    DIA is an interesting approach. Most landings are flying over farmland, giving the passenger the feel they are not landing in a major city. But this was purposeful, allowing DIA to expand and allow more flights with less relation to urban areas.

      Interesting is probably the last word I'd use the describe a landing at DIA lol.

      That's 100% correct. It all but eliminates the Karens for many years to come lol.

    Really hope to become a pilot eventually!
    Wouldn't be doing approaches like this (as I live in the UK) but still an awesome job. Being paid to do what I do as a hobby (virtually) best thing ever!

    This illustrates just how very long those runways are. Since air is thinner at the mile high city planes require greater take off and landing speeds to keep enough air pressure under the wings.

    • @schumi246
      @schumi246 6 лет назад +5

      16R is the longest runway in the country @ 16,000 feet. All the other runways are "only" 12,000. Imagine how long of a take off roll a sold out flight to Munich or Frankfurt would be on a hot July afternoon.

      A flight from Johannesburg, South Africa to New York City cannot take off with a full load of fuel because the airport is at a high elevation and the air is hot and thin. So to make it to NYC, the plane has to refuel at Dakar, Senegal, which is on the west coast of Africa

    DIA is the largest airport in the US(square kms). Pretty amazing! I can almost see my house! lol

    This is an ILS approach into 16 Right. Believe it or not, I helped work on the construction of that runway.

    does united own any regional airlines so that they provide straight flow into united airline without interviews?

    • @dpm-jt8rj
      @dpm-jt8rj 5 лет назад +1

      Herman Wan
      I know American does, parent company, AAG (American Airlines Group which used to be called AMR) owns Envoy Airlines. I don't have specific numbers (what % and at what time interval). Envoy used to be called American Eagle but AAG rebranded it to "Envoy" and now all the regionals that were flying "American Connection" flights are considered an "American Eagle" flight. Envoy is not the only regional carrier flying Eagle flights, but they have the pipeline infrastructure. This is not always the most reliable source, but it might be interesting reading for you: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Airlines_Group and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Eagle_(airline_brand)

      United partners with a few regional carriers with a "flow through" program in place that guarantees you an interview. But to come into United without an interview to get into their hiring pool is impossible. Hope this helps 🛫

    How do you pilots keep track of all the radio talk? Multiple conversations and ‘speed talking’ while, by the way flying a 30 ton brick!

      Cockpit Scenes well I’m sure fascinated and impressed the few flights I’ve taken. Just flew into and out of Denver 2 weeks ago leaving on 16 left (I’m pretty sure).

    Not sure why, but It just makes me wanna grind my teeth whenever people fly drones in a Air Zone! There are rules and regulations set in place for a reason. If that drone were to go into one of the engines that is a disaster waiting to happen! Apart from that, amazing video, Keep up the good work!

    Not a fan of the music. Would rather hear radio traffic and or the noises in the cockpit.

    • @CockpitScenes
      @CockpitScenes  2 года назад

      The parts that have music are shown at 10 times normal speed because nothing interesting is happening. The noises of the cockpit would therefore also be ten times normal speed. I suggest during these parts that you turn down the sound.
