Three Chinese provinces have higher GDP than Indonesia. Guangdong might overtake Italy in three to five years. Chongqing has higher GDP than Malaysia or the Philippines. However, Chinese provinces still have a long way to go. I believe in 10-20 years, most of Chinese provinces will get fairly developed. I took a Chinese history class way back in University in 1999. My prof who was a Westerner said that China had always been at the forefront of technology and development throughout history. His opinion was that China's poor years in the 20th century as a result of Western Imperialism would be just a blip in her historical timeline and that she would rise to become the forefront once again. Now we are witnessing it happening before our eyes.
You cannot achieve this amount of growth and development without social stability , the full support and sheer hard work of the Chinese people and a responsible govt with foresight and good governance. It’s a very safe, advance country with incredible infra and services. Kudos to the Chinese.

Some experts said that GDP is proportional to the electricity production in that country. China's current yearly electricity production is almost two times of USA, and is equal to the G7 countries combined.

I took a Chinese history class way back in University in 1999. My prof who was a Westerner said that China had always been at the forefront of technology and development throughout history. His opinion was that China's poor years in the 20th century as a result of Western Imperialism would be just a blip in her historical timeline and that she would rise to become the forefront once again. Now we are witnessing it happening before our eyes.
In the 17th century, when the West was booming, China was destroyed by barbarians.

Wow, very inspiring. Hopefully China with spread its influence across the world and assist less developed countries to rise. I feel very optimistic for the future with the rise of China, this mighty nation will lead the world to a prosperous future. As someone from Kenya East Africa, I’m in awe of China and wish the leaders of my country could learn from China as it used to be a poor country. This is truly a great nation.

Very nice video. China has a different GDP calculation formula. It is said that China's Real GDP (purchasing power parity) surpassed USA in 2014. Some experts said that GDP is proportional to the electricity production in that country. China's current yearly electricity production is almost two times of USA, and is equal to the G7 countries combined.

In fact, the construction of these 10 cities is very average and belongs to the average level in China. Because they developed early, they are old cities, they are dilapidated. The really beautiful cities are some of the new cities that have been built since 2000. They are more beautiful than you can imagine.

As a Pakistani looking at our cities,I think we desperately need to bring city management and infrastructure expertise from china and Singapore.Pakistan has the potential but all our engineers go and settle abroad.we need to bring our own brilliant minds back by creating better environments for them.
First Pakistan need a powerful and centralized government, and struggle to avoid being disturbed by conflicts between parties，which always prevent developing countries from becoming rich countries.

The Chinese government made the mistake of requesting advice from the US government as to how to handle the situation. China has lifted 1.4 billion people out of poverty in 40 years, from a starving country to the world's second largest economy in US dollar terms with a huge middle class (in fact China is already the world's largest economy in purchasing power terms). China can build 40,000km of high speed rail in 14 years, what can western countries do? Can't even finish the build or not build debate! Jealous, very simple.
The best thing that happened in 1980s and 1990s that china started attractive pay salaries to all highly educated people and also gave great recognition to it's scientific and engineering community.
This led to vast growth of talent pool which was used in 2000s to build the nation.

China has 7 out of 10 of the world's most polluted and congested cities. You can't buy a car in Beijing, you have to put your name into the draw and to the CCC GODS that your name gets picked.
Economically, Xi Land is still a developing country, with millions of people who are still earning next to nothing, millions are still traditional farmers.
Militarily, the CCC - the Chinese Communist Clowns - are atleast 20 years behind the US.
Diplomatically, they are a bunch of sulky, childish brats, who are afraid of losing face, 丢面子。 They are Maoists and don't know how to behave.
Technologically, the CCC is at least 20 years behind the US, 15 years behind the west, 10 years behind the Japanese and 5 years behind the Korean. Don’t forget they copied train building technology from Japan. Modern China is either copying from other countries or making fake shits - from cars to iPhones to watches, to designer bags. Nothing to write home about.
