the Moves", "Tekkno Train" and "Every Time We Touch" (which yes, is a cover of the Cascada song from like 20 years ago).

If interested, some other modern electro-metal bands I can recommend to check: Hanabie (a Japanese band I love even more than Babymetal) - "Be the GAL" (if like, then "OTAKU", "Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now"), Ankor (Spain) - proabably first "Embers" (if like, then "Darkbeat"), Bad Omens (U.S.) - "Death of Peace of Mind" (maybe "V.A.N.")
@@EwanMarshall Everytime we Touch is for sure the most innovative. For the first time, there they did a switch between soft and heavy within the same 4-liner of breakdown: "Cause every time we touch.. I don't wanna be without you, no . Cause every time we... No, I don't wanna be without you". They kind of did this again in Ratatata at the end of breakdown: "Fu, fu. So hear me now. Fu, fu. You know what I want. Fu fu. Now everybody's getting down". This was a true 50-50 collab between these two bands. The guys in Electric Callboy have talked about how they wanted it to feel like both their songs and not just one band featuring on the track of the other. I think they succeeded. EC is amazing. What is great about Electric Callboy is that they take other genres and mix them with Metal and it always works. They originally are a Emo Core band, but they come from the heartland of German Techno music scene and grew up with going to Raves and so it seems natural to them to mix Techno/EDM and Metal. Also, because they are typical 90s kids, they have 90s Boy Band ("Backstreet Boy"-sounding stuff) music elements in some of their songs. Their song "Tekkno Train" is a homage to the "Bloodhound Gang", apparently. It definitely sounds like a Bloodhound Gang song mixed with Metal. If you are looking for interesting stuff to react to, Electric Callboy is the best rabbit hole you can crawl down. Also their music videos are always top notch. The band's guitarist is one of the "Schillow Brothers", two videographers who made a name for themselves by producing weird and funny TV ads and of course they produce the videos for the band and they always look great and are very creative. Even the band's vlogs are always fun to watch and they do silly stuff like film their behind the scenes videos like a 80s sitcom or pretend there is a serial killer going round on their tour bus and stuff like that.
There is no need to be afraid that old metal becomes stale. Early metal was very experimental. The bands tried to figure out a lot of instruments, voices, and tools and most of them found a very distinct sound, which changed over the years. There is also a lot of meaning in those songs, because they were the counter-culture of the day. Electric Callboy does a really good mix of metal and EDM. They are not alone in this and experiment a lot. Their break through was "Hypa Hypa" right at the beginning of the pandemic, so they were unable to tour. Instead, they offered the song to other bands to cover. So now, there are a bunch of very different covers of the song, made by various German artists, all in their preferred styles.

"Frank the Tech" is the tour manager for Electric Callboy. He said that really didn't like the "Foo Foo" part that Babymetal added. But then when they performed this live (FoxFest) and he heard the crowd react, he realized he was completely wrong and that it completely fit with the spirit of the song.
I am surprised to see a VTuber reacting to Electric Callboy (and it is kinda refreshing). Electric Callboy is a German metalcore/electronicore band from Castrop-Rauxel and they have always been a band whose lyrics can't be taken seriously (they are a kind of band either you love or you hate them). They started under the name Eskimo Callboy in the end of the 2000's but renamed in 2022 (at that time the band tried to become the German contestant at Eurovision Song Contest but was not selected for the national final due to their song being not radio-friendly which resulted in the creation of the song "Hurrikane", a crazy mixture of German Schlager and death metal vibes). They had their breakthrough with the 2020's song "Hypa Hypa" which became their first chart hit and their first Gold-certified song in Germany and Austria. That song was also covered by a medieval rock band called Saltatio Mortis, genre colleagues We Butter the Bread with Butter (yes, that's a band name), rap group 257ers and disco singer Sasha. That song is hilariously good. Please check out more of Electric Callboy: - Muffin-Purper Gurk (a song the band wrote in memoriam of the deceased gunnea pig of their former vocalist) - Hypa Hypa - We Got the Moves - Spaceman feat. FiNCH (German lyrics) - Pump It (the song the band wanted to perform at Eurovision) - Hurrikane (German lyrics, crazy mixture of German Schlager and death metal) - Tekkno Train - F*ckboi feat. Conquer Divide (an all-female metalcore band, but this song is more pop punk)
Electric Callboy really bring the fun vibes in the metal community. Considering a lot of metal bands make songs about dark and twisted human emotions and issues, Bands like Babymetal and Electric Callboy are such a breath of fresh air.
