    This is just a short tutorial on how to log into the Standard Bank app.

    It keeps saying my credentials are invalid. I've tried the 3 digit pin at the back of the card and the password I usually use but keeps saying invalid credentials

      Thank you for the comment.
      Have you tried deleting the application and reinstalling it?
      If you’ve done this we suspect that your card may need to have a pin reset at your nearest branch.

      Thank you for your comment.
      Yes, Standard Bank still uses OTPs via SMS. If you’re having trouble receiving SMS messages, you may need to visit your nearest Standard Bank branch and request to update the cellphone number that receives the SMS OTPs.

    Good day, I've been trying to install the app but it declines my face verification and Ive never done a smart ID

      Thank you for your comment.
      The issue may be related to the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), where Standard Bank could be experiencing technical difficulties in retrieving your facial recognition data.
      We advise that you visit your nearest branch for assistance.

    Was in the middle of registration, verification code was sent to my email not sms. Couldn't get back to the "page" I was busy with after going to emails. When I retried the registration, said my email address had been used. How do you go to emails while you are busy registering bank app? Live out of town.

      Thank you for the feedback.
      Perhaps your phone might not have enough space to remember and that’s why it keeps timing out everyone you try to check your emails or this could be a new security protocol on Standard Bank’s side.
      The best way to do it is to check your emails on an alternative device like a PC or phone .
      Try the alternative method and let us know if you still have issues on your end

      @@thebankinsider thanks for responding. As mentioned in my previous comment, when trying to register again. After entering my email address, was told that my email address had been 'taken'. Which means I will have to go to the branch, wait in a queue once again!!! To sort out the app. Yes, this isn't my first attempt. Not only was the queue a 45+min wait. The loadshedding that day didn't help, took over an hour, after all the time spent still wasn't registered. Was told to try at home. Still no joy.

      What happens when you “log in” or “sign in” with that exact email that says it was taken?

    Hi Tried again today. Using my laptop for email. Now it says "this device" my smartphone has been registered!!!!

    Good day can you please help me, follow up on a account, standard bank pay out to the contractor,after my house was burglary and fire that I lost everything,now 2 yrs back my house looks terrific due to poor workmanship.

    The app is not easy for me, it says the page has expired due to inactive .

      Thank you for the comment.
      By any chance did you check the Play store or the App Store to see if there’s an update for the app?
      If it has the latest update we recommend trying delete the app and reinstalling it.
      Please let us know if you were successful or not

      Perhaps there may be a small backend issue on your Standard Bank Digital Banking Profile.
      You will either have to visit your nearest Standard Bank branch or you can contact Standard Bank digital banking support on this number 0860 123 000
      We hope this small issue gets resolved ASAP.

    I have a problem i don't know if you could help but i forgot my pin for my card how can i recover it

      Thank you for your comment.
      If you’re logged in the app successfully follow the next steps:
      Select manage
      Select cards
      Select card settings
      Select view pin
      Enter your ID number and then select next at the top right hand corner .
      Your card pin will appear for 10 seconds

    Am no longer using the numbers i used when i required for the card is there any other way i can get the otp??

      Unfortunately there is no other OTP option.
      You will need to visit your nearest Standard Bank branch to change your old number to your new existing number.
      After your number has been changed , you will then receive the OTP.

    They ask me for username not email address where and what is my username?

      It seems Standard Bank has changed their wording.
      Your username is a unique credential that is associated with your Standard Bank ID.
      If you don’t remember your username,select forgot username and follow the prompt.

    A lost my card along with my phone i know my user and password the only challenge is my card number how can i continue to use the app on my phone without card number

      Unfortunately we’ve never encountered such an error on our side before so we’re not exactly sure on how to solve this issue.
      Try these troubleshooting methods:
      Using a different card number
      Deleting the app and reinstalling
      Checking the Play or App Store for an update
      Alternatively you can also check out the app help guide using this link:

      If you still don’t get any success we suggest that you visit your nearest Standard Bank branch to get further assistance.

      You’re meant to enter the password that is associated with your Standard Bank Online Banking Digital Profile .
      If you don’t remember the password you can reset it on the Standard Bank Online Banking website by selecting forgot password.

      We’ve been going back and forth with Standard Bank ,but we finally got a response on your question.
      Do the following:
      After logging in select more at the bottom right hand corner
      Select dashboards
      Select my personal dashboard
      Select the country you have accounts in
      Select the type of account you’d like to link
      Enter the card details that are associated with the account you wish to link
      Select your preferred OTP method
      After doing that you should see your linked accounts on the dashboard

    What happens if finger inst scanning? How do I sign on using a password?

      The reason why the fingerprint may not be working is probably because you may have added an additional fingerprint .
      Delete the app,reinstall it and then enable the fingerprint option in settings.

      @@aalaamajd2980 ohh we see. In order for that to happen ,the fraudster would need your ID number. Even if your ID number was compromised the fraudster would still need biometrics (such as scanning your face) to authenticate . So in conclusion the answer is no.