You should definitely listen to more electric callboy. They are german and are always very fun in their music. They are also total sweethearts in real life. I did meet them once and talked to them for about 5 minutes and they were so sweet and so funny to the point it shocked me. I love them
No need to over-think the meaning of the song or video, it is just what it looks like: "We are Disco spirits! We came to break you all out of this BORING business meeting, enough working, go partying! .. Wait, what? Karaoke bar is your definition of a party? NOOOO! We meant like real party! Preferably outdoors where you can meet the sunrise!" Ratatata video is like Spaceman ("I got a rocket on my back fueled with Big Bang Bass ... My religion is Rave and I bring it to the Outer world" - there they also wear helmets, and literally travel through space to bring party to various alien races.. now it is just to Japan) meets We Got the Moves ("Everybody hands up! We don't need a damn club! ... We got the moves.. We got the groove .. We are young, we are free, sipping on booze on a sunny beach. We're alive, we believe that summer time memories will never fade away")
I'd say, don't worry about not liking what is recognised as classics within a genre. There is a reason we still hear Beethoven and Mozart after centuries. Even if some prefer one over the other, both have pieces that are globally recognised as masterpieces. So even if you end up liking one band over another. You would do yourself a disservice by not listening to what is recognised as classic rock/metal/country/pop/whatever. And how you feel about top 40, says more about what is produced, and propped up as the best of current, than it says about your tastes. I think it is common practice now, for artists and companies, to buy their own records to prop up their numbers. And now they can do it digitally, so they avoid filling the landfill.
I've been listening to metal for a long time and I can assure you that when Babymetal first came onto the scene, I was immediately sold. Also metal is known for always combining different styles of music. Even the older genres like thrash metal came to be because of combining metal with punk rock. So you do not need to worry about not enjoying bands like Electric Callboy anymore after checking out other genres of metal 🤘🤘
New sub. First off this song lives rent free in my head whenever it's not pumping through my headphones!! Second as I am new here and haven't yet started to look through your playlists yet etc, have you reacted yet to Band Maid and The Warning?? If not I highly recommend them!! Great job on this one!! 🤘😝🤘
kevin of electric callboy who usually does the harsh vocals does those ''wu wu'' also Nico does the second chorus. you can see it clearly in the live video
7:56 It's primal............think about it.......dance, screaming, it dates back centuries, and both for rejoicing, celebrating, and getting ready to go to war. No matter how advanced a species we think we are.........look around watch the news, hell, watch 15 min. of YTube and we're just still crazy about something we love. That we do what's being done here. In this vid. At least there's no violence, hateful slurs, or tons of R rated language to make yourself think you're so cool that you curse.....LOL.... kids these days. Throw another tatt on your face........you missed a spot... OIY...(face palm time)
I can recommend you check out other stuff from Electric Callboy as well, they have a few serious songs but most of their stuff is awesome electonicore with even better music videos. most of their videos are self produced, one of the band members is part of the schillo bros who also made the mv for Ratata.
Electric Callboy always has that metal element, but electronica is a big part of their style. But when BABYMETAL is in the mix, you should DEFINITELY expect metal! There's a reason its in their name, lol!
Great reaction and super fun editing! In fact, you editing is so over the top that I had to subscribe just to reward you time and efforts If you are not used to metal and you want something different but amazing art, I recommend watching those: - anything from Electric Callboy (specially 'Everytime we touch', 'Hypa Hypa' and 'Pump it'). - any of the Sabaton videos. I specially recommend 'Bismarck', 'Chrismas Truce' or even '1916' or, even better for a VTuber, their great animated videos like 'No Bullets Fly' or 'Nightwitches'. - 'Ghost love score' from Nightwish is a sure bet and it's going to summon the Nightwish Army to your channel ;) - I you are not scared of touching 'controversial' stuff, videos like 'Deutschland' or 'Zeit' by Rammstein are top shelf works of art, but I recommend you to ask a friend to watch them first before deciding to react (but, if not, you can enjoy them by yourself as a guilty pleasure...).
You should check out other metalcore bands there is a lot and most of them don't sound the same. Bands I recommend are: Bad Omens, Erra, Northlane, Polaris, Coldrain, Killswitch Engage, Dance Gavin Dance, Invent Animate, Trivium, Spiritbox, Motionless In White, Wage War and Crystal Lake. They're all different from eachother music whys
The reason Babymetal hat so much showtime is because this wasn't this is a collab and not just a feature. They completely made the song together. (If anyone is interested, Electric Callboy talked about it on their channel)
i frkn Love, how you Liked it! Such an Huge Fan of Both Bands, Saw Electric Callboy Live and it was soooo frkn Good, i really Love this reaction :3 Fell Hugged Everybody!
It was a 50/50 written between EC and Babymetal. The “bun bun bun fu fu” Means “shake your bootie” just having fun Which is NOT what Babymetal normally sings about. Gosh I could rant. But check out Falling in Reverse ‘all my life’ Or Babymetal monochrome “the first take”
I recommend bands like Mr. Bungle and Twelve Foot Ninja who do what you say, they mesh genres if you want to listen to some more bands, who are like that
You need to check out more Electric Callboy. Hypa Hypa is what made them really big with Reaction channels. I personally love Tekkno Train off their latest EP. They got some other big ones like We Got the Moves and Pump It. Hypa Hypa went big though, they have a whole Hypa Hypa EP with other bands and individual artists taking Hypa Hypa and making it in their own styles. So many different versions of Hypa Hypa, from a Scandanvian style German metal band like Saltatio Mortis to Disco style version with a German artist named Sasha and an even more Metalcore heavy version by yet another German band named We Butter the Bread with Butter.
Electric Callboy are just abunch of funny guys doing funny things until you hear them perform parasite or older songs. XD They covered Everytime we touch if you got interest in this one. ^^ Other very good tracks would be, We got the moves, Tecno Train, Hypa Hypa, MC Thunder 1 and 2 or a older one Crystals.
Very fun reaction and (over)analysis. Here is my over-analysis: music is traditionally described as having two dimensions: melody and rhythm. Rock/metal has a third component, for the lack of an official term I call it "the force" - the energy unleashed upon the listener through the distorted sound of electric guitars, excessive drumming, screams and growls, etc. Traditional kinds of metal use more or less the same amount of force start to finish of a song (which is easily overwhelming), but many modern metal songs use force more like a degree of freedom, with song moving up and down this dimension, having heavier parts and softer parts. Electric Callboy is the pioneer of an extreme form of this, their heavy parts are like only 10 seconds long, but for those 10 seconds they go as heavy as it is humanly possible: Kevin growls hard, David makes holes in those drums.. Interestingly, it appeals to people not usually listening to music with force. I think it is like a harsh roller coaster: "Aaaahhhh, ne-e-ver a-a-ga-in!!! .... Is it over? I am alive! ... Yes, I did it! High five! ... Let's do it again! "
Wowowwow I love this analysis - thank you for sharing!!! I definitely appreciate this type of metal more where artists play with the intensity of that energy (or "force"??? hehehe) Thank you so much for adding onto my thoughts on it.
No, it had nothing to do with any Pokemon, more with Kevin goes Neandertaler. Electric Callboy can mix as good as Babymetal. I had no doubt that they would find each other , but I would have not have guessed thst BabymetÖ would go as far, although I have already observed that Momo snd Moa already Profite from their New found Power. They made already made Nico and Kevin quite nervous.. But these Outfits wie their normal Stage Outfits from April 2023 till Mai 2924. And in the Video, it was offered by Nico and Kevin and had the full hearted support by the Filmcrew. It wss essential that they are recognized as adults but in reality they are tiny. So everytime you see Babymetal and Nico and Kevi in the same frame thise are forced persoevtive shots. And the japanese scenes hD a derper reason , if you understand the japanese it is expected thst no japanese Women might dare to hint an unknown man So Su describes herself as daring and wants to lure and trap a nun. So these men are for them no accidental victims but their by fate acknoledged mates. And this was also the reason for this gigNtic Disco Ball. Hold Su and Nico in distance but make the scene Intimität. Well and most interesting was that Ekectric Callboy had to strongRm some of Momokps Growls ibto the shot.
You'll enjoy Electric Callboy's other songs. I would recommend "Techno Train" as it's more EDM/techno mixed with metal. Metal most of the time takes itself too seriously, but EC is all about fun.
Well, there are other examples who takes metal way less serious: - We Butter the Bread with Butter (started covering children songs in death metal style) - JBO (parodies various songs, German lyrics) - Knorkator (comedy metal, German lyrics) - Randale (rock music for children) - Heavysaurus (rock music for children, started out in Finland and got a Spanish and German-languaged spin-off group) - Okilly Dokilly (The Simpsons-themed metal band, Ned Flanders) - Brojob (deathcore band with lyrics about LGBTQ-related topics, I love them)
Metal is exceptionally good with mixing up genres. Want some opera in there ? Symphonic metal is a whole genre. Want some bagpipes and a hurdy gurdy ? Folk metal it is. Pirate metal ? Sure. Viking metal ? Yup. Rap metal ? That's the 2000's nu metal era for you.
EC talked about how they had only one take to get right when crashing through the walls cause the company that helped produce it I guess didnt have the money or want to replace the wall again. So what you see in the video is one take.

Please check out more of Electric Callboy:
- Muffin-Purper Gurk (a song the band wrote in memoriam of the deceased gunnea pig of their former vocalist)
- Hypa Hypa
- We Got the Moves
- Spaceman feat. FiNCH (German lyrics)
- Pump It (the song the band wanted to perform at Eurovision)
- Hurrikane (German lyrics, crazy mixture of German Schlager and death metal)
- Tekkno Train
- F*ckboi feat.
Subscribed. 👍👍An awesome performance by 2 amazing bands. A true 50-50 colab. They kill it. A perpetual smile generator. 😁😁😁 Great reaction. 🦊 🖖❤

BABYMETAL is very cathartic! METAL, in general, allows us to release a lot of anger and anxiety. Thank GOD for bands like this.
I just discovered your channel, you have an amazing energy
Much appreciated!
You should definitely listen to more electric callboy. They are german and are always very fun in their music. They are also total sweethearts in real life. I did meet them once and talked to them for about 5 minutes and they were so sweet and so funny to the point it shocked me. I love them
The reason baby metal has more singing part is that its nit a feature but a full on 50/50 collab. Which is amazing!
Would love to see you react to electric callboys version of "everytime we touch"... they genuinely have fun and you can really tell
Electric Callboy is a vibe saw em live and the whole concert hall was going wild. If you can see em live do it
No need to over-think the meaning of the song or video, it is just what it looks like: "We are Disco spirits!
Brilliant Performance
Electric Callboy made some comments about the Bun Bun Bun and Fu Fu, but does anyone know what that translates to in the context of the song?
Perfect description 😊?
My first video i see, but i have the questtion, why you a so amazing
Japan and Germany got this shit down. This is why it's so fucking good
7:56
It's primal............think about it.......dance, screaming, it dates back centuries, and both for rejoicing, celebrating, and getting ready to go to war.
OIY...(face palm time)
You should react to bring me the horizon et baby the song name is Kingslayer she is so insane
Another artist who likes to mix up genres, both between and within songs, is Ado. Specifically, you might enjoy the songs Show and Odo
Love Ado!
'They look like these CD things' made me feel really old 🤣
🤘🦊🤘
Me, who collects CDs instead of downloading or streaming music: 👴
Great reaction and super fun editing! In fact, you editing is so over the top that I had to subscribe just to reward you time and efforts
If you are not used to metal and you want something different but amazing art, I recommend watching those:
- anything from Electric Callboy (specially 'Everytime we touch', 'Hypa Hypa' and 'Pump it').
- any of the Sabaton videos. I specially recommend 'Bismarck', 'Chrismas Truce' or even '1916' or, even better for a VTuber, their great animated videos like 'No Bullets Fly' or 'Nightwitches'.
- 'Ghost love score' from Nightwish is a sure bet and it's going to summon the Nightwish Army to your channel ;)
- I you are not scared of touching 'controversial' stuff, videos like 'Deutschland' or 'Zeit' by Rammstein are top shelf works of art, but I recommend you to ask a friend to watch them first before deciding to react (but, if not, you can enjoy them by yourself as a guilty pleasure...).
❤
You made my editor very happy. ❤ Thank you for the recs!
@@MaeFaeCh Your editor is epic ^_^♥
You should check out other metalcore bands there is a lot and most of them don't sound the same.
Bands I recommend are: Bad Omens, Erra, Northlane, Polaris, Coldrain, Killswitch Engage, Dance Gavin Dance, Invent Animate, Trivium, Spiritbox, Motionless In White, Wage War and Crystal Lake. They're all different from eachother music whys
Oh yes, Motionless in White. Reincarnate and Graveyard Shift were such great albums.
MORE METAL WOOO, need more of this
METAL TAKEOVER
Greetings from Germany and keep it up 😉. The other videos from the boys are just as fantastic 😁
Song of the summer
The reason Babymetal hat so much showtime is because this wasn't this is a collab and not just a feature. They completely made the song together. (If anyone is interested, Electric Callboy talked about it on their channel)
i frkn Love, how you Liked it! Such an Huge Fan of Both Bands, Saw Electric Callboy Live and it was soooo frkn Good, i really Love this reaction :3
Fell Hugged Everybody!
Thank you for watching! 🥰
It was a 50/50 written between EC and Babymetal. The “bun bun bun fu fu”
Means “shake your bootie” just having fun
Which is NOT what Babymetal normally sings about. Gosh I could rant. But check out Falling in Reverse ‘all my life’
Or Babymetal monochrome “the first take”
I recommend bands like Mr. Bungle and Twelve Foot Ninja who do what you say, they mesh genres if you want to listen to some more bands, who are like that
I’ll check it out! Thanks for the rec!
I'd throw in maNga (a Turkish nu metal group mixing metal with rap and Anadolian flair)
So many different versions of Hypa Hypa, from a Scandanvian style German metal band like Saltatio Mortis to Disco style version with a German artist named Sasha and an even more Metalcore heavy version by yet another German band named We Butter the Bread with Butter.
since you love this one you will love anything from Electric Callboy. Check them out, you won't be disappointed
Electric Callboy are just abunch of funny guys doing funny things until you hear them perform parasite or older songs. XD
They covered Everytime we touch if you got interest in this one. ^^
Other very good tracks would be, We got the moves, Tecno Train, Hypa Hypa, MC Thunder 1 and 2 or a older one Crystals.
🤓☝️ (jk that's a great analysis and i agree lol)
The official theme song for WWE Bash in Berlin.
mindblown expression
Now you will just enter the Electric Callboy Rabbithole
And the japanese scenes hD a derper reason , if you understand the japanese it is expected thst no japanese Women might dare to hint an unknown man
So Su describes herself as daring and wants to lure and trap a nun. So these men are for them no accidental victims but their by fate acknoledged mates. And this was also the reason for this gigNtic Disco Ball. Hold Su and Nico in distance but make the scene Intimität. Well and most interesting was that Ekectric Callboy had to strongRm some of Momokps Growls ibto the shot.
such an amazing song! Loved your reaction to this lol!
P.S. if you need someone to callaborate with to do a cover for harsh vocals/male vocals lmk lol
There are 4 or 5 different hooks in this song. Probably the catchiest song ever.
Hey, I like your reaction video about metal music videos, plz keep it up 😃
Thank you!!! 🥺
You'll enjoy Electric Callboy's other songs. I would recommend "Techno Train" as it's more EDM/techno mixed with metal.
Metal most of the time takes itself too seriously, but EC is all about fun.
Well, there are other examples who takes metal way less serious:
- We Butter the Bread with Butter (started covering children songs in death metal style)
- JBO (parodies various songs, German lyrics)
- Knorkator (comedy metal, German lyrics)
- Randale (rock music for children)
- Heavysaurus (rock music for children, started out in Finland and got a Spanish and German-languaged spin-off group)
- Okilly Dokilly (The Simpsons-themed metal band, Ned Flanders)
- Brojob (deathcore band with lyrics about LGBTQ-related topics, I love them)
You listen to Baby Metal and don't expect a metal sound :D It's like going to a slaughterhouse and looking for carrots :)
First :) Nice reaction video
EC talked about how they had only one take to get right when crashing through the walls cause the company that helped produce it I guess didnt have the money or want to replace the wall again. So what you see in the video is one take.
PLEASE DO A COVER OF THIS!
TIme for her to go down the trip that is electric callboy. Be sure to check out their older stuff like mc thunder 1&2
Well inthe kind of bands you are already pretty high, both Babymetal and Electric Callboy love often enogh Elements rhat are forbidden to meetm like "Give me Chocolate or Headbanger from Babymetal (Livie in Japan is preferred.
🍅💀🍅
🪩🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼🪩
😻RATATATA😻
EPIC !!!
I really enjoyed the video. I would also recommend Sleep Token.
You might wanna check out Ado. ( if you don't know her already) She's very experimental with her vocals & has many creative EDM producers working with her
Love Ado! 💙 I’ll react to her soon.
@@MaeFaeCh 😍
Checkout Babymetal "in the name of" and "Metal Kingdom"
Great reaction, I really hope you react to electric callboys version of every time we touch
Been listening to EC for like 10 years. 😅
10 YEARS?!
@@MaeFaeCh Probably longer but a lot has changed with them since then.
This song is 🔥 gotta check out hype hype by electric callboy
Collab tlga sya hindi ung parang feature lng, kaya both bands have long part, 50 / 50 sila sabi ng EC sa interview at ng tour manager nila
They have another Collab with the band Bring me the horizon called "Kingslayer"
Bun bun or boon boon and fu Fu or foo foo as it is sounded is interval to Japanese pop music according to su metal and even Ratatata is ment to mean something in music according electric callboy and if you wanna watch more ec watch every time we touch or techno train or we got the moves all fantastic and they never take themselves seriously
For real tho, react to some Electric Callboy videos, literally nobody regrets that course of action. Also BxMxC by Babymetal is pretty peak.
Have you watched the "BRING ME THE HORIZON ft. BABYMETAL - KINGSLAYER LIVE AT TOKYO" yet? Another awesome song featuring Babymetal.
